  1. Just be aware, that mirrors in there current state already hit FPS with a ~10% penalty. Upgrading to 2048 e.g. (which I wouldn't mind as an option) would probably hit even harder.
  2. As a customer: Nice idea, for sure! As a business owner: Yeah, will never happen! You could as well make a poll about free ice cream......
  3. Not only load times. Also hickups during gameplay can be caused by the real time scanner. I make it a habit of deactivating the realtime scanning of defender before I start DCS. Simply less headacke.
  4. Yes I know, however I‘m not aware of a similar tweak to clouds and cockpit displays. Are you?
  5. Res. Cockpit displays 1024 and clouds ultra is the maximum you can set. Other than that there maybe ways to modifiy some .lua files as it is with shadows, but I don't know which and how. Sorry
  6. I‘m not a fan of discord either. But all the community and support around the Rhino is there, so for this special case it is the best place to get information. You can start from here (if interested): Vpforce.eu
  7. Not here, you find it in the VPforce Discord (it‘s based on the motor-kits and software of the VP Rhino)
  8. I did the revised FFB mod for the V3 crosswinds with FreeCAD 1.0. No problems (stability) at all. Quite an improvement in topology related problems (or lack thereof) as well. But of course, some quirks in the user interface still. A price I am willing to „pay“ for open software!
  9. Keine detaillierten.
  11. Why so touchy? I just said it isn’t a problem. They don’t interfere with each other at all. DCRealistic has a free trial - just try it. I only like s few of the effects really well, but those alone are worth it. Tire screeching on touch down is probably my favorite.
  12. Why would that be a problem? DCSRealistic just adds sound effects (and some camera shaking), but nothing FFB related. I can’t say for Moza, but it isn’t a problem with the Rhino.
  13. May I suggest a solution that helped me a lot coping with less exciting Newsletters: Just dust off an aircraft you already own and „git gud“. Time much better spent than complaining .. …and those pile of shame aircraft need some love too! Youtube was MUCH better when they showed the real downvote quota. That’s sure.
  14. DCRealistic adds additinal sound effects and some camera shaking effects. Simhaptic adds haptic effects for bass-shaker kind devices. They are made by the same company - other than that they are independent. You can use either one or both, depending on what you want to achieve.
  15. Cool! IFR/IMC here we go!
  16. That is a rabbit hole we better not enter in this thread here. Wether or not TrackIR is smooth (I happen to think so) or not and what the contributing factors are. The short form answer is the higher the FPS are, the better.
  17. Well, I assume the arrow indicates the direction the wind is going......
  18. only in regards to not having the need for a device stuck to your head*. The tracking itself is not better. Or smoother. (Which would be a HUGE incentive for me to use it. Unfortunately it is sub par to TrackIR in every other regard. For context - I'm currently actively using both. Albeit Tobii only for MSFS. For DCS I prefer TrackIR)
  21. The Tomcat rolls with rudder on high AoA. Sim and RL.
  22. I‘d say try it. You can easily switch back and forth when booting. I agree that the baseline should be SMT on (unless you have more physical cores than you need). If you encounter problems like frametime spikes, microstuttering etc…. try turning it off and see of it improves.
  23. Eight physical cores are plenty. I have also turned off SMT a long time ago. It didn’t change the performance for me but got rid off a lot of microstuttering and frametime spikes. I think it is the crappy windows scheduler that doesn’t (or didn’t) play well with AMD CPUs. If that is still the state of affairs after the recent „9000“ fix - I don’t know. But I don’t need Hyperthreading/SMT right now, so I just leave it.
  24. Currently I‘m still using the Index, but I very rarely fly in VR at all. Still too many downsides for me. I‘m on the edge of giving it a second chance with a Quest 3. Still hesitant though.
