  1. In that last there were things for the WWII crowd, it was just the changelog didn't list them . There was a Fw190A cockpit textures revamp, by the way. Maybe some of the new map tech in Marianas WWII needs the new engine? Dunno. Hope we get to know something about Marianas (and all the stuff around Pacific...) sooner than later.
  2. Amazing news!! thanks mate .
  3. It doesn't really matter whether it's been a year since first announcement (meaning they got ED's Ok to go ahead for the module), and I'm sure they're working on it even slowly and all, but it was said from the beginning that Starfighter would only come (and be fully developed, I guess) after the F1M version were released, which happens to be the heftier one and the more different due to a deep overhaul into that version compared to the previous ones we already have. F1M isn't here, at all, and the time it's taking to be developed just tells how different it was compared to the previous ones we already have. So, without the F1M out they probably haven't put all their work power into the Starfighter yet, some perhaps, sure they are working on it, but it's too early and we know nothing about F1M yet to think about Starfighter being started to be worked on deeply. Anyhow, since Aerges is more than experienced now, and Starfighter is a relatively "simple" aircraft from the century series in terms of avionics, maybe systems, I don't think it'll be a module taking really long development time once they put it on the burner all the way. We'll see.
  4. Sorry to hear that Silver!! I've been off the forums for a while and when back didn't notice this, but it's a shame you had to quit because of people after so long... I've known you in the community since really long ago, well before DCSW, and it's a real pity you had to get to this now after so long just because haters... Hope to see you soon better and with renewed strength. ED forums wouldn't be the same without you .
  5. Yep, of course, speaking "literally", there's a distinction. Speaking of the practical outcome, both situations seems to be a source to the everworriness affecting some people, which is a nonsense. How on Earth can someone be worried by something and then again the exact opposite? Beats me.
  6. Ehmmm, not really, "worry and frustration no matter what" should be treated by psychologists, not by us here at ED forums, even less by third party developers just doing their jobs mate. The source of that everworry&frustration doesn't really matter, that source or sources whatever they are is what's in desperate need of treatment. And I'm not kidding about that.
  7. You shouldn't be... sadly these days that's a common place to find oneself. It seems nobody's happy with anything they have or get, everything is bad or not enough, everything is wrong... apparently they can't be happy with anything they have at all, when they don't have what they want it's the horror, when they have what they want it's the horror... how to cope with those fellahs ever unhappy with everything... I wouldn't know my friend... It seems it has to be like that in these post-modern times, but sincerely, I hate the attitude of the ever unhappy and ever unable to enjoy anything in life no matter what. In the meantime, just keep the good work going on and try to release the best you can. At least we expecting the module since long ago will be happy, and even dare say we are!! even though those will be unhappy hearing somebody can be happy with simple (not so simple when it comes to DCS modules, yeah) things in life .
  8. Thanks for the update Rudel, good to hear from you some news despite slim ones . Still awaiting eagerly for those amazing looking things to come.
  9. Bearing in mind this man, I can't recall his name now, but a LW veteran who was consulted by ED about the Dora and 109 when they were developing those modules back in 2013-5, clearly said he never, ever, flew the 109 past beyond 1.2 Ata to preserve the engines, whatever the version he had at that time, since there were not many spare ones... Well, the MW50 thing or not is probably more related to a competitive gaming environment nowadays than a reality back then. Preserving the engines, or not, pilots just flew for their lives and I don't think having MW50 at low altitude would have made any difference between being shot down now or 2 seconds later. Anyhow, yes, I can tell you. The percentage of K-4 with MW50 in Normandy during the battle was exactly 0%. The K-4 first entered service in September-October 44 .
  10. Yep, I use buttons since I can't step on braking pedals, so it's clunky and cumbersome, but back when I used those braking pedals there's no problem beyond oneself mishandling. Besides, well, an Emil 4 and a Kurfurst 4 are way different airframes mate, nothing to do one to the other.
  11. In a Cessna it's 125rpm drop, since this is a much bigger engine I wouldn't know what the max rpm drop should be, but 300 in a 1700-1800rpm run-up doesn't really seem that much. Old threat, but... Hi mate, sorry for the delay . In a nutshell, yes, you're wrong. Going past 1.4 Ata without MW50 loaded is wrong and breaks the engine. That room you have until 1.8+ isn't there as a WEP, it's there for you to compensate manifold pressure drop with altitude, you won't have that much room when you climb, but that's no WEP whatsoever hence if you go there without MW50 you're just badly overboosting the engine with no antidetonation help (metanol-water mix does just that, plus refrigerating the engine). So, yes, it's absolutely realistic you break the engine when it's mismanaged, of course it is. Without the mix don't ever go beyond 1.4 Ata.
  12. Yep, and the Super Taurus 2 with vibration and auto-throttle are quite nice news either .
  13. Very good review of FS24 expo. Spanish but subs are available. It says (for the mate asking) the Winwing base will have bigger motors than Moza, and I'm curious too about that since I fly with stick extensions and now it's a must for me.
  14. The Moza option is really appealing just because it'll be compatible with the current TM we have. Other bases, well I'm not sure they will unless TM releases their own FFB base in a sensible time frame, though, comparing to how long they took to release their own metal base when we've had Virpil, VKB, Winwing (any others?) for how long, 3? 4 years now? well, hope they react quick, but I'm not sure about that knowing usual response times from TM to the markets eating their toast since quite a time. Yep, I've seen other reviews about the Moza base being relatively "poor" in options, though those reviews happened in a pre-release base, and software is just software after all, subject to change and being enhanced. Hope so, at least. But the compatibility thing makes it really nice to me not having to change all of my previous stuff but just the base, TBH . Anyhow, I guess I'll wait for more reviews before purchasing. Despite the good name the brand apparently has, since I'm not into racing I've never known any of their previous hardware (but it all looks stunning, to be truth). Hope the Wingwin option is here sooner than later and we know more about it, I hardly doubt they'll make it TM compatible anyway so overall price increases.
  15. My bet is two weeks™, perhaps whenever it's ready
  16. Yeah, the idea might be that one, the reality though was we all installed open beta just to see the latest content sooner while those banshees forgot it was an open beta like 1 minute after install and howled all around all the time. I don't think they are that much, not even the majority of people, probably even a just few, but howled quite aloud making a deep earworm in those who heard them. BTW, don't know when, but amazing news about that middle Europe map!! makes all the sense with the incoming MiG-29A!
  17. Small trailer from some mission we got a couple days ago, S!
  18. Next update, if I'm not mistaken.
  19. Thanks for the clarification Rudel!! I was talking by memory and who knows so many years later what's correct about that or not. Still, I wasn't that carried away .
  20. Not to mention you would be as wasted in front of your enemies with that version as with the one we have. The plane is what it is, a 1941 airframe which mostly kept its performance well into 1945 without major changes aside from D and Ta versions. I like 190, but enthusiasts have to face that reality and fact.
  21. Negative mate, MiG-21 (2014) was a module from even before everything of that. Heatblur didn't "make" the MiG-21, it was already there, they helped for sure in some cleaning and later coding at some point, I wouldn't know (so wouldn't you unless you were in the team, right?) the exact things they did but I believe the split team later known as Heatblur only joined Leatherneck after the MiG-21 was released and it was successful so they could hire more people. HB aided in the Leatherneck's Viggen module, and was there in the Leatherneck Tomcat by the way . So, they're capable for sure, just without more people to help they apparently remain a very small team, and I believe we can expect great things from them because we've already seen them in the past, not the other way around. You negative people always look for the blemish in others while you're blind to other's huge faults mate, don't you really get exhausted from that attitude?
  22. Yeah, all my writing becomes useless if anybody reads it or tries to understand what I was saying .
  23. Yep, so not the plastic ruler we all got nowadays . I believe it was early iterations, like the ones I mentioned, just different calculations in different rulers instead of a single one like modern examples. Even some calculations aren't the same, I believe E6B, and CR-3 as well, developed new calculations to fit into the single ruler, CR-3 even a few more than classic E6B. So, just rounded computer/calculator/ruler instead (or on top of) the straight ones, they serve similar purposes and these kind of instrument dates back to XIX century, IIRC. So, I'm just saying, don't expect the exact modern one you have in your hand, it's a different kind even the ones with the similar name.
  24. Nope, I've seen WWII aviation rulers/calculators and E6B wasn't in the pilot/navigator's equipment. There were other rulers, like an E6B but separated instead of all in one as it is, you can see them/buy them in ebay, but E6B in WWII as a common equipment? Never saw it.
  25. Actually it'd be nice, but E-6B o CR-3 didn't exist back then, it'd be cheating .
