  1. The 32 bit is, however, a completely separate executable. I thought the problem with MLRS was fixed, but not CBUs. Am I wrong here?
  2. I doubt it. The FPS issues related to these effects took place long after there was a 64bit version of DCS (I think the original A10 was 64bit) In any case, I hope they find whatever is causing these effects to be so heavy on our systems and squash it. They really affect the game very heavily. The CBU87 is a good weapon, and kinda can't be used at the moment IMO.
  3. It is. Although I just called it a hairband until I met my wife. Edit: She says to be careful you don't accidentally fire it into your own eye.
  4. The TrackClip Pro could be connected to an Alice Band or anything else that could go round your head in that manner. You could probably fashion something out of tape that could clip it to a baseball cap worn sideways.
  5. I hope that CBU-87s become useable again. Otherwise, looks like a good changelog.
  6. I'd love to work in aviation.
  7. I think so. I once turned them on at the start of the "Alarm"/"Alert" mission and got so badly shot up I couldn't take off. This was before the artillery strike arrived.
  8. This is possibly the wrong forum for this, as I use a trackball when playing DCS. I currently have a Logitech MX518 mouse. but the scroll wheel is beginning to stick a small amount. I'm thinking of getting a backup/replacement/upgrade. I'm thinking of picking up a Cyborg RAT 7 by Saitek/MadCatz. I'll probably go for the 6400 dpi version. Does anyone have any thoughts/opinions about this? Has anyone used both the RAT7 and MMO7 to be able to compare them? I'll admit, it's the RAT that I'm leaning towards.
  9. Whether I get it or not, I will probably download the torrent (assuming they treat it the same way as a ED module), so I can seed it for people. It also means that if I do purchase, I will be able to play instantly.
  10. Don't remind me of that song. I once worked in Disneyland Paris and it haunts me to this day.
  11. Another IT Helpdesk guy here, although our job title is "specialist", it doesn't make it any more fancy. We get more phone calls than user-logged calls, but that's because users think that every incident is the most urgent thing ever. I could do a lot worse, because I messed up my original degree in interpreting and translating, and salvaged it with studies in various other things at low-medium university level. Ended up working as a teller in a Building Society (Credit Union over the pond I think) for 3 years, before managing to move to the IT department. Now I just have to try to get qualified in my field, and there'll be something to aim for. But do I go for infrastructure or development?
  12. I was thinking about that concept when I first got my Warthog - a HOTAS range with interchangeable handles. I tried to figure out how possible that would be as a business concern, but stopped, because I'm not an engineer and know nothing about business, so I'm the wrong person to think about that.
  13. Start climbing much earlier in the mission. Basically, if you climb almost all the way from take off at a steady rate, you and your flight will clear that ridge easily. You don't need to be hiding until you're over there anyway, so plunge down into the valley after that.
  14. I can imagine. "OK now to input that into the datalink...where's the damned datalink panel?"
  15. I use zoom, but only sparingly, as it compensates for the fact your eyes are better than a monitor.
  16. Oh we do read them. At least some of us do, but then there's nothing for us to post, so you only notice those who don't.
  17. I have to disagree there. Most of the things they work on are equal whether you're playing SP or MP. The focus on MP for 1.2.3 was because supposedly many players could barely play MP at all.
  18. I just find I can't slew the MAV camera accurately. I have trouble with ground stabilization (or lack of). I'm quite happy to use the TGP to initially locate/create a mark point on the target, then slave the MAV to that.
  19. I got it at a slightly more palatable price from Greenmangaming It might be worth your while to have a look
  20. I could be interested in joining an ED server, although i am already joining a server with another forum. I hope I can manage both (along with ArmA3 and anything else I choose to play. I'm a very promiscuous gamer :))
  21. I know I can't use them without the TGP
  22. Welcome HattoriHanzo. If you want to analyze what you're doing right and wrong, I recommend downloading Tacview. See the Community News section of this here forum. There is a free version, which loses some functionality after a timed period, but it still records your flights, shows you where not to fly (to an extent) and shows you what happened. It's quicker, easier, more accurate I think, but less pretty than watching tracks. It won't help you with your JTAC obedience, but but it will show you why you did or did not get shot down.
  23. I agree. Or at least they should be in a pretty good state before FC3 is out of beta.
  24. They were removed for technical reasons. They plan to reintroduce them. A very minor issue IMO
  25. It has been stated in another thread that there's something seriously wrong with some of the MRMs at the moment.
