VR Shaders mod for better VR experience
Sr. replied to Kegetys's topic in Utility/Program Mods for DCS World
I think there's a slider for that under special. -
Haven't flown enough night in the AH64 to notice, but would this be something that could be implemented? Back in the day doing Air Assault sling load or or general advance party ops, it was always a cool effect to see the Blackhawks or Chinooks coming down to release sling load or land to unload troops and see the halo effect on the outer edges of the rotors when the conditions were right (sandy and dusty) esp at night. It was really cool looking through NVG. We always used it as a reminder to new gun bunnies who couldn't wait to be the 'hookup guy', as to why you want to carry that field expedient static probe while hooking up a gun or Hummer. Would be a great addition to NTTC and/Syria. If this is already implemented, great... I'll start keeping an eye out for it.

You may at least need the drivers. I've used this method in the past to make some of the switches 3 position. Was very handy then in the A-10CII
-
Still installed, but I no longer use it. I use the lower pinky button on my stick as a modifier.
-
I have them mapped to switches on my X56 throttle base + modifier button. Then un-split my throttle to use the left half as collective, the right half as power lever/both. Make sure whichever you're using for them are fully back position pior to startup procedure.
-
More of an annoyance, maybe a bug. Sitting as cpg, then entering setup/controls always brings up Pilot... It's a little thing, but...
-
Mappings... Make sure your not mapping as pilot(default when entering setup) when you're in the cpg seat. Been there. Done that.

Do you have something bound or double bound to VR Spyglass zoom... under UI from the controls page.

VR Shaders mod for better VR experience
Sr. replied to Kegetys's topic in Utility/Program Mods for DCS World
Anyone manage to pull this off yet? -
Didn't notice any difference with in game MSAA turned off and using the Radeon software. Back to 4x in game. I do think we have a winner though. I'm going to unload all mods and do a repair install and see what it's like.
-
Affirmative. I would also disable VRPK or the other Fholger FSR if you've been using it. Doesn't seem to need it now. I have my SteamVR SS set to 100% global / 50% per game and it actually looks incredible. I'm now getting about 9ms GPU frame times over Caucuses. 12 with in game MSAA set to 4x I'm still testing to see if the other goodies are being applied. (MSAA etc)

PointCTRL - Finger Mounted VR Controller
Sr. replied to MilesD's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
I'm loving it so far! I have to keep reminding myself that I don't necessarily have to find a binding for EVERYTHING in the cockpit to HOTAS now. I am thinking though that I may need to make a dummy surface for the Apache KU ... my left hand ain't as steady as it used to be.- 3421 replies

That's RSR... which so far I have seen no effect. I was expecting to find driver/hardware level FSR. But I guess we'll have to wait for ED to incorporate FSR into DCS.

Xbox and PlayStation Gamepad Layouts | TEDAC-only
Sr. replied to Tuuvas's topic in Controller Questions and Bugs
Back in the day, I added a DS4 controller to use with the limited HOTAS buttons I had... short answer is yes, DCS will recognize the DS4. The extra analog sticks come in very handy too. Worked great for the A-10CII even. I'm about to reimplement one for the Apache.- 51 replies

Good stuff! I used a similar setup with a PlayStation DS4 when I first got in to DCS. I managed to control the A-10C with only a Thrustmaster TFlight4 HOTAS, very limited on buttons. I mapped most of the Warthog type throttle functions to the DS4, and the left analog stick made an excellent cursor slew. Used a bit of velcro tape to attach it to the arm of my chair just behind the throttle. Even with as many buttons as I have now using the NXT Gladiator and a X-56 throttle, I'm thinking the gunner seat will be much easier if I add the the DS4 back into the mix. At the moment, I haven't a clue what to map/where... thanks OP.

Awesome so far. I'm getting great clarity and fps even without a working shader mod. Only running VRPK, SVRSS 100/100.

VR Shaders mod for better VR experience
Sr. replied to Kegetys's topic in Utility/Program Mods for DCS World
huh? I don't know what you're doing either Oddly enough, I'm getting about the performance I was expecting (not bad at all) with no shader mod. Only running VRPK. -
I was a mere gun bunny, but anytime we were training we had ours slung on our back at the very least. Train like you fight.
-
I mean... you could just lean forward a little.
-
Well... just loaded the new driver, and see no reference to enabling FSR anywhere in settings. Wouldn't be the first time AMD dropped the ball.
-
-
Have you experimented with any of the advanced visual settings in the Radeon software with your 6900XT? I also read yesterday, AMD is FINALLY releasing their driver level RSR/FSR. (due tomorrow 17th)
