**UPDATE** Voiceover volume level fixed! In this tutorial, I go over the HSI, TACAN navigation, and the ILS. Some of it is repetative from my TACAN tutorial, but thought I would include it all in one video.2 points

I'm pleased to announce that my app has been approved and is now available for free download on the apple iTunes app store. Just search for iWarthog in the store. It is simply a companion to DCS A-10 that features: -Interactive checklist from the DCS flight manual -Emergency procedures from the DCS flight manual -Comprehensive Mission Data Card that allows users to create/edit/delete information for separate missions -Zoomable Airbase PDF diagrams -And a reproduction of the UI "Encyclopedia" (with all aircraft metric information converted to US measurements for us that are behind the curve in the states! ;) ) I hope the community finds some use for it and it helps in some way to improve your simming experience. Also would like to thank ED for letting me use their info in my app, as well as Shu77 for his airport diagrams, and WarriorX for his mission card ideas. This is my first "released" iPhone app, so I'm open to all kinds of feedback. If there's something you think I should add/delete/modify, please let me know and I'll see if I can make the changes for future updates. Also, if there is enough demand, I'll port it over to the iPad and make it even better for the larger screen interface. One last note. I have dedicated a lot of my time and effort into this app and released it for free. If you like it and want to donate a small something, here's my support page with a pay paypal link: http://dcsa-10iphoneapp.blogspot.com/2011/06/iphone-app-is-alive-on-itunes-store.html Thanks everyone and enjoy! -sickdog2 points

Here are some of my shots from the air show that took place in Turkey last weekend. This was the first time that I have been in an airshow, it was amazing. Besides Turkish Stars and Solo Turk acro teams, there were teams from USA, Italy, France, Croatia, Pakistan and many more that I dont remember now. It was really great to see those aircrafts flying. On the static exibit site, there was a Mig-29, a Saab, a JF-17, two Eurofighters and a Tornado along many other aircrafts. More shots to come in the following days, as soon as I edit the photos. It takes to much time to edit:)2 points

Latest Version 1.1 or 1.1S for Servman This mission takes after my Operation Saturn mission. It uses the same system setup, but from a different part of the map and different task. Operation Pluto V1.1: Situation Last week we have taken Krasnodar and the adjacent airfield. We are now conducting Operation Pluto. The area to the west, east and south of Krasnodar are hostile. Your A10s will soften the area for our ground forces. You will also have some help from the 22nd fighter squadron and the 159th CAB. Let them kill the SAMs in the area before getting to deep into enemy territory. This mission requires imputing coordinates in the cdu. Plan Your flight (Pontiac Flight) will take off and call JTAC Uzi. Type TASK or task in the chat to get tasking from UZI. JTAC UZI TASKING Type TASK into chat to get tasking from UZI. If you miss tasking, at anytime you can type TASK in chat to get the task. After a task is complete, when you are ready for the next task type TASK in the chat. Springfield (4 F16s) and Chevy (2 Appachies) will be doing SEAD to find SAMs and AAA in the area. We dont expect them to kill them all. Be careful and read note below. We also will have supply and reinforcement flights coming to the airfield through out the mission. NOTE: (Please read to avoid frustration) Populated areas on the map are known to have SAMs and AAA. Be very cautious around cities and towns. Flying low over any town or city might end your flight early. Frequencies: 22nd FS -----------132.00 159th CAB-------- 118.00 Texaco --------------151 5X TCN Operation Pluto V1.1.miz Operation Pluto V1.1S.miz1 point

I think it would be a good idea to let the community know the changes in the ramp start procedure in regards to the HARS. This is of course listed in the 1.1.0.8 Readme, but some people are doing more flying than reading. As you all know, 1.1.0.8 is introducing the HARS correctly being the default Navigation Mode when doing a ramp start. It was EGI mode previously. With the HARS mode active, you will not get any FPM/VVI in the HUD, and you will not be able to arm the EAC. If you switch from HARS mode to EGI mode after complete INS Alignment, then the FPM/VVI returns, and you can arm the EAC.1 point

Well after buying myself the warthog hotas and about 10 hours worth of self learning trial by error I completed my first weapons delivery test scenario, dropping lgb's and cbu's and firing mavericks at bridges, armour, aa and some troops, all with a kill in a tame live fire environment :) God damn this sim is awesome, not even missing the ffb by changing from my msff2. I can do basic nav and weopons now, the flying part os peezy any way so landing and take off no biggie from the start, in fact the SU25 felt more fickle in lomac tbh, wish I could merge those two into one sim as I loved flying the frog. I spent lots more time with ka50 and never felt this comfortable so quickly, and I still fly that like crap tbh, user error for sure eh !! The feeling of satisfaction went of the scale once I cracked my test mission, really need to grasp nav, flight systems fully now, I had a wing fire the other day with no idea how to cut fuel to that tank and transfer it (if possible), that stuff can all come in time and practice now I have learnt the meat and potatoes of this sim !! Tactics, weapon deployment envelopes., missile evasion all high on my next hit list. Man this rocks, did I say that already ?? :)1 point

The computer is a giant minuscule calculator. Take a huge mathematical equation, and try to split it between 5 people so each people solves 1/5th of the equation, and then order them all to work simultaneously and arrive at a correct result. Impossible? No, you must break the equation in parts that are independent from each other first, calculate them, and then do a final step to unite all smaller pieces to achieve a final, single result. Problem is you reach a wall where you can't split anymore parts of the equation in smaller independent pieces, therefore they must be calculated sequentially. Its an analogy, but believe me it is very close to what multi-threading programming is.1 point

I know the notion is quite popular on the Polish forums ;) but, thankfully, it's far from being true and RoF, for example, is a slap on the head for those who believe so.1 point

hold one of the bottom buttons down until the list comes up then select the TAD and put it where you want it.1 point

I'm not programmer, but I think I an interject with some naive common sense. It seems to me that at the moment, whichever game I play, all four of my CPU cores are never maxed out. Further, it doesn't seem implausible to have 8x cores on a CPU, we have 6 already. Maybe we do already have 8. Is it not then safe to assume that with a 6core CPU @ 4ghz + per core, or an 8 core CPU with the same spec, coupled with sufficiently programmed software that makes absolute maximum use of every single core, that some of these wishes could become fact? Let's be honest, a decent quadcore at 4ghz maxes this game with ease...Double that and can't the other 2 or 4 cores not handle all the graphics and environment physics effects going? It seems that it's less a limitation of technology (as our technology can be stacked, for example SLI, multicore CPUS), and more a limitation of software programming to make full use of a computers available potential. With sufficient programming capabilities, would it not be possible to divide a game as follows: Core 1 - Flight dynamics and avionics Core 2 - Ballistics Core 3 - Friendly AI Core 4 - Enemy AI Core 5 - Environment processing Core 6 - something else that needs doing...Repeat until core limit reached... Apply the same process to the new multi GPU cards, one for water, one for terrain etc etc... Do we really need a quantum computing for this?! From a non educated point of view, I can't understand why it isn't possible with current technology to have games that look like Crysis, are as realistic as DCS A10 and have ground level AI on a level of Shogun 2: Total War. Considering all of these games currently run fine on a dual core processor...Perhaps I'm wrong, and if so...Why?1 point

I'm a complete newb, been working on a checklist application the last few days as I learn how to fly. Then, today, I just found iWarthog! Very nice. Still, if you are looking for something much simpler, that isn't a standalone app, but a website based checklist (using jquery mobile), you can try this (also, works on iPhone iPad, or Android, or just a web browser). I'll probably add checklists for more things (landing, armament, etc) - but like I said, I'm a complete newb, so... if anyone finds this useful and wants to suggest additions or changes, let me know. I also think I could add lists for other simulators. So, ideally, you pick your game, your aircraft, and then the list you want.... Anyway, here it is: http://www.cubit.net/dcs/index.php :pilotfly:1 point

Hi Really liked your previous mission. Fired this one up this afternoon and could not get any tasking from UZI. Seemed like script kicked in as I got the message but got no reply when typing task in chat. I was just hosting the mission myself and not using serverman. Thanks for the mission it looks nice with SEAD flights Update Well after some testing I realised it was my install or rather windows UAC that was interfering with the scripts. Will give the mission a proper run tomorrow Thanks1 point

...for those who couldn't view the first, here is a second with no music. I managed twice the fuel this time in one very long drink. I think it's time to start practicing something else :music_whistling: jBpiiUifRFc1 point

With FTP and HTTP you are downloading file(s) from servers... with torrent you are downloading from people who have downloaded the files from their PC's, it's called peer-to-peer connection but for you to use torrent you need torrent manager... uTorrent is what I use1 point

Hi there, wanted to share a few screens I took after fiffling with the files a bit. Framerate is mostly quite good so far, but I might scale it down just a little. Man, this sim looks great...1 point

Every time I try to input UTM coordinates I get an error on the CDU. One thing I've noticed is all the post say that UTM come with 2 letters and 6 numbers. Every time its given me a 9 line it has been 2 letters and only 5 numbers. Is there something more that should be put in? I usually have to use L/L coordinates that they send thru as MSG that get on MFCD. Thats fine, but I'd like to create a WP with UTM. Whats the deal?1 point

Clean and low on fuel MiG-29 can beat the Eagle and the Flanker, thing is you need to be lucky to have no or almost no weapons and little fuel when you find yourself in a merge, with little fuel MiG-29 can sustain speed much easier and can keep its best turn rate. PS: I have to agree about the R-27R, 15km is just it's max range... 5-10km is where it's right time/distance to use it, it's more agile then R-27ER. against AI you can easy defeat any aircraft with actives if they fire at r-max... you go to gimble and desent straight away when you are expecting a shot and then keep turning and changing altitude constantly, but you should not keep pulling very high G's when doing this... 3-4G is nough and you keep good speed while doing it... as his missiles run out of fuel and are using KE your constant manouvering will bleed its energy much quicker and as it gets close to you the enemy will be well withing range for an R-27R shot and you only need at that time to pull hard into the missile and extend to other side and the same time take your shot... the enemy will have to go defensive straight away and if your missile gets spoofed you fire a follow up shot... and if that one failes also you are already in the merge range and can use HMTS and your cannon :) Only time this will not work if there is secondary enemy coming at you as he is still able to track you and take you out... vs humas... well plenty are smarter then AI, but also some are easier :D1 point

REMINDER: BACK UP ALL FILES BEFORE YOU TOUCH THEM. 1) Unlock the maximum string length: within ...Games\DCS A-10C\Scripts\UI\CommandMenu.lua, search for and change local menuItemMaxLength from 26 to 100; this is the cutoff length where it uses (...) 2) Change the radio dialog size within ...Games\DCS A-10C\FUI\Resources\Radio\menu.res, make the two changes highlighted in red (reduce existing number by 300, this will extend the dialog left by 300 pixels).1 point
