  1. Ah ok, indeed a completely different issue than what I understood. Sry.
  2. I can't exactly remember where I picked that up (maybe casmo mentioned it somewhere, but I'm not sure about that), but I always set the range manually to 800 and leave it there. For usual attack altitiudes and ranges that works pretty well. Apart from that I just walk the impacts towards the desired target.
  3. I might add, that in those days of the war, there where a lot of rookies, that unfortunately died before they ever had the chance to become good pilots.
  4. Jeeze, calm down. We are just joking around. Obviously those numbers where completely made up on the spot. And just a sidenote, rookies killing themselves by virtue of the massive torque reaction did happen. And another sidenote, the Corsair was not exclusively operated from carriers.
  5. I would assume that, regardless of the visual overhaul, ED ensures that all modules will work with the new API. Just imagine the outcry, if they didn't.
  6. generally, I would agree. But granted, if you are .8 sec. from impact, you don't give yourself 3 sec. to ease the throttle forward. Double so if you are an under age, under trained and over stressed rookie.
  7. Ich kann nix zum Moza sagen, aber dafür, dass die A-10 die FFB-Trim-Funktion grundsätzlich unterstützt. Beim Rhino geht es jedenfalls.
  8. Assumingly it rolls much better in one direction than the other..... No idea though. By all accounts it has a reputation as an effective dogfighter. Good power to weight ratio and big control surfaces. ... but also some quirks in flight dynamics. But this is all hearsay on my part. I expect it to be more challenging to fly than the P-47.
  9. IIRC the humongous propeller is giving a ton of torque. So I'm expecting really bad response to coarse throttle treatment on the ground (maybe even in the air).
  10. I think the most likely reason for the small online player community is the commitment necessary to be "somewhat" successful. At least for serious gameplay. The hurdle to have some fun is certainly higher than for fps shooter or other popular online games. Another factor may be that the demographic for DCS is certainly different than for the most popular PvP online games. It is not only the commitment to a steep learning curve but also a question of available time.
  11. I don't know about the exact figure. But the ballpark is certainly correct. Just have a look at the server population at any given time and compare that to the player numbers on steam (which are probably 50% of all players only, given how many players are skipping steam for ED directly).
  12. Actually the visuals in the Quest 3 are pretty good. Double so if you consider the price. As @speed-of-heat rightfully pointed out though, you need to adress the limitations by proper expectations, proper settings and proper hardware. For the Q3 e.g. a dedicated WiFi6 router does wonders for a good smooth streaming experience. But of course that is another cost factor.
  13. Sry, no track (yet), but giving my +1 to noticable performance degradation in loading performance (loading textures at mission start e.g. takes forever). Also +1 on CPU usage (though no temp problems, just noticing a big jump in utilization). Also shutting down the sim results in a pretty long blackscreen. I'll make sure to save a track next time and attach it here.
  14. Make use of the controls overlay. Any Input problem will likely show there. A double binding would make the indicator jittery or stuck and if the indicator moves properly, at least you know that the game engine recognizes your hardware inputs.
  15. Personally, I don't really get the craving for a pilot body either. I found it more disturbing than helping with immersion (strong case of uncanny valley). VR and 2D. But to each his own...... I will probably get both anyway, but I find the Corsair much more appealing. With all its quirks. Whereas the Hellcat is certainly a formidable Warbird, but otherwise pretty generic.
  16. Do you have v-sync enabled? Maybe that doesn’t play nice with VR?
  17. This marvelous machine was so ahead of its time!
  18. Not new, but needs to be shown from time to time:
Was soll den sowas...... unglaublich....
  20. I ultimately went back to TrackIR, because I had an issue where opentrack wouldn’t properly translate pitch motion when looking far sideways. So basically dogfighting was impossible to me, because the camera wouldn’t look where I expected it to. No problems for general aviation though. So MSFS is fine with Opentrack and Tobii, but for DCS TrackIR won (again). I’m ok with that.
  21. Some XMP profiles are just crap out of the box and the manufactures often don’t even guarantee they work in the first place. Anyway it is good practice to have it disabled for troubleshooting. But I agree that running on default forever, isn’t a solution.
  22. I’m with Angel on that. You can increase the FFB gain in the special options for the Phantom up to 500% per axis. and for the mushy center point you can steepen the gain curve in the middle in the VP config a bit.
  23. Does the QAG work for multiplayer? Or can the mission it generates be saved and modified? Edit: Answered in the FAQ, ty
  24. I would assume accidentely messed up axis' settings as well, cause from my own experience flying all three regulary, I can testify that there is no general problem.
  25. I'm on W11 for a while now. And honestly it doesn't make a big difference. It's mostly W10 under the hood anyway. Having W10 at work and W11 at home, I barely notice the switch. It doesn't help either way, Windows is going down. Everything that is important/private and available I do on a VM anyway. That leaves primarily gaming and CAD to Windows. Recall is the final nail in the coffin for me.
