Community A-4E-C v2.3 (May 2025)
GrEaSeLiTeNiN replied to plusnine's topic in Flyable/Drivable Mods for DCS World
ver 2.3 1. The Shrike model disappears (or is invisible) when you re-arm with a Shrike. 2. L-Shift+1,2,4,5 during re-arming to select Shrike desired seeker head response for each station does not seem to work. How is it done step by step? Thanks -
Getting something good enough for DCS is going to be a lot easier to do with an AI only module than it would be with a flyable module.

U.a. steht da "2x Halterungen fehlt" was könnte das sein? 2 von den 3 M.2. Clips?

No, Block 15 MLU did, and only in foreign service. The MLU package gave them avionics and cockpit similar to F-16C. Stock Block 15 was heaters only, it was the last F-16A. Sparrows were only on a single ANG variant (either Block 15 or 30, I'm not sure), no other Viper carried them. It's still the same generation, and very similar role, that of a lightweight, short range, low cost dogfighter. And you're forgetting one extremely important feature of the Viper: the FBW system. It had a better RWR, sure, but the big deal was its novel control system. It would have been a particularly good match for our MiG-29, at least if it survived to the merge.

Hello Everyone, I've a plain and hopefully simple to replicate issue that when I want to add a sound to the mission, the dialog to select a sound file is not showing up anymore in the mission editor. To replicate: create new mission, add a trigger, add sound to all, try to select a sound -> no dialog. It still works for pictures and script files though. Tried on Caucasus and Cold War German maps, but I don't think it is related to the maps. does anyone else have this issue?

Then technically we might have 3 in the works. The original Wild weasel was the F-100F they didn't have ARMS so they attacked sams with cluster bombs. They were retired as Wild Weasles very early on, my dad started EWO training in the summer of 1966 and the Hun had just been retired as a Wild Weasel. We have a single seat Hun in the pipe but some of the code could be reused EF-4C they were converted towards the end of Rolling Thunder of course we have the F-4E which were converted into the F-4G I didn't say we had a weasel in the pip just the base aircraft used for weasels in the Pipe and we have the F-100

"Наземный АРК" точно не сделают, потому что его ставят на ЛА, а на землю - приводной радиомаяк или NDB по-ненашенски. Вот, он бы не помешал бы, да.

IPD is what you described it is and so it should be set in DCS and on your headset. It can affect how you see the scale in VR but I doubt you'll see a difference between 63 vs 65mm. Check extreme numbers like 40 vs 80 to see what I mean, just for fun. One will make you feel like a giant and the other makes you feel like a fly. Both will not affect the distant objects much though. That you feel altitude is off, I already said possible reasons (image realism and details) but it's not much devs can do about without major graphics improvemnts, especially when distance feels ok. Altitude is just vertical distance, right? Spotting depends on your settings esp. resolution, AA method and of course spotting dots setting.

How / where do you install these files ? I was expecting a .txt file with the instructions? Previous models you have to put files in DCS root file & DCS saved games folder. -
I've already done several DTCs for the MiG-29A, and each one has an incorrect full flight time calculation in the summary, even though (in my opinion) the entire route was added correctly. In this case, we cover over 640 km in... 13 minutes. I think this would be achievable, but only for the SR-71 ;). This flight took me almost 45 minutes on the MiG.

Changeing airfield-textures on the Marianas WW-IIiana
waterman replied to PeeJott17's topic in Texture/Map Mods for DCS World
You could create a 3d model and texture it as you need. This may sound "BONKERS" but it should work problem - you have not got access to the EDM model file for the contours of the runway it may not be flat or level. Possible solution - In blender make a 3d single model of a matrix of numbered surveyers poles all at same height and same distances apart with ruler heights marked on them. Dont need a collission model. Setup the EDM model and textures as a static object . Place the static model as an object in Mission Editor on the airfield. Adjust the height of Model in Blender so all of the poles are all sunken into the ground a little. You can take screen shots in DCS of the poles and visually read and transfer each runway contour height to points on a flat subdivided plane the same as the pole spacings ( this will be the new 3d overlay model for the runway ) What i mean is load the 3d model of poles in blender and setup the flat subdivided plane and move the points on Z axis to match each pole height reading. Place the new 3d contour model over the old runway adjust final height just above old runway. I did the same thing for My Krupp K5 Leopold Railway gun as it needed to behave as a Tank but Look like a Train on Rails so i placed a Railway line Model and textures over a DCS road . See pictures Krupp K5 as a Tank revolving and firing on the turntable and as a Railway wagon behind my German Br52 Steam Loco. Have Fun -
Since we already see this on the loading screen, why don't we have this possibility in game? Are there any limitations from the block 50 version DCS simulates?

Ok according to cross check of various documents describing all the digital hardware on board, there is AT LEAST sync between search PRF and SPO blocking signal. Keyword(or rather keynumber) is PRF in search equals to default SPO sync update. Blocking of SPO does not affect it's internal logic and processing in any way - it blocks antenna and preamp, not whole system. Also SPO uses memory to process signals and that mitigates blocking from radar, since it for example accumulates data on non-continous emissions. As for SPO being unable to handle HPRF it's very untrue, it's tested against a much higher PRF signal than MiG ever produces.

It's been about.... *cough* thirty-two *cough* years since I last took the controls of a live helicopter, and I remember the cyclic being fairly light, but I recall there was enough counter-resistance that I could feel when I was pushing on it. This WinWing is so light that I can blow on it and it moves about 6mm. Heck, if I hold it with just a finger and thumb, simply breathing moves it over ½". The cams it comes with are pretty smooth and resistance builds towards the ends of the axes, without having a discernible centre detent, but I either need to increase the spring tension, swap the cam profile or maybe just increase the damper force. Right now, simply moving my thumb to operate the switches is enough to throw everything right off. Aye, that's generally what seems to happen. Most commonly I skid in a left slide, and if I manage to stabilise that, I tip forward to get moving and end up sliding backwards or at an angle. Increasing collective seems to make it worse unless I put a lot on and just launch myself - Same for trying to hover, collective does nothing and cyclic generates lift but only once I'm moving at 40-60kph at least. Certainly this thread has given me a lot to work with and try out, and it looks like my weekend will be very busy with this - Thank-you everybody! I'll report back soon, hopefully with news of improvements....
