Some notes: * Later patches of the game do not require the phantom screen as this was addressed and fixed. You original scripts used a phantom area (since then rectified) and you do not need to run Phantom fix.exe * Even if you have the monitor setup file incorrect and only the options.lua file is correct you should still see the multiplayer main menu screen stretch across both screens. Try load the multiplayer game menu as a test. * You have attached screen shots of the lua files, that's fine. You can zip both files if you want to upload them here, but from the screenshots I can't tell the name of the monitor setup file you have used. IT MUST BE NAMED IN THE MONITOR FOLDER "My_Monitorsetup.lua" - the same name you have used in the options.lua line: ["multiMonitorSetup"] = "My_Monitorsetup" If the name of this monitor setup file is incorrect then BlackShark will not load the Abris/Shkval settings to make the second screen work. * As just posted above, it is better that you setup Windows to 1680x1050 and 1280x1024. Also in this configuration the multiplayer menu screens will work better because your heights are similar on both screens. * Another thing, if you start on the Ramp with systems off, the ABRIS and shkval will NOT be visible until you power up the systems.

104th Phoenix New Mission - Op 'Rebellion'
JasonJ replied to Heli Shed's topic in User Created Missions General
Tried again. SENAKI (Tshakaya) Destroyed all amor/trucks/ammo FOX Destroyed all amor (Initially a message that re-inforcements are coming, nothing appears, finally message that corridoor is open) KUTAISI Destroyed all amor/trucks/ammo BULLSEYE Destroyed all amor/trucks/ammo (Half way through a message appears that (Bullseye has significant damage) CAT Destroyed all amor (Initially a message that re-inforcements are coming, I think that is the column that appears to the north about 5 km, finally message that corridoor is open) Message that convoy is at SWORD and we must protect it. We (3x ka50 and 1x su-27) protected the convoy as it went south to SWORD, then turned back and followed the mountain base to the West side, then it stopped when it met another column. Nothing else happened. BERMUDA Destroyed all enemy madpads, at least 8-12. BERMUDA Destroyed column north of CAT BERMUDA Destroyed column north of BULLSEYE After this, we could fly throughout the Triangle without danger LAUITURI Destroyed all amor Re-Searched for another 3 hours FOX, BULLS & CAT looking for any enemy vehicles. Here is a picture of the search pattern of each blue box. Picture I searched these twice, twice in my A/C and twice in free-cam. Destroyed all remaining masts at FOX and BULLS. During this time (about 11 hours) Blue only managed to defeat, CLUB, MACE and about 85% of Axe. A couple Red air defense remained at Axe, and SWORD was about 98% intact. The Red convoy from SWORD that stopped was still 95% intact. (Only lost a couple vehicles) So I ask Where is the FOX re-inforcements? We really scoured that area and found no re-inforcements. Why does the Red convoy that passes throughout SWORD just stop? What trigger am I missing? NB: The reason I/we destroyed Senaki, Kutaisi, Luituri and all enemy in the Bermuda Triangle was so our fighter CAP could stay close and look after us. Also because we could not find anything else to destroy. ------------------------------------------- ok, and now some constructive critique :) The messages, 'incoming message' and 'communication' at first was interesting, but after a few hours it sounds a bit repetative and 'fake'. The static noise is nicer and a bit more 'raw' The battle is quite centred around the triangle. Yes that was a good idea, and the battle scene gets very intense. So intense that sometimes enemy planes are flying past me and don't even see me. But with all the multiplayer centred in one place, the frame rate drops significantly when theres more than 15 people. Normally I get approx, 40-55 FPS in Moonshield etc, but Rebellion leaves me with about 20-30fps. I know that's not your fault as I am CPU bound, but I'm just letting you know because others have said their frame rate drops to. It seems that Red fighters and especially su-25t have a really long way to travel comparatively to Blue. I do not have lock-on so I can't really say more than that or make any suggestions. The A-10 only needs to travel a few km and can afford to get shot down, but the su-25t takes a long time to get there. Granted this is sort of balanced by the ka50 FARP being nice and close, but with little CAP the ka50 is hammered many times. Maybe ppl should utilise the su27 ground atack more. -

Thnx for replying Tyger. (To answer your question, there was nothing else left to do after hours of searching except go into the triangle) Tried the whole thing again on red. Destroyed Tshkaya base air defense first, then Fox - it said 'made a ingress for corridoor' so that was completed. It said about reinforcements coming to FOX, nothing was anywhere to be seen did 20km circles of there to search for a while. Then hit up bullseye, even the mast. There was a convoy north of that in the triangle wasted it to. Then destroyed CAT, two helicopers did that, I didnt look myself, but confirmed over comms the description of the area, i knew what was there. Then nothing else was left, so again, we (3 helis) ventured into the triangle, took out all blue manpads, there were a few, about 10, then a red convoy spawned at Axe and went south direct to a waiting column in the triangle, the red convoy won that battle, and stopped. - Someone else in my group had already killed most of the waiting blue column there south of Axe in the triangle. Then I searched sword, Mace, Axe, and Club for any other blue units, nada. So kept defending Red Sword and then ppl voted for a restart. 8 hours of playing ended. OK, at least i know it's possible to complete it. I was thinking there was no end for Red. I will try another day. -

Hi, played this mission a few times now (ka-50) and enjoyed the battle. Playing as red seems many times harder. Fighter cover is further away and completing it doesn't seem possible. I managed to wipe out the entire Tskhakaya (Senaki) A-10 airbase, Destroyed all units at Fox, Bullseye and Cat in that order, but then the mission didn't end. Then I killed most Blue units in the Triangle. So how do you complete it as red, or is there no end? Playing as Blue is a lot easier and I've completed it twice. -
If you're using custom Graphics profiles in BS with Nvidia control panel, you must make a new profile referenced to simulator.exe Although you could just change the global GPU settings instead. nHancer is small and simple/quick to use. Would be worth a quick try.

gain on 4.0 for missle launch, very satisfying. :D -
Using NVG with mulitmonitor makes it UNPLAYABLE: No NVG NVG Cheers

I'll add 2c even though I don't know too much about it. I tried to make my convergence on the cockpit panel. So all dials were nice and focused. This gave me the impression that the cockpit was at the same point as my screen, the interior structure of the heli were coming outside the screen and the terrain was always inside the screen like a diarama. This meant the majority of my focus was further away than the actual physical screen, meaning my eyes were very relaxed, even more so than that with a 2D screen. Similar to that lower picture, the lady is on the screen, the hills are inside the screen and rabbit + ball are jumping out, only very slightly. With your pic it appears the convergence point is somewhere near the horizon, and everything seems to want to come out of the screen. So it's really hard to focus on that bridge because it seems like it's very close. For me to focus on it I need to cross my eyes so hard it's like I have my finger only a few inches from my face. Normally if you put your finger inches infront of your eyes and focus on it, everthing in the background is blurry, this is natural to 3D. To focus on the bridge puts a lot of strain on my eyes like it is very close (closer than it would be) and then everything else seems blurry. Maybe I am having trouble with your example because I have a 40" screen that is only 3' from my eyes.

Is there anyway to determine/quantify what Alt Hold is set to? For example I am at 200m Radar Alt and I want to know at this point, did I set Alt Hold higher or lower than where I am at? I searched manual, but it only seems to mention that the HUD shows this info when in FD mode with the || lines. Also those Alt Hold lines "||" on the HUD don't show up in multiplayer server, only single player. || || || == Same for the R-Alt-Hold indicator above your head won't light up in multiplayer servers. Cheers.

Yes you can with PPjoy Create a virtual joystick with PPjoy. Use the PPjoy program 'PPjoy Mouse to Virtual Joystick' or from All Programs >> PPjoy >> Virtual Joysticks >> Mouse Joystick Set the Z gain to 75 only, X, and Y gain set to 0 This will make the scroll wheel move one axis in the virtual joystick you created earlier which then Black Shark can detect. Note: PPjoy will not work on Win7 etc because of driver signing. But you can override this by disabling driver signing and running Win in Test Mode.

Use your HMS (Head Mounted Sight) to lock up airbornes. Put the HMS 'h' in the area of the enemy and unacage shkval with 'o'. Hit lock 'Enter' once, then hold uncage 'o' whilst moving the HMS over the target. It should automatically lock onto it when you pass over it (because you pressed lock previously) providing the tracking gate size is approx the same size as the target. It takes a bit of practice.

I was doing co-op the other day. There was a danger zone and I told my teammate I would use my signal flare when passing the dangerous gully. Saved me typing, and saved the real countermeasure flares. (T.Rex)

Oh, good to know that. Thanks.

Sorry, but I can't figure out how to watch this track. It's a zipped file with a few lua files, pictures and config files. There doesn't seem to be a .trk file. How to view this? Only option is to overwrite many files in my own game, but I don't want do do that and mess up my install. I would like to watch this and see how to fly properly.

Wanted some info myself so I looked it up. As per flight manual (newest manual 534 pages): 2А42 : cannon (30mm) 220 API, armor-piercing incendiary 240 HE, high-explosive (manual page 35) B-8V20A (B8) launcher : S-8 rocket launcher (80mm) * S-8KOM rocket * S-8OFP1 (S-8M) rocket * S-80 & S-8OM rocket (illumination) * S-8TsM rocket (smoke marker) UB-13 launcher : S-13 rocket launcher (122mm) * S-13OF unguided rocket (see more info on S-8, S-13 rockets on manual pages 44-48) Just pointing out that the external gunpods are UPK-23 not UB-13 UPK-23 : UPK-23 gunpods, (twin 23mm) 250 rounds (manual page 38, 169)

I don't know if this helps much.... but I see no difference between multiplayer and single player regarding visibilty of ground units. You shouldn't be having this problem and it's not part of the game. Of course (as in single player) if I am further away than 5 clicks, I can really only find them when I zoom in and look through the windshield. KEY: Rshift - Num* (or just Num*) They are still visible up to about 11 klicks on zoom. They will show up as a tiny black dot and look out of place compared to the rest of the terrain. If I'm using the shkvall from that long distance I also need to zoom that in as well to see them. Either you're not doing something right or the visual details are messed up. You haven't edited the graphics.cfg file by any chance? Another thing, if scenes are set to low, I'm pretty sure that military units are still visible at long range. I can still see ground units through invisible buildings when scenes are set to low and visibilty is set to low.

You should take some lesons from others offering help. Here is an example. It took me at least a week to figure the flight systems out, what with all the auto-pilot, AP over-ride, trim/trim hold and all the procedures involved when flying the shark. It took me another couple weeks to actually get stable co-ordinated flight. Another week or so to learn combat systems. Another week or so to combine flying and combat. So on and so on. My friend came around to have a turn. She was flying down the coast and back and rolling landing within 30 minutes. Her 18 yo daughter was flying well, landing, hovering, using shkval, shooting targets and dive bombing (at night) within 3 hours. With out any help, be prepared to take a long time to learn and I mean months.

http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=55383 ^ This one has the files required to change radio comms and betty to english. I didn't use any modman/external program, I just unzipped and copied the sounds and config files to the correct locations in DCS. (Back up your originals first before attempting)

You may leave it in stand-by (ON) as long as you want. Just don't use (target lock, <ENTER>) the laser while you see the cool-down counter counting down in the bottom left of the HUD. That's how you burn it out.
-
I have found the target's visibility is not affected regardless of visibility setting in the game config. You can even see targets through buildings when structures are transparent off in the distance if you have visibilty down to low. Making spotting them even easier.

HI acemark. Only new to BS myself. I did have an n9600GT. Upgraded to a GTX295 and got no improvement on FPS. It's all CPU in BS. BTW, FYI, i have e8400 3.0ghz and it's not enough by a long shot for good detail levels. Running everything on low gives me 15-40FPS in MP. 30-60 in SP. -I'd make sure visible distance is set low as possible, this gives me another 15 or so FPS -Also theres a >>> script setting for water=1, (default is 2) which may give some extra fps. -Use full screen mode -Cockpit to lowest 256, will reduce shkval/abris quality but will help FPS -mirrors OFF -Disable any background PC processes like antivirus. -start playing with AAx2, AFx2 and slowly increase them and check game performance each increase. But since BS is a CPU hog your 9800 should be able to handle AAx4 , AFx8 pretty well. Someone made a tweaking guide, but since the forums got rearranged I can't find it now. edit: This is it >>> http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=49434 Some hints here: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=55092
