  2. Every Mi-24 manual I have e read says keep it in MK unless above 70 degrees latitude or around magnetic anomalies. Mi-8 is a little different. That’s all.
  3. I agree, it's a good idea. In the options, there should be options to bind the throttle to all left engines, all right engines, each engine separately, and all engine together (the same propellers and mixture if they exist here). That would make sense. I use the Warthog throttle, where the throttles are split into two, and I use FSUPIC in MSFS, where I can bind a single throttle to all left and right engines together (in multi-engine aircraft), which makes engine management much easier. I hope the developers follow this approach. +1.
  4. Nevermind, I tested the track and it doesn’t work at all. I get an error. Something about an unexpected end of the data. Another bug. It’s either because it’s too big of a file or I named it too long? This has happened before. I’ll try to remember to upload another one if it happens again, but I’m using the HMD now to select targets so not likely.
  5. I can't visualize that, in my head, without a cartoon "SPROING!" sound effect.
  6. Back in the day on Aces High some of the best Corsair sticks would use them in turn fights on the deck. Not only to get speed down to bring the wonder flaps into play, but if you pull too hard, stalled it, and hit the deck you MIGHT bounce back up again, lol (I actually did see a guy do that).
  7. The Corsair is a lot of airplane, but it's actually DAMN good in a turning fight. Excellent rate of roll, very effective rudder, and good flaps.
  8. I've got a LONG history with the Corsair going back to Aces High over twenty years. IMO the Corsair is best when you use the vertical during maneuvers. Don't turn flat. Use high and low Yo-Yos to manage your E state. Also, going vertical will let you cut some of your horizontal turn distance off, allowing you to cut inside an opponent that has, ostensibly, a tighter turn radius. If you can't get lead without scrubbing your E, or if you're not going to get nose on target, try a barrel roll attack: Before he breaks past you pull up and barrel roll AWAY from him, and continue the roll until you can put your lift vector in front of him. Use that big barn door attached to the tail to help swing your nose around and drop back in behind him. Beware that you may lose visual for a moment during the initial break and need to pick him up quickly once you've rolled inverted. Be liberal with the application of that rudder. The Corsair has a VERY good one, and often you can get guns on for a snapshot by kicking the rudder to haul the nose over when your opponent thinks he's managed to slip out of reach. If you need to, remember those flaps. Those first two notches will automatically blow up when their speed is exceeded, and drop back down again as your airspeed decreases, basically making them automatic combat flaps. You might lose a little acceleration, but this will really help your turns. Remember that the Corsair's rate of roll IMPROVES with airspeed. Other than the 190s, the Corsair should out-roll any of the other Warbirds at high speeds. Take advantage of that. And when all else fails, point that big nose at the deck and run like hell.
  9. Unfortunately, unless you agree to come to asc headquarters for a laser scan, i wont be able to show your body in vr.
  10. Same here. If flying CAS with a lot of turning and twisting, GPK introduces too much gyro drift.
  11. That's not so hard that you’d have to call yourself a man for it
  12. L-39ZA can carry R-60s and R-13s, the PK-3 gunpods (which are absolutely fantastic for soft target work), and it comes with a bruiser of a gun in the Gsh-23L in its underslung pod.
  13. Access the F7 AWACS menu as soon as you get instructed by Magic (not Wizard, sorry) - you should get a picture of all the bandits accross the mountains. Stick to your waypoints as far as practicable in order for the triggers to activate correctly (so after engaging the Flankers return back to waypoint 2 and orbit until you get instructed to deal with the Fulcrums. Once you've wacked the Fulcrums you ought to be cleared to RTB- meanwhile Dodge 5 will engage the Fencers on the other side of the AO). ESC and message history.
  14. Hello everyone, I’m working on a structured aviation project within DCS World, and I’d like to connect with former military pilots or certified flight instructors who may be open to a private conversation. This is not a request for personal coaching. The goal is to build something larger — a structured environment inspired by real aviation (within the military disclosure boundaries) — and I’m seeking subject‑matter experts to help validate and shape the vision. Here’s how it works if you reach out: First, we’ll have a short call to get to know each other. I’ll provide a general overview of the project. If you’re interested in going further, we’ll both sign a basic Non‑Disclosure Agreement. I’ll then share the complete vision and what I’ve put together so far. If we both want to proceed, we’ll define a professional contract together that fits both parties’ needs. There is no financial risk or obligation on your part — you’ll never be asked to put in money, only time if you choose to participate. If you’re curious, please send me a DM and we can set up a short call. Thanks, Delta Chango Alpha
  15. Any attack profile demanding a steep angle is their intention, really. It sounds like you're conducting your runs too slow.
  16. Land softer. I see this happen all the time in multiplayer sessions with the planes that come in too hard, too fast, and/or not at the right attitude. The tail hook does get damaged easily and parts fly. I’ve had a few bolters myself where I left my tail hook on deck I’m not sure yet if the parts that fly around originate from the aircraft or the carrier deck, but either way, it’s from a less-than-optimal landing.

  18. The MiG-25BM SEAD/Bombing instant action mission has a mini-tutorial on the bombing procedure in the description. If you are using the RB instead of the BM, you can open the mission in the Mission Editor (the file is located in the Missions\QuickStart subfolder of the main mod folder) and remove the SAM site in order focus on the bombing. Also inside the main mod folder there is a Tracks_Tacview subfolder that has a track file of the mission, though due to the nature of track files, the bombing might not be as accurate as in the originally flown mission (especially depending on the DCS version), but the procedure is the same. The crucial aspect to a planning and flying an RB or BM bombing mission is navigation - setting the waypoints and altitude in a way, so that you can reach the appropriate altitude (around 19-21 km is optimal), the appropriate speed (around mach 2.2-2.4 is optimal), and appropriate direction at the appropriate distance from the target waypoint (around 100-120 km is optimal), so that when the autopilot is activated it has enough time to stabilize before reaching the bomb release point (the exact range depends on speed and altitude, but for the optimal altitude and speed it's around 40 km from the target). Hope this helps!
  19. It would be really cool for the MC-130J to have the ability to carry fuel bladders and then land on on a road or austere location where you can establish a FARP to refuel helicopters. Or to land to execute personnel recovery.
  20. I thought they were for dive bombing
  21. Don't think 120 has been cleared for the Super yet. It's still an option on my light in this latest version.
  22. I have a Honeycomb Alpha and Bravo along with my HOTAS so I'm set!
  23. A kind soul was kind enough to look into the problem. The following two files should be overwritten in the skin folder. Have a nice day. description.lua HB_F14_LOD1_3in1.dds

  25. I saw one on eBay yesterday when I was price checking the G2. I think it was $75 USD. Most of the used G2's were $150. Shipping to Australia though might be a problem to as shipping costs are high. Maybe look on the used market in Australia. I think I have V2 R2, or something like that. I don't recall exactly. Found it, ships to Aus too https://ebay.us/m/WZwY8m
