Herewith a quick guide I put together that firstly illustrates the setup of a SADL network prior to a Flight by looking at the Call-Sign, OWN and GROUP ID entries and thereafter Illustrating the use of the SADL network in an Operational Multiplayer Environment, specifically focusing on A - The Creation and Transmission of Target Assignments between Players utilizing Markpoints, B - SPI Broadcasting and C - Instant Messaging. I have intentionally focused this guide on markpoints only insofar as Target Assignments are concerned as I have found that it's quick and easy. **Disclaimer: Any and all erors are mine alone and not indicative of the SIM and attendant content. If I aid one fellow Virtual Aviator by this guide then I consider it Time Well Spent** 3 points

Thanks all! I just did the tutorial, read the quick start guide and asked a few people some questions on multiplayer mode. I learned how to "trim" on multiplayer mode. I'm too cheap to buy a joystick. Maybe after I read the manual, I'll buy one. What joysticks do you all use? What do you recommend? I only have one friend that plays this game. He doesn't even know how to play it. My video features the best A-10C landing. Period.2 points

--- IMPORTANT --- IF YOU DOWNLOADED THIS FILE BEFORE 27/07, PLEASE DOWNLOAD IT AGAIN AND REPLACE THE FILE WITH THIS ONE. There was an error in the original file that removed the Fire Handle light effect. Please accept my apologies. The problem has been fixed, no harm done. COMPATIBLE WITH 1.1.0.9 Thanks to KLaFaille's excellent Flickr photos from the A-10C, I've been able to update the UFC panel textures. Installation instructions included in .zip. Comparison shots below. If you like it, rep it. Happy hunting. This has also been uploaded to User Files, see link in signature below.1 point

I know that "double post" is not quite the right term - so lets call it "obsolete post" (EDIT: the correct term is "Norrised" reference: http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=1243183&postcount=7 and http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=1244424&postcount=3 and http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=1246758&postcount=13) Anyway: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?p=1238294#post1238294 Have a look at post #4 + #5 EtherealN has just posted the same while I have written my answer. My question to the Moderators: Some other forums have the function to inform you that someone else posted in the meantime while writing and give you the choice to edit/cancel your post- is it possible to enable this feature on this board?1 point

If anyone is interested, the program for the Zigermeet Mollis airshow is including an A-10 Thunderbolt this year. http://www.zigermeet.ch/programm/index.php This is a great little airport for airshows as you stand on the service road right next to the runway with mountains around you. Bring those earplugs. Just upset that the wife organised a trip to Italy this weekend so I can not go. :( Cheers. :thumbup:1 point

Ok here it is, my first official mission for the community. Please tell me how you like it and any constructive criticism is greatly appreciated! Background: You are returning from a lone patrol, you're low on fuel and approaching final for landing. Your mission in this area has been to provide relief supplies, food, etc to a local village supporting our cause. Rebel insurgents have been patiently waiting to ambush these plans, and today looks to be the day. Mission Overview: Juliet 6-4 was the Blackhawk providing supplies, and has been shot down. The chopper crashed somewhere north of the village, and the pilot was heading for the hills north of the city. Rebels are gathering a search party from other towns, consisting of technicals and a command vehicle. The rebel leader is currently awaiting the arrival of the search parties at a key bridge. With the bridge and commander gone, the search parties hopefully have no way to get to the downed pilot. However, once you engage the commander, you are stirring the hornet's nest and expect more forces to join in with the rebels. We are not expecting the rebels to have any air forces but just be aware they may get support from local militias - capturing a downed US airman would do wonders for their morale. Sandy (Enfield 1-1), a rescue UH-60, is currently at hold point Charlie awaiting your go ahead to proceed in the search and rescue. You must escort Sandy both to and from the downed pilot, of course if you, Sandy, or the pilot are killed your mission has been a failure. Tips: You can either stay high, utilizing targeting pod, and standoff weapons or go NOE - Each has advantages and disadvantages. Adjust your default chaff/flare programs. Keep your head on a swivel and your eyes open. Current satelite images showing possible crash site and pilot location - Operation Provide Hope CSAR.miz1 point

The G27 is a great wheel. :) Hope you find one! I seriously regret selling mine, even though it took up too much space and I didn't use it much. I miss iRacing.1 point

I don't use the AI JTAC enough to know all the parameters that will cause it to issue an abort, but it does have a magical sense of what you're targeting and when you fire weapons. For example if you've checked in with JTAC and then spot a helo or Frogfoot and fire a Sidewinder at it, the JTAC will scream ABORT ABORT ABORT because it knows you've fired a weapon at something other than the designated target. Never mind the JTAC shouldn't really have any way of knowing you're fighting another aircraft, and even if they did they should butt out... I'm not sure if they'll say to abort if you come in from the wrong direction. It wouldn't surprise me either way. In most cases though, even if they have given you poor directions or chosen a bad weapon, you could just check out, kill the target(s), and then check in. They should proceed to give you any additional targets - one of the benefits of interacting with a computer.1 point

MoGas I try to use PS as little as possible... just some cropping and maybe slight brightness or contrast adjustment. I didn't have the spoter ticket, cause I don't find it necessary at Zeltweg - good spots to shoot airplanes for free ;) I was just below the "spotter hill" some 30m left of taxiway by the fence Part 3 - MiG-15, Turkish Stars, Team Blanix, Saab 105ÖE1 point

two tips. 1. Try to avoid the tutorials as much as possible. They frustrated me more than anything. I essentially learned just by flying as much as possible and posting on here the specific questions that I had. 2. Buy a joystick. You will not get anywhere without one. Make sure you have a throttle as well. It will serve you well for years, and there are bound to be many more flight sims which you will be able to enjoy within those next years.1 point

That has an easy answer. Fly to where they takeoff from. Once you know the enemy airport name, fly there and you will see action. Oh and RTFB. Read The F'n Brief :) If you have read the manual, know the basics and can tell friend from foe, you will get all the help you need when you jump online. Just ask.1 point
-
Well- this makes you rely on the instruments and forces you to fly as properly as FC allows.. So congrats.. stick with it. Labels teach you absolutely nothing. I would encourage you to turn off the rest of the easy modes too, but to each his own..1 point

Press "Esc button" and at the bottom right there should be a button that says brief, press that and when your all done reading it...press fly. While your reading the brief you can still see what's going on in-game. <---that's how it works in multiplayer, I don't play single player.1 point

The probably most easy thing to do is, buy the right sized cymbal felt washers and slip them under the spring. They can be cut to slip on and come in different thicknesses.1 point
-
Read the Brief, take note of enemy waypoints or frontlines, re-read the brief, use your radar to scan as much of the sky as you can - always, memorise bearings of first contacts, gather a rough picture and keep practicing. In Russian fighters, bandits are a single "square thing" while friends are a double "square thing". Get this right and your half way there, the rest comes with practice. With regards to A2G, if you don't read and understand the brief correctly then your flying blind. Go here. http://flankertraining.com/ironhand/news.html1 point

New version of the app is arrived !! we are now in 0.3. I have reworked the UI, better than the old one but not perfect I know ;) You can now have access to the check lists available in the flight manual. I have just rearranged them. But don't take care about these check lists because I know that everyone wants to use their own check list so in the next release you will be able to provide your own check lists with your own pictures and share them with your team or the community. If you like my work, and want to help me in the project, please consider using the donate button by clicking the menu button in the home page. Yes I want to add an encyclopaedia in the future, I think it will be great for mission designers, of course with pictures. Don't hesitate to e-mail me if you have some ideas about the UI and stuff like that. And everyone can e-mail me ideas at : yeepeekai at gmail dot com ;) Of course all new features will be added when existing features will be finished For the moment all you can use is the aidromes part of the app because I have added SHU77's airports diagram. If you want to have check lists and other stuff for Blackshark, not for the moment, but when you will be able to make your own check lists in the next release, why not add some check lists for blackshark ;) But if you think it can be usefull for users, why not considering making 2 apps, one for black shark, and one for Warthog... I don't know... First of all you can tell me by mail what can we change from the warthog app to make a black shark app1 point
