Thank you, I had just discovered this while playing around with it this morning. Instant trim setting while holding the trim button down until the aircraft is stabilized then releasing the trim button yielded good results. Cheers!
-
Yes I am having a similar issue, I am constantly having to adjust trim and it feels like I'm fighting the aircraft most of the time. Auto turn to target does not work, I just start spinning. Makes doing any missions extra challenging

As Tenkom alluded to, there is an enormous amount of functionality tied to the mfds. Going through the in-game training is a good starting point. I highly recommend reading through Chuck's guide which has pictures and step-by-step instructions for whatever you're trying to do. From there, there's a lot of youtube videos you can search for and drill down into specific tasks that you might need help with, for example, getting the most out of the radar. Let us know if you need additional assistance, the community here is very helpful. The F18 is an amazing aircraft, best of luck to ya!

Struggling With Task Force Challenger Mission 1
guriak replied to percivaldanvers's topic in DCS: F/A-18C
@percivaldanvers Here's a video of me playing through this mission last night in case you gain any insight from it, I keep roughly the same altitude as the Migs, maybe slightly higher. my first Aim 7 forced the targeted Mig 29 (closest) into the defensive but the missile misses at the last second, followed up with a sidewinder for the kill, then onto the next Mig 29 which only took one Aim 7. After that the Su-24s are a turkey shoot. Situational awareness is of course very important, if both Mig 29s survive the merge you'll need to make sure neither one can get a good firing angle on you or be ready to notch/evade and drop CMs I'm by no means an expert or some DCS Ace, but this is what has worked for me. If others have tips to contribute, please share! -
Are you playing Open Beta or Stable?

guriak replied to Pyrocumulous's topic in Missions and Campaigns
Can confirm that ICLS/Link 4 is still disabled on the Stennis for the final mission as of this posting, fortunately it's a CASE I landing situation!- 1 reply

Upcoming campaign for the F-16C in Syria: "The Gamblers"
guriak replied to baltic_dragon's topic in Community News
Thanks for the update @baltic_dragon, can't wait to play through this. I know from your other work it's gonna be great! -
This is a great campaign, I have been thoroughly enjoying it. I like how the campaign progresses according to your performance in previous missions. Blue recently recaptured the first AO and now I'm helping them advance on the 2nd one. Cheers to the Operation Pontus team for an exceptional DLC campaign!

TF Challenger Final Mission, Help Needed
guriak replied to Exile 6-1's topic in Missions and Campaigns
This one is definitely a toughie, I was determined to complete the campaign and gave up on the default loadout lol. I loaded up with AMRAAMs and 4x JDAM, followed the SEAD wing in and engaged the first pair of MIG-29s, 2nd pair is usually close behind and was able to deal with them as well, though separately from the first pair, then it's onto the base and completing the objectives with no MIGs to worry about. If left unsupported, the SEAD wing is easy prey for the red CAP and then you'll have their undivided attention. For some reason ILS is disabled on the carrier for this mission which makes the landing a little harder. If you're not comfortable making a fully visual CASE I landing, practice with the standalone carrier landing missions until you feel confident you can nail it. -

A-10C II Tank Killer upgrade not available
guriak replied to guriak's topic in DCS: A-10C II Tank Killer
Sure did, I can see "Logout / Profile / Cart" -
Hello, I have the original A-10C module on my list of licenses and installed (stand-alone DCS, not steam), however I am unable to find the upgrade anywhere on this site or in the game. Adding the full A-10C II Tank Killer module and going to checkout still shows the full price (minus 30% sale discount). How can I obtain the $20 upgrade? Thank you, Guriak

DCS crashes shortly after mission start with different aircraft and missions

I rolled back my WMR driver to 10.0.19041.2037 and was able to complete a mission without crashing. Software overview and release history - Enthusiast Guide | Microsoft Docs -
DCS crashes shortly after mission start with different aircraft and missions
guriak replied to guriak's topic in Game Crash
I reverted to 2.5.6 and encountered the same crashing, I've discovered that there was an update to WMR on 6/10 and this may be related. -
DCS crashes shortly after mission start with different aircraft and missions
guriak replied to guriak's topic in Game Crash
The game does work without using VR. VR is never interrupted like it would be if there was an actual loss of connection, the game simply crashes to desktop and I'm back at the WMR portal in VR. There are no issues with any other VR application. One thing I've noticed with the 2.7 update is that during the loading screen, the WMR loading splash pops up briefly and this didn't used to happen. It generally shouldn't appear inside an application, and this never happened with older versions of DCS
