  2. Hi! This is a list of all typos/errors I found in the training missions that come with v1.1.0.9. I'd like to see them fixed in an upcoming patch. 1. A-10C Familiarization 1.1 Introduction to the A-10C No errors found 2. Aircraft Operation 2.1 Aircraft Start-Up 1. Training mission needs to reflect changes in 1.1.0.8: - explanation for caution missing when left engine reaches 50% core fan RPM (see here for details) 2.2 Takeoff and Basic Handling No errors found 2.3 Navigation No errors found 2.4 Landing 1. The "O" ("donut)" -> ("donut") light indicates proper speed. 3. Combat Employment 3.1 Digital Stores Management System (DSMS) 1. "Also, the profile name on the HUD now begins with an "M/" to indicate Manual mode." -> You don't see that any more on the HUD, because starting with v1.1.0.8 HARS is selected as default navigation mode. 3.2 AN/AAQ-28 LITENING-II 1. OSB-5 (-> 6) toggles LSS mode. OSB-6 (-> 7) selects between Laser, IR Pointer and BOTH designation modes. -> Text corrected, but sound file also needs to be updated! 2. ... on the keyboard to select FLIR BHOT (black hot) video mode. ... on the keyboard to select white-hot mode. -> according to TGP display the modes are mixed up (or is TGP display wrong?) 3.3 GAU-8/A and Unguided Rockets 1. Training mission needs to reflect changes in 1.1.0.9: "The main features of the CCIP Gun Reticle are the pipper dot in the center and ..." -> there are two pipper dots inside the reticle as of v1.1.0.9 (details see here) 3.4 General Purpose Bombs 1. ... and Minimum Release Altitude ("MIN ALT" with OSB-18. -> closing bracket after "MIN ALT" is missing. Although the closing bracket is included in mission file, it can not be seen, because it is on the right end of the message window. 2. Weapon profile name confusion - ir looks like the profile name was changed from MK82AHI to MK82APO, but text & voice was not adapted completely: a) Let's now configure the Mk-82AIRs by pressing OSB-19 to select "MK82APO" (-> text is correct, but voice says "MK82AHI") profile and then ... b) Now we'll take a look at CCRP mode. Select the "MK82AHI" (-> "MK82APO", text and voice wrong) profile by pressing ... c) Because we set-up the MK-82AHI (-> MK82APO) profile for a high-drag delivery ... 3.5 Precision-Guided Munitions No errors found 3.6 AGM-65 Maverick 1. Make the Maverick SOI by pressing the HOTAS Coolie Switch (-> Hat) RIGHT (long) command ... 2. Let's come off the target now and fly a few miles out for a second pass with the AGM-65H (-> AGM-65D). Employment of the AGM-65D will be identical ... 3. Select the AGM-65D (-> text is correct, but voice says AGM-65H) using either the SEL rocker key on the UFC ... 3.7 Air-to-Air No errors found 3.8 Countermeasures 1. Our first contact will be a ground-based Early Warning Radar (EWR) station, identified on the RWR as "EWR". -> Something wrong here, "EWR" is never displayed on the RWR...

  3. Amazing article about the 74th Expeditionary 'Flying Tigers' in Combat Aircraft magazine!! Without ruining the 4page article here is a couple of quotes from Hog pilots... Regarding the use of weapons in Libya "...if we carry two GBU-12's we will, by nature of the weapons pylons, only carry one GPS-guided bomb. The gun is used 99% of the time." Regarding the CSAR the A-10C were tasked to do after French Mirage went down in Libya "...securing the area wasn't a problem as I think the people in the towns had got the message that they really shouldn't mess with them. The aircrew were only 100m from the wreckage as they had baled out at 200ft and 170kts." I think it's amazing that the A-10C is not only involved in every war going on right now, but is kicking ass in them as well. How lucky we are to have an A-10C simulator come out as well....sim heaven.

  4. Hellou! First of all I´m not sure if this thread should be in Input-Output or here so if the administrator feels it should be moved please do so! Second, I would like to present myself, although this is my third post I haven´t presented myself properly! I´m Spanish but currently living in the UK and as most of you I shiver with pleasure everyday I find time to sit in front of the computer and start up the a10.:D And third I would like to present you guys my humble project! For me one of the best things from the C version upgrade are the MFCD, I just love how they look, how big they are how you can fidle around with all the buttons. I soon started considering buying the Cougar MFD to make things easier but I found it was a shame that they were so small...so I decided to give it a try and make my own! So far I´ve finished drafting them with aproximate dimensions, starting from the fact that the screen is 5´´. Also I am the lucky employee of a company with a few laser cutters :D so I have also been able to do some cutting/engraving tests... See below! In order to make bezel as thin as possible I chose to use some tactile switches, I know the feeling isn´t probably realistic but it was the only way to make the thing work. I designed a 1mm perspex board in which I could glue the switches on. To control everything I bought a LeoBodnar board which allowes 48 buttons (counting the 8 direction POV). I will only be using the OSBs so only need 40, maybe later will use the other 8 for something else. The wiring was quite painful (I´ve never solded before) and had to redo a few thing a few times :D. I used 2 ground wires only to limit the amount of cables, but also make failure diagnosing easier (with only one you can never be sure if the problem is the ground!) After all the soldering I tested the wiring and surprise....it WORKS :smartass: (wiring in progress...see below!) Thats kind of how it looks now except with all the wiring. I think I´m changing the way I will attach the buttons cover to the swithches and a few other things...I will put some schematics once I´m happy with the overall design. Hope you find it interesting! 5. Первый пошёл. Надеюсь никого не смутит такое не стандартное применение штурмовика от ганзиста илдвашника. Приятного просмотра! Прошу кого нибудь перевести на удобоваримый английский. The first went. I hope nobody will be embarrassed by such not standard application of hedge-hopper from ganzo Il-2 pilot. Pleasant viewing!

  6. Hi Tyger! Nice to see you too. I hope to someday have real free time from this "mini family". :D I definately agree that this flight model is second to none. I'm just pointing out things that other more experienced and more professional people than me have noted. For example the AlphaOneSix quote from previous page (I know he's not a pilot). I'm just wondering if this is as good as it gets or is there actually some play in the flight model tweaking. If this is just a limitation of the engine or something like that, I'm perfectly fine with it. Just thinking that if something should and can be done, then this is propably the last time devs are going to give the Ka-50 some attention. Oh yeah, sorry, here's the THREAD. Pirke77 is a pilot and for example Callsign.Vega says interesting stuff too. EtherealN: I'm aware that it's not the same people doing these, just figuring there's propably more than the graphics designers working on the patch also. :) I'm not demanding actions necessarily, only any possible info. :)

  9. Thank you for your feedback and corrections, derelor. As many people already know, A-10C was our first product to feature interactive training missions. It was also by far the most complex aircraft simulation we've done to day. Together, these two firsts mean that a lot of capability had to be developed from the ground up and a lot of experience gained. I am sure that the training modules will continue to improve in the future as we will be able to leverage the technology and experience gained with Warthog. Speaking personally, while I am overall pleased with the training missions, I understand the individual missions and the training module as a whole could have been better in a number of ways. We, too, would have liked to include a number of additional lessons that we either didn't get to or could not effectively implement in time. I can't promise now that more new official lessons will be made, but we've already released a cockpit arguments guide and also prepared a short document describing the cockpit triggers of the ME. With these two documents, we hope that some members in the community will have the interest to develop additional fully interactive training missions Certainly, there is already a great amount of very well produced community training material out there and we hope this will expand even more once users are able to take full advantage of the interactive cockpit triggers.

  10. ----------------------------- 07/08 Important Update ----------------------------- Please download the Combined Document Pack from HERE to obtain this file - All headings changed to Magnetic Heading - RWY designation updated based on Magnetic Heading - Chart uses the same data as vJaBoG32 Schleudersitz' Aerodrome Charts (ordnung muss sein) --------------------------------------------------------- I've updated my quick reference airfield guide for v1.1.0.9 I checked each airport, runway length, heading and ILS frequency in the Sim. This guide now includes runway elevation and length, as well as magnetic headings.

  14. You are not going to do AAR with trimming alone. While a solid trim at pre contact is crucial, AAR is ALWAYS a hands on thing. You need to stay on top of anticipating your airplanes response to your inputs. It's a little like playing chess. You need to know exactly what your input will cause and start to compensate as early as possible. The moment you slack off thinking 'oh this is stable enough, it's safe to let my guard down', that's the moment you are going to end up with that 135 parking its behind on your face.

  15. Patience and a very light touch. As Nate said, it is reportedly a PITA in RL (so they modelled it well) but by using very small adjustments (finger flicks across the hat for me sometimes) and a bit of back and forth it can be done with out driving yourself nuts. The light touch on the trim controls really matters with my x52 Pro (I use the POV hat for trim). The more you do it the easier it gets for what its worth.;)

  16. FYI The real A-10 is a ***** to trim also. Nate

  17. For some reason when ever I see that on the screen, I always get the song "Jingle Bell Rock" in my head, but replace jingle bell with gimbal roll lock. lol yes I am possibly insane.

  18. No- not up to now. But be sure there will be some when time is up. (I have some PMs from people that will attend at this contest) I think that everyone wants to fine tune his movie up to the last second. :)

  19. Very nice - Thank you guys. Well now its to late- I really not need a cockpit after I ejected. If somebody will make screenes` he can place a MiG-UB as static object and a active MiG-UB, eject and walk to the other static MiG. Its good for the body and makes a strong ass- BTW I have to go to the fitness studio :music_whistling: Uploaded with ImageShack.us

  20. Check out my newer post about my first official MP session - http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=77631 I played again yesterday with Snuggles, and I have to say I am enjoying MP more and more. It was just him and I on his server, and I got great hands on training which probably would have taken me days/weeks to learn but with his help I picked up within an hour or two.
