  1. I used a 27" 1440p for a long time with a 1080ti. Was kind of the sweet spot in my opinion. It´s a big improvement over 1080p and the 1080ti handled it just fine, I guess a 3060ti should be similar if not better.
  2. My humble cockpit ... It started off as a simracing rig (and the front dashboard can still be swapped with the steering wheel, though changing the pedals and all the cabels is a bit of work)
  3. Not always. I don´t know what the rules are on steam, but for example, I own the F-16, the A-10II and the Persian Gulf map, but if I wanted to buy the Desert Storm bundle on steam, I´d have to pay the full price. In fact, I just tried it, I can´t even buy the bundle, there is only an option to buy as a gift.
  4. Well he could have just opened a thread asking "Hey, I have some questions about the campaign builder, can someone help ?" or "I can´t find the manual, please help" Instead he did it in a somewhat agressive and sarcastic way. He claimed that there was no manual that describes what he was looking for, which is false. I agree that it would be a brilliant idea to put a new entry "Manuals" or something like that within the game´s main menu that links to all the documentation. But you don´t have to know or struggle with DCS´s file structure, just typing "DCS manual" into google gets you to the required manual within seconds. Yes, it´s not on the first page of the download section if you don´t choose a language, you have to click to page two to find it... still takes less time than writing a post about how hard it is to find.
  5. But quite realistic. "Autumn (March–May) is generally mild. Some southern natives forests and vineyards display red and orange autumn foliage, especially in mid-April. Frost arrives notably earlier in the south and later in the north. Mean temperatures can exceed 22 °C (72 °F) in the northern parts of the country, while they can touch 16 °C (61 °F) in most of the central parts of the country, and less than 6 °C (43 °F) at the higher altitudes." (Source: Wikipedia) Winter starts in June there.
  6. Hey, I have DCS also installed on my D:\ drive. But some files, like your control settings, Mods etc. and also Liveries are saved in your user\***\saved games\DCS folder, which by default Windows puts on the C:\ drive. (not sure if that is what you mean, but that´s totally normal)

  11. Well then there´s another easy solution to find the manual. But, judging on the choice of words in the opening thread, this isn´t really about finding help, but to let off some steam...

    DCS - Steam

  13. Well, where else would you put it ? "DCS/docs" is imho a very easy and logical spot. Also, when I go to the online documentation of the website, the manual appears as the second entry on page 1:
  14. I interpreted it as abbreviations for certain cursewords that I won´t repeat here.
  15. Have you checked the User Manual in your DCS/doc folder ? From page 362-365 the campaign builder is explained.
  17. I can say, you´re not alone. After about two months flying the Gazelle, I decided to give the Harrier another spin yesterday. On my way to the target, I totally forgot how Mavericks work in the Harrier. So I had to pause and go back to study again. I agree with the "structured approach" Don´t start with a Liberation mission. They cause unnecessary stress because everything is timed. What I usually do is to create a simple training mission with just the aircraft in the hangar. Then I learn startup over and over until I get it. Then takeoff and landings, then I add some waypoints and practice navigation. After that, add some trucks to one of the waypoints and learn each weapon. And then do that over and over.
  19. To be honest, that´s the reason I bought CA, so yes. From time to time, I don´t feel like hopping in the simpit, putting on the VR headset etc. and instead just drive around with keyboard and mouse. But it´s really the "combined" part that interested me the most. Being able to drive around in a recon vehicle and lase targets for the other guys that sit in an A-10 or something, taking out SAM sites in a ground assault so your buddies in the Hueys can land safely... stuff like that.
  20. Well it doesn´t help that the Combined Arms manual is from 2013. As I said, the infantry and waypoint actions are setup correctly, as they will embark into the player-controlled Huey, and also the AI controlled APC just fine. The frustration is simply that the APC can transport the infantry group, as the AI has proven. They just won´t get in without a radio command in a player controlled vehicle. And unlike in the Huey, that command is not available in the radio menu when controlling an APC.
  21. You should always try to run things in your displays native resolution. So if your TV is a 4k TV, then your system recommendation is not wrong (3840x2160). The 3070 should be able to run DCS in 4k resolution, but you may have to lower some settings to get decent FPS but in the end it´s up to you if you fancy visual quality over FPS or the other way round.
  22. I chose the TPRs and don´t have anything negative to say about them, quite the opposite. I never used the Crosswinds myself so I can´t say which are better, but I prefer the pendular mechanics of the TPRs.
  25. Agree, I saw some video of a former Gazelle pilot who gave some recommendations regarding curve/saturation, I set it up like that and it works like a charm. The Gazelle has since become one of my favorite modules. The flight model might not be ultra-realistic, but I´m not a real life pilot, so I wouldn´t know either way. Personally, I wouldn´t call it bad, and it´s certainly not unplayable (like some make it sound) I guess, it depends on what you want. I´d say it´s not very competitive (it can´t compete with an Apache or Hind in regards to firepower), except maybe the Mistral version in air-to-air combat. But it´s relatively easy to learn and fun to fly.
