  1. Also, there was a small amount of info on the new IG within the last two or three updates.
  2. I know I'm not really the right person for this, as the only criterion from your post that I fit is that I'm a native English speaker. I've had a quick look around google for your error. One that seems consistent is that your Lock On disc might need to be cleaned or if you downloaded it, the download may be corrupt or missing a file/some files. Is this a possibility? Edit: It's probably not best to post your personal email address on a public forum either.
  3. They write July, I read September :) It's an easy way to avoid disappointment. 1.2.3, never forget :P Quite a short update this week, but I admire that. With weekly updates, there are bound to be times when there really isn't a lot to say. They've mentioned the IG and improvements to ATC quite recently. I think saying something short, but new is better than simply repeating information about something which doesn't yet have any further update to give. Besides, repetition could give the illusion that information about a given topic is coming thick and fast and therefore encourage people to falsely think that something is a lot nearer to release than it is.
  4. I'm sure a lot of you know that Flying Legends is next weekend, and I'm sure some will be going. It's just a little too far and expensive for me. Instead, I'm strongly considering dragging my wife along to this: http://www.nms.ac.uk/our_museums/museum_of_flight/whats_on/airshow.aspx I've never been to an airshow before and even missed a Red Arrows display last weekend as it took place behind where I was sitting. (Really should have temporarily exited that grandstand). Anyone else likely to be going to this?
  5. 29 Old enough to have played an Atari and a Spectrum
  6. I'm pretty sure DCS: World already has the capacity to consume greater amounts of RAM, as it is a 64bit application. It could be that the mission size doesn't warrant that. Using more than the current two cores or threads is a large undertaking, and likely cannot be done without a new engine. Fortunately, that's something which is being worked on.
  7. Well it's Friday, so I'm being cheeky and posting this early in anticipation of discussion of whatever need there is this week. Have a good weekend, folks. Ill be off to Silverstone :)
  8. We can encourage them, but we can't force them. Their method of information distribution is, ultimately, their choice.
  9. downloading and awaiting announcement. I suppose 1.2.5 is likely a wee ways off in that case. Not that surprising, as the major version numbers frequently take some time.
  10. Maybe he's posting from the future.
  11. I don't see it as a mistake, or any problem. I bought something I wanted for a price I was willing to pay. Prices drop. It happens. Sometimes they drop quickly and sometimes it takes ages. It's not as if something I already have has been taken away from me.
  12. This is great news. I'll look forward to this. ED certainly didn't have to do this.
  13. I'm imagining Wags smacking SiThSpAwN on the back of the head the way Gibbs smacks Di-Nozo - although I don't know what they look like.
  14. Love the coffee analogy Ethereal. Strangely, that kinda happened to me once, except it was a Burger King in Zurich and it was chicken wings not coffee.
  15. I don't see why people seem to be getting angry. Nothing is being removed from anything anyone has already bought. If whatever ED sells is not worth the money in your opinion, don't buy it. As an FC3 owner, I find $20 to gain an AFM a little steep, so ill probably leave it. Ill wait for any DCS module. I'm still largely happy with what I've paid for and what I've got so far.
  16. For further clarification, it's Flaming Cliffs (FC1) which has the old style Starforce protection.
  17. Fair enough. Thanks for the extra information. Woooo! Double-wooo(reserved due to lack of ETA:D) Now, as this is the internet, I need to find something to be angry about. Does anyone know if Wags has ever hurt puppies or kittens?
  18. I read that as the missile at first before realising you'd be talking about the joystick. I R stoopid.
  19. Talk about using a sledgehammer to open a peanut!:D
  20. Whilst this may not benefit me directly, it should hopefully grant the series greater exposure, which could allow for others who may not be aware of DCS: World to expand our community.
  21. It's fine. I can wait. I paid for what was announced at the time, so anything more is a great wee bonus for me.
  22. Well the standalone FC3 modules with AFM are at a higher price than I would pay, as I already have FC3, so I'll probably wait until they're cheaper or until they release them at DCS level rather than FC level. I'm not raging against ED for this, it's just a function of consumerism. They set a price higher than I wish to consume based on what I already have. Edit: 1.2.5 sounds good. As always, I'll be hoping for the CBU 87 to be useable again.
  23. Sorry if I skewed your poll. I ticked everything, as I just find it interesting to know what's going on and how it's going. Specifically, I'm probably most interested in the F/A 18, although I don't know detailed information about most aircraft beyond "I think it's cool". The discussion threads about the updates seem to be some of the more active parts of the forum, and it's interesting to see what people think of as good and bad updates. Many people seem to only want their "thing" to be developed and nothing else.
  24. That's how I read it. Wasn't the prospect of DX11 for the current engine scrapped sometime in the development of DCS A-10?
  25. I'm pretty sure some blast radius is modeled, but shrapnel isn't. I don't know if something that increases the damage of certain weapons against specific targets (ie weapons that SHOULD fragment against soft targets) would help or even be possible.
