  3. Yes AOA vane freeze is a real thing but I doubt the Mikoyan design bureau didn't take into account the operating temperature on the Mig29. With a stuck AOA sensor, you're not able to perform high AOA turns, best rate turn, and also AFCS protections stop working.

    Ho sempre usato l’avvio veloce per il F16 con il simbolo lampeggiante nel HUD che dava la conferma dell’avvenuto allineamento . con l’avvio lungo (chi ho provato ma non sono mai riuscito a capire se aveva terminato o meno ..) L’avvio lungo quanto dura ? Bisogna confermare latitudine e longitudine ? o non serve ? Quando finisce compare la scritta lampeggiante nell’ HUD come nell’ avvio veloce ? altra cosa il nuovo pod sta più tempo a scaldarsi ? Ho provato ma non mi compare la telecamera del tgp .. grazie a tutti
  5. Speedbrake in the fulcrum only stays extended for as long as you hold the speedbrake button, it retracts as soon as you release it.

  7. As is known, at the AOA where the leading edge flaps are lowered, the differential stabilator is switched off. Above 18 deg AOA the aileron deflection angle starts to decrease and at max AOA it is only +/-5 deg. So at max AOA the only control surfaces generating roll is +/-5 deg ailerons. The result – at high AOA you move the stick laterally and nothing happens. Of course, the real aircraft has aileron-rudder interconnect. See attached pages from flight manual. How could an aircraft of this kind NOT have aileron-rudder interconnect? Even the MiG-23 has an implementation of lateral stick-to-rudder interconnect. The ARM-150 actuator in the rudder channel has an authority of +/-8 deg. I’m curious what the developers think this +/-8 deg is “reserved” for. At any stick input, no matter the AOA, the automatics in the rudder channel do nothing to help you. The rudders don’t deflect at all; they just sit there dead. The only way you can “convince” the automatics in the rudder channel to show you they’re not dead is to press a rudder pedal fully, then release it. The quite substantial yaw rate generated the rudders will try to counter by an anemic 1 deg or so deflection.

  9. Hi, most likely the script texture line has changed in the default script. Same happened with some other aircraft (S3-B, A400M, B-52, B1-B) where the texture lines were written differently, where the tank line was written in a new way.   10. I use the cannon symbology to find the target on the HUD. Hold the first detent of the cannon trigger, the circle will then be overlaid over the target, release the trigger and continue with missile engagement. This will only work if you have range information however, so it'll be fine when using the radar but with an IRST lock you need to wait for laser range. It seems the Soviets were very keen to keep the HUD decluttered or maybe the thing just can't handle too much symbology at the same time?
  11. Well, the bug is still alive. Did you have any triggers past the one "Fly to Novo... Heading 325"? Btw. the ADF 252.000 MHz doesnt seem to point to the airport but somewhere else. And skipping - unfortunately - doesnt seem to be the solution. I can go to the next mission but that one doesnt complete then either.
  12. Hello, As I'm flying primarily desert maps I'm forced to download a user liveries for F-16C as it lack one. I download quite a few of skins for a desert environment and few of them are missing same textures for the fuel tanks. nullI was looking for some tutorials to fix it myself but more I'm looking into this matter the dipper the rabbit whole gets and I give-up. Also noticed that other liveries are mentioning that 'fixed tanks' so I guess is a thing must be...fix. So any guidance how to do it myself will be much appreciated! nullnull

  14. Well I have nothing to add to this I don't see a need to attach any track to it, to make it overcomplicated. Run the sequence measure and check timings. Nothing more. I lean to believe that someone who was checking is mismatching it and counts 7sec from StartUp light extinguished, but not from 50% reached that's it

  16. Hear me out, I have a sneaking suspicion a FF SU-25 might be on the cards. They announced and previewed the updated model and textures quite some time ago, January if I remember correctly. I'm clutching at straws here but surely it doesn't take this long to release and inject an updated model and textures? My theory is that they are going to test the waters with the MIG-29 sales and make a decision on whether it would be worth it or not. To me, it just seems odd they cherry picked the SU-25 out of quite an extensive list of FC aircraft to update. Mind, the current one has the awful cockpit frame clipping going on, maybe half the reason for the clean slate. Who knows. Time will tell, thoug, a FF SU-25 would be an instant buy for me.

It's good we ask about these things and how they are progressing. It's good info, and it's good to share our wishes ! Someone always jumps out of the mist to respond or react to solve the problem, but only if we let it be known to others, right..

  19. Thank you for the quick respond! It really means a lot! I can see that your answer only confirms my point and there is a discrepancy in current sequence in module of MiG-29. So based on info provided above which is actually in line with what I've messaged you we should have it like this: This cycle: "APU goes on idle (not shut-down) for 4 seconds (+ dynamic process to idle and back ~ 3 sec) between engines" - in total of about 7 sec of rest period from the time when RH engine will reach 50% or 40sec elapsed, which is not a factor, since 50% are reached by 37sec elapsed since the start button pushed. But in fact in a module LH startup sequence starts when total 36sec elapsed from the time start button pressed which is exactly 7sec apart from 29sec of elapsed time when RH engine is only reaching it's 35%. All measured at standard ISA conditions So it's clear for me that someone mismatched these two different factors: point of disengaging of APU and disengaging of ignition. Not sure what you've been measuring, maybe you're using already different version of the Module
  20. This is how you want to bind the Warthog Throttles if you want to use the Cutoff detent. Pulling it over the detent will place the MiG throttle to OFF, bringing the throttle back forward to IDLE will place the MiG throttle in IDLE.

  23. I was making a joke We definitely need an advanced ATC system: no argument there. There are plenty of threads about it, and ED has reported development is in an advanced stage already since they asked publicly for voice actors and SMEs. Why would it be difficult? ED has been working on it for a while now.

  25. That's impossible when selecting predefined specific frequencies. And not with today's AI control options. But why would only the cockpits and aircraft designs be as advanced as they are today, and not the airports? With today's AI powered possibilities, it would not be such a huge step. It will be like an airport assistant using correct ground, departure, and arrival procedures and frequencies. See it like this as an idea, for example Incirlik AFB, the tower freq is 122.10. When selecting this freq on your comms panel, a drop-down menu appears with options : 1 startup, 2 taxi, 3 take off ect. Select an option of what you want to do, and the (AI) Tower responds with how it wants you to proceed, in junction with other air traffic (dynamic AI) moving around the airport, controlling traffic and procedures. It also handles handoffs like it does at a real airport, because in fact, there are a lot more important frequencies at an airport than just the Tower, right ? But yet simplified in the advanced simulation of DCS, so it becomes more user-friendly. I don't really want to start a difficult topic with all the unnecessary arguing, but just share a broader vision and open mind of possibilities that are available to us in today. You see AI integrated in almost every website, and even here on the DCS page... Isn't this how DCS started ? With just an idea of a more detailed flight combat sim than any other existing ? And remember, this was in 2008, 17 years ago (RU:17 OCT 2008: ENG 10 DEC 2008) ! Kind regards, RWC.
  26. It may be an issue to do that. Not sure if that is according to procedures. Never tried it myself. AFCS damper may also become issue if all 3 trimmers are not centered. But try again and wait for gyro to spin up 30-40 seconds. Do not disengage main gyro switch on this panel to test standby gyro ! Actually try not to touch anything. After 30-40 seconds on keyboard press J + 9 keys, both at the same time and hold for 1-2 seconds. Theoretically, it could work. In the end cage is used for reducing preparation time and only for emergency scramble to intercept upcoming threats. No need if you are "casual".
