The DCS titles simulate aircraft at a level of fidelity that is impractical to acquire without the assistance of the manufacturer and/or a user of the hardware. And since they simulate combat platforms, "a user of the hardware" means a country's military. The militaries don't use the consumer video game product; they contract ED to produce training software to their specifications, and in return permit ED to release a video game utilising some of the data they were provided to be able to make the training software. Training pits aren't the only thing needed; DCS A-10C Warthog was made possible by ED getting a contract to provide a desktop training simulator to assist pilots transitioning to the "C" variant.2 points

Multi monitor set-up guide: DCS-A10c & BlackShark 2 Display your MFCDs, CDU, RWR etc on a 2nd, 3rd etc monitor Initial note: This guide is to help people create bespoke multimonitor configurations in DSC-Warthog, no matter what your configuration the principles are the same. Please add any tips or correct any errors i have made. I'll adjust this accordingly. My set-up is two 22inch displays side by side, i'll use this as the primary example, but the logic covers any set-up. I have included several monitor set-up examples to help explain the principles. Essential Requirements: Full screen OFF (ingame). Extended desktop enabled in Windows. The 'primary' monitor, in Windows, needs to be your top left most monitor, otherwise you may have problems. You need to create one lua file. BlackShark 2 note: Shkval is Left_MFCD Abris is Right_MFCD ** Before editing DCS files please read this post: http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=599686&postcount=1 The Guide: 3 steps Step 1: 1st thing you need to do is workout your total resolution of your combined monitors. Use the image below to help you work this out if you are unsure. Here you will find 3 example layouts.. Note this figure down, this is your combined resolution. Step 2: Create you own bespoke multimonitor *.lua file and save it here: \Eagle Dynamics\DCS A-10C\Config\MonitorSetup\ How do this: (Read through this entire section before starting your *lua file), 1st time through you might well go WTF!, but trust me it is not that complicated. :) First look at the default existing files in this location; (\Eagle Dynamics\DCS A-10C\Config\MonitorSetup\). They are good examples and the default ones provided with the game: There is one example original ED file: LMFCD+Camera+RMFCD.lua My example: My_example.lua NOTES: What it all means: ED have used wording rather than numeric x/y coordinates. This is to allow flexibility. You can also use this format, but i find it more complicated, so i use the numeric pixel option. In ED's method screen.width = the combined width of all your monitors, (x), screen.height = the combined height of all your monitors, (y). So for me screen.width = 3360 (2x1680), screen.height = (1050) I wanted both MFCDs on my 2nd monitor, this is located on the right of my main monitor. Both my monitors are 1680x1050. Center = your cockpit view x=0, y=0; is always located at the top left corner of your 'primary' monitor, in Windows. The x & y coordinates always refer to the top left corner of each element. i.e the location of each MFCD is their top left corner. You do not generally need to edit viewDx, viewDy or aspect. But it's worth checking the aspect ratio. This is calculated by dividing your width by height of you cockpit monitor. name = is the name that will be displayed in the game options drop down under Monitors. (Make it unique) width = & height = are x & y resolutions in pixels associated with each item, cockpit (centre), MFCDs, RWR, CDU etc. Look at the spoilers below to explain the x/y system: Screen coordinates explanation: 3 example setups to help explain screen coordinates. Both x & y start on the top left corner of the left most monitor. x goes across the horizontal while y goes down the vertical. My example set-up displayed: - putting it into practice, refer to my lua file My_example.lua above to understand what is going on. Ok now you should be able to start creating your own bespoke multi-monitor file accordingly to your own set-up, if i have made this clear enough and you have wrapped your brain around how this all works. I'd suggest you use my example above and edit it to suite your setup. You need to save this file as file type .lua and save it in \Eagle Dynamics\DCS A-10C\Config\MonitorSetup. Step 3: Launch the game.. go to Options. (Here you need to do two things) Firstly you should now be able to select your bespoke file from the drop down list labelled; MONITORS (If it is not in the list you have most likely made a small mistake with the lua code.. check for missing { , ) etc. if any part of the code is missing it will not be available to select.) Secondly you need to enter your combined resolution, you can simply type this in. This is the total resolution you worked out at the start of this guide. See image below: Your aspect ratio will alter itself. General Notes: You can edit you monitor file on the fly, i.e without having to quit the game. Can save a lot of hassle. If you don't get the results you want simply quit flight, alt tab, edit the file, alt tab back and click fly again... your new setting will be used. I hope this is clear enough. Enjoy. I had a few people ask me about my Warthog stand that I built, so I figured I would make a quick thread for anyone who might want to build one themselves. It should require a little bit of woodworking experience, but nothing too extreme. I didn't need any special tools, I used a miter box and table saw for all the cuts, but you could do it all (carefully!) with a portable circular saw. I also used a chisel, drill, knife, pencil, a nail, a pair of safety glasses, a couch for a quick break, and a can of soda part way though as a quick pick-me-up. On to it now. I think it's pretty self-explanatory for the most part: The stick had the original base removed and is attached to a piece of plywood. That piece is then attached to the next piece with two socket head screws into two T-uts so it's easy to take the stick off if needed. The next two pieces are attached to each other with four bolts that have nuts on the top and bottom of the very bottom piece that can be adjusted up and down to change the height of the stick. The bottom plate is screwed to the 2x4 tripod base. The throttle stand is built with three pieces of plywood to and a few 2x4 blocks to make a base. It's attached to the tripod with two more socket head screws through a block on the tripod and one on the throttle stand into two T-nuts. The Throttle base is built the same way as the stick base, with four bolts to adjust the height. It is attached to the throttle stand with one bolt that allows it to be rotated a bit depending on what you need. The throttle stand and and stick can be removed and the tripod can be folded up for storage or transport: Feel free to ask any questions.1 point

А какое у вас вообще право видеть экран пользователя, - это, что, oDesk и вы платите ему деньги? Интересно, сколько времени прошло бы с начала продаж, до отправки этих разработчиков с их секретным механизмом лесом за подобный "спайваре"? Это не прикол - это маразм, ибо получается, что все игроки по умолчанию "падонки" и постоянно должны доказывать обратное. Да ради Бога, я ее и не навязываю. Сервер ваш, вы его и танцуете.1 point

Quite welcome latearrival. I'll be moving all the radio commands as soon as I'm sure they're no longer a WIP. I have to wait as I'll combine them all for better performance. For instance, I won't have "Wingman 1" (wait for menu) Engage (wait for menu) armored targets. I'll use "Wingman one engage armored targets". Then make one for each wingman. That means hundreds of commands, but it works so much better.. see my FC2 profile. Concerning your "check" recognition problem.. I'm not real sure. A period means pause, and two periods means two pauses. Perhaps we have different versions? I'm using 2.3.1. I would suggest that you use a text editor (I like ultraedit) and replace ".." with "." within the XML file.1 point

Yes I looked it up in the game options, set the options to game avionics & flight model, ran one of the instant action missions, and tested it out a bit. I figured if the OP was expecting something like FC then he might be happier with game mode.1 point

nomdeplume, he needs attention tonight apparently. Folks, pretty sure IF they use steam it would be a side by side release. It will only provide a large influx of purchases due to increased accessibility and visibility. That means more cash for ED to make great things! :thumbup:1 point

That seems like a really bizarre conclusion to jump to... and you're being incredibly melodramatic. Have you been drinking or something??? :) Just because they're investigating the possibility of releasing the game on Steam doesn't mean they're suddenly going to drink the Valve cool-aid and make Steam a requirement. They already have their own payment and distribution infrastructure, which was recently updated (merging of the two sites). They have already licensed their own copy-protection system. I hardly think that the fact they've decided to do compatibility testing with the world's largest digital distribution platform is an indication that they've suddenly decided to completely change their sales model. Black Shark is available on Steam, and it's also available on the DCS site like it's always been, and so are its patches. If you don't want to use Steam, then don't.1 point

Ну про Су-25СМ я и не сомневался, про такой молодой самолёт врядли будет информация. Про Су-25Т - думаю, у ЕД не вся информация по нему, в самолёте систем много. Су-25 - вот тут не знаю, АФМ ЕД для него реализовало, значит необходимые доки были, систем у него меньше, они старше, следовательно документы для них легче добыть. Су-25 не самый лёгкий в освоении самолёт, отсутствие большинства "достижений цивилизации" типа ИЛС, ГПС и ТВ, естественно что ЕД его сейчас реализовать не очень выгодно, даже если они могут, это не современный истребитель с ИЛСами, УР, радаром и проч., на котором все хотят полетать. Про ТМ - ну это всем понятно, что доков нет, я просто пытался объяснить, что даже если бы они были, смысла в реализации такого почти "опытного" образца мало. Хотя, к слову, кое-какие документы по Су-25 (связанные с аэродинамикой) и даже по Су-25Т (общее описание самолёта и документ по Шквалу) на форуме проскакивали. Дружище, я это прекрасно знаю, возможности ЕД ограничиваются западными 4+. ЕМНИП, ЕД вообще говорили, что следующим Су-25 точно не будет. Просто ЕД говорит, что Су-25Т вообще не будет реализовываться только по причине того, что в серии его нет, зная возможности Су-25 и Су-25СМ (отсутствие у них ТВ) хотелось бы поднять эту проблемку. Как онлайнщик я реально не понимаю, каким образом эти Грачи будут атаковать цели, прикрытые теми же ЗРК Стрела-10, Тунгусска. Х-25 с максимального зума взгляда пускать - это уже ближе к нереалу. В перспективе (ну там лет через 10:)) если будет выбор между реализацией базовых Су-25 и Тэшки, от Тэшки просто так нельзя отказываться ИМХО. Я тоже за реализацию более "старших" ЛА. В ракетных боях Локона вообще на любом истребителе летать не надо:) По впечатлениям от ганзо;):D1 point

"игровых авиасимуляторов" - полно. Достаточно купить xbox. Полноте. а вот качественно, скрупулезно смоделированных аппаратов - раз два и обчелся. Кликабельный кокпит - это не просто набор виртуальных тумблерочков/кнопочек. Он приучает правильно мыслить. А так - это обычный CS получается, по сути. Ибо там тоже надо уметь быстро считать, принимать решения - если хочешь достичь выскоих результатов, а не слыть мясом. Современные владельцы реплик самолетов тех времен, они что - ради "популять" свои самолеты холят и лелеют? А вот как раз продвинутая физика и моделирование систем в нынешних симах - они там в виртуальной глубине. Пусть я летаю уже второй десяток лет, но не имея в своем распоряжении работающий "ж-метр", уже перестаешь замечать существенную разницу между физикой виртуального полета на F-14 в "TomCat: Fleet Defender" и оной на виртуальном Spitfire MkI/II... Как тут не помянуть добрым словом ED. Есть недостатки у "Черной акулы", но хотя бы за одно то, что устояли перед соблазном - не делать "кликабельный кокпит" - глубокий им за это респект. IMHO.1 point

Ugh. :disgust: Look, I'm not trying to usurp the ED wiki or anything like that. To be honest I wasn't even aware that ED had a wiki until I had already been working on my site for months. By that point I had a specific idea for what I was trying to create. The ED wiki focuses on a completely different topic than my wiki (troubleshooting and technical info). It also has no indication at all about: What types of content they want How that content should be organized Limitations on what can be added (for example, will they be OK with quoting extensive portions of the A-10 flight manual?) What content license they use. This matters for importing content from Wikipedia, for example. Whether they are OK with including information which is not specific to ED games. For example, my wiki has a page about how jet engines work, which is important background information but doesn't directly pertain to DCS. Is that going to be OK with ED? Whether they will by OK with referencing games not produced by ED. For example, say I'm writing an article about CCIP and make a reference to Falcon 4. Is that going to be deleted by ED? Whether they will be OK with hosting potentially hundreds of megabytes of files and images, including large PDFs like the flight manuals? In short, I had spent months working on my site, and I didn't want that effort to be wasted or deleted because someone at ED decided they didn't agree with the content I was writing or how I had it organized. I had a specific idea for what I was trying to create, and therefore I decided to continue on with my site rather than trying to graft my content onto someone else's wiki that is organized and maintained completely differently.1 point

Здравия Желаю, Не давно вернулся в ЛокОн... хотел бы найти виртуальную эскадрилью которая бы приняла меня чайника в ряды... одному против АИ скучновато летать. Мой временной пояс -5.
