  1. That’s definitely not normal open beta stuff, my friend. (Welcome, btw!) There’s something wrong in your bindings, maybe conflicts or driver issues, but if your peddles work with other modules they’ll absolutely work the the Tomcat.
  2. Haha, ok. You get’em, you Big Serious Man. It’s becoming more so by the minute.
  3. Oh please, no you’re not. And if you are...bye I guess ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
  4. The CTD’s I posted earlier seemed to occur if I did a fast over-g of the aircraft. Yank back fast and hard on the stick, CTD. The crash logs have a LOT of sound errors at the moment of crash.
  5. Hm, always wondered about the “Flag is True/False” and “Flag is Flag” conditions. My flag skills are rudimentary at best, I’ll try playing with them tonight. Thanks!
  6. NineLine said 2019 in response to a snippy YouTube comment earlier this year but Wags has been walking it back in recent interviews and comment responses. I think 2020 is much more realistic for the F-16...if we’re lucky.
  7. :megalol: Ok bro, chill. Tyler makes it clear from the outset that, while not impossible, it's extremely unlikely the rumors are true, and spends most of the article explaining why. This is literally part of the opening: Nothing sensational about it. This the first time TWZ even mentions the rumors in an article and it's to debunk them. And the article is contextually relevant because of the recent high profile uptick in F-117 activity and re-emergence of the rumors in military aviation websites and blogs. The most sensational thing in the whole article is the subheader, which, if you're an even marginally competent news reader, you'll know is subject to Betteridge's Law.
  8. It should be reading as Condition group 1 (Condition 1,2,3,etc.), [OR] Condition group 2 (Condition 4, 5, 6, etc) [OR] Condition Group 3, and so on. I also changed the trigger to Switched Condition. Seems to be working (mostly) as intended now. What isn't working as intended is if a plane is damaged and tries to limp home it'll drop below the trigger altitude. As far as I can tell there isn't a way to make the triggers ignore an adversary-turned-noncombatant.
  9. Damn it. Meters. Of course DCS has mixed units, and in an unlabeled field smdh. Mars Climate Orbiter all over again. : ) I'm pretty sure multiple [OR]'s work. I've never stacked multiple conditions between each [OR] but I've used multiple [OR]'s a few times and never noticed them not working. I'll report back either way.
  10. I'm trying to create a soft deck of 8k ft. for a NTTR mission but not having any success. I'm using the "Altitude Lower Than" 8000 Condition while inside the Engagement Area Zone. For testing, all other units are parked at Nellis outside the Engagement Area Zone or not yet spawned. I enter the EAZone at [any altitude above 8k, tested up to 20k] but immediately get the triggered "Deck Broken" message. What gives? (The flag condition is unnecessary and I've tested without it with no change. It was just there when I took the screenshot.)
  11. Today's example: dcs.zip
  12. Totally agree. It has a snowball’s chance in hell of becoming a full module but I’d love it if it did.
  13. Tracks for all three examples. F-14EJECTFAIL.trk F-18EJECTFAIL.trk Ka-50EJECTFAIL.trk
  14. Haven't had CTD's until today. Log attached. A lot of sound errors. dcs.zip
  15. It served its purpose for many years, but yeah, can't say I ever thought trackIR was a well made product. Cheap shit components sold at a premium. By the end of its life mine was also held together with various epoxy's and the smallest impacts would snap it anew.
  16. Well said. :) The one thing I disagree with though is comparing the 14 to the 15 in the first place. The DCS F-15 is a sim/arcade hybrid with a good flight model, there's really no basis for comparison between operating an ultra-simplified F-15 and the most complex aircraft simulation in DCS World. Fly what you enjoy of course, and the engagements and results are fun to watch, but I consider the comparison mostly meaningless. I love the F-5, one of my favorite planes ever, real world and DCS. I know there are some blustery people claiming they can kill everything all day long with the F-5, but I honestly just don't believe them. The Tiger can certainly get kills when it's being sneaky (some of the most satisfying kills in DCS) and can mostly hold its own against same-era adversaries, but the lack of weapons reach, marginal energy reserves and poor low speed maneuvering are very real handicaps. These are also reasons I believe everyone should spend some occasional time knife fighting in the Tiger. It teaches you good energy management and forces creative tactical thinking, even if you still lose in the end. :) I absolutely expected the Tomcat's early low win rate against the F-18, and subsequent threads like this, long before its release. There is a TON of emotional investment in the F-14, and sure, a lot of it is justified. But in the comparisons we'll most frequently see (1v1) I think the Hornet is likely to keep the edge. To be truly effective the F-14 requires an intimate knowledge of a complicated radar, much more skilled airmanship, and efficient crew coordination. With the Tomcat's complexity people haven't even begun to really become proficient. It's still far too early to even be making these comparisons. I think the Cat will gain some parity against the Bug as time goes on, but it'll be six months to a year before I really start paying attention to these results. Don't forget, Hornet driver's were complaining about their lack of success against MiG's for the first few months after its release too. (Mark my words, the real forum flame wars will come when people start flying 16 v. 18.) Fun times, everyone!
  17. I frequently notice a left roll and it's almost always directly after AB usage and/or heavy maneuvering. Every time I've noticed the roll I have a fuel imbalance with 1800 in the left feed and <1000 in the right feed (the L and R digital numbers, not the tapes). In my case the imbalance seems to always self correct. During subsequent straight and level flight I can watch the right feed number rise again and after a few minutes there's no more left roll tendency. I checked HB's manual and it doesn't mention if AB is fed from only one system or not so I don't know if this is a feature or a bug, but every uncommanded left roll tendency I've experienced is almost certainly due to fuel imbalance. A more ambitious fellow can probably find the answer in NATOPS.
  18. I think the "Check Gear" call has been in DCS since I started playing. IRL it's much less common to hear it in the US of A than the rest of the world. In the states you're likely only to hear it if a controller notices something amiss.
  19. The Huey is only "locked" to the deck when its engines are off. As soon as you crank an engine it's sliding all over the place. While the F-18 is sitting still (relative to the ship) it's also locked to the deck. As soon as it starts taxiing the Hornet slips, though the severity is somewhat masked by the plane's forward movement. The slip and slide is painfully obvious though when slowly attempting to line up with the shuttle, until forward movement is low enough that the plane conspicuously re-locks to the deck. You know this. Perfectly said.
  20. Still broken, can't do carrier ops. Today's track, fresh DCS install, new mission. STILLFAIL.trk
  21. Thanks for digging this up Grimes. I knew it was likely to be a config parameter somewhere I just couldn't find the correct one in my testing. And since creating this thread I've gone VR so I can't see 10 miles anyways now.:smilewink:
  22. ...fifteen seconds after they call bingo fuel ten minutes into the mission.:smilewink:
  23. I voted no specifically because the poll is asking about an E. Another single seat hornet couldn’t be any more redundant. If it were an F...that might push me into the yes camp. Poor baby, is it nappy time?
  24. Sliding is back? When did the F-14 ever not slide? It’s been sliding from day one for me. If I do a cold start it’ll be a hundred+ feet from where I spawned before I can taxi.
  25. Notice the thread was closed. I think it’s safe to say it’ll never be fixed.
