reported LOST cue is updated based on A/C parameters, not the missile.
Foka replied to MARLAN_'s topic in Bugs and Problems
What is logical sense of cuing LOST based on plane flight path, not missile's? Missile is allready in flight, I can and should do crankcing monouver, but when I do, I'll get LOST cue, because PLANE is outside of "kinetic range", but missile is doing fine. How can I use time to active cue and time to target cue if they disapear in the moment of evasive manouver... That's stupid. -
What would you do, if you pay contractor full price for completeing just part of the build, and then he leaves your construction to start working on another one?

Middle position is not Auto, but Half.

It sounds like you expect ACLS to work, but it doesn't. Our Hornet dosn't have autopilot for landing yet.

Launch Bar Retract and Extend Mapings
Foka replied to Major_Mayhem's topic in Controller Questions and Bugs
Don't expect too much. In A-10C switch consistency isn't fixed for years. -

Launch Bar Retract and Extend Mapings

The fact is ED sucks in controls configuration. Same plane can have some switche RMB up, other LMB up. Some switches are on/off, soma have "special" option, some don't. Some have sepparat up and down key presses. It is important issue making configuration harder and the worst thing is that fixing that is literally 20-30 mins for a plane. A-10C had fixed lue file in user files to download. There are tutorials on forum how to change/add/fix entries in lua files configuring cockpit switches. It's really easy, but for months, if not more, ED refuse to correct that. Hook bypass and Launch bar for Hornet are just examples of such behavior. @Major_Mayhemhere you have my corrected lua file with added separate actions for both these switches. Replace file in game folder (NOT saved games) under \Mods\aircraft\FA-18C\Input\FA-18C\joystick and remeber you'll have to replace it with every game update. default.lua -
Bypass IS NOT a Standby! This is armed and ready to use dispnser, just in different mode. Read the manual for details.

Did you try not spamming the key, but pressing it for ~half a second?
-
It's a bug, it's already reported in bug section.

What argument. I'm not arguing. Are you? I simply stated A-10C doesn't get updates. You mentioned a payed DLC, which is not an update or fix. A-10C still doesn't have SADL updated and can't see other not-AI flights, doesn't have updated TGP so it can see similar symbology as on HMD, doesn't have Divert CDU page fiexd, doesn't have switches consistency fixed. We had new radio promised thist year, and no news about that for months, so I guess won't get it. These are facts, but you made it to an argument?

Maybe fixing bugs that last for years? Just a thought....

Easiest way to learn that - hop into a private multiplayer session withe a friend, with whom you're on teamspeak/discord. And test. Talk to each other what you're doing with yout radar, and observe RWR.
-
Who said that A-10's SADL is made realistic? I'd say A-10 is more on a "gamey" side. It's an old module, don't get updates or care as much as newer ones. Regardin data link update I didn't find discussion stating what is update time, in few places I read that pilot's refused to give that information, but I doubt if it is as quick as 1 sec.

Manual, pages from 408 Manual, pages from 356.
-
If so, there are good chances you wouldn't make it as a pilot, so plane's system doesn't have to take into a considaration people that are not pilots.
-
IRL how much does the pilot set up before take-off
Foka replied to Underscore's topic in DCS: F/A-18C
Most of this stuff is loaded from data cartridge, which pilot puts in the computer port when boarding a plane. You can't change laser code of LGBs (I don't know about Mav, but probably this same), it's physically set by deck crew on a bomb. All that what we have to do is just "gaming stuff". Some of them to make our gaming easier, some, becasue ED won't fix it/make it better. -
Nah, you can take down Grisha class with 1-2. Som bigger warships need 3-4 hits. Few days ago with friends during mission we destroyed Kuznetshov launching 12 Harpoons and of cours not all reached the target. And I'm talking about hits, not missiles launched but destropyed by air defence.
-
Of course it would and will damge a ship. IRL nad in DCS. But IMO it's quite acurate to require 3-4 Harpoons to SINK medium size warship, and much more to sink large ship like CV.
-
I'm not saying that, because I have not enough info about real Harpoon, but as you can see it's not big and powerfull missile as some would want. It's just DCS lacks bigger missiles.
-
About efficiency of the Harpoon... And it was empty ship, without emergency crews. Small took 4 Harpoons, 1 Mav, 2 Hellfires, Mk 84 bomb, GBU-12 bomb, and then Mk 48 torpedo took the kill. So Harpoon wouldn't be very efficient against large ship. IRL they would probably use Tomahawk or LRASM.

What extras should I bind in the F/A-18?
Foka replied to CrashAlot's topic in Controller Questions and Bugs
I used to have binded on Warthog throttle: Landing gear to autopilot 3-position switch Refuel probe to EAC Landing hook to RDR ALTM Eject to atopilot engage/disengage FCS BIT switch to L/G WRN APU to APU (just remember to switch it right off, so the auto-off of the AOU work correctly) Engines crank switch to Engine Motor momentary switches Master Arm to ENG FUEL FLOW Left Launch bar to ENG FUEL FLOW Right -
No stress, I know Early Access will take at least a couple of years, but IMO the earlier we report error, the better chance to fix it.
