To be honest, it doesn't really make perfect sense. Perfect sense would be to buy the upgrade, and if you use your BS1 key at checkout, it deactivates that and gives you a full BS2 key. (so nobody else can use that BS1 key to purchase an upgrade AND they know they're not losing money from someone that actually never bought BS1) THAT, would make perfect sense. Having to have a whole different BS1 game installed is kind of silly if you ask most people. Also to the original poster, 4.5GB can be a bit annoying when you have a 120GB SSD drive, so I totally hear you and agree with you.

I figured people that played DCS titles would have a little more patience. I also just bought P-51D since it was on-sale. First thing I did was run the training mission for Start-up. Started up the first time. Instead of assuming you did everything correctly, (which you didn't) try taking a break for a while, read the manual, and then play the training mission again.

If you don't select LATCH in the CTRL page of the TGP, you will have to hold down the NWS button to lase the target. Once you let go of NWS, the laser will shut off. You can only forget to turn it off (which I have) if you turn on LATCH, and therefore have to press NWS twice. So the default set-up (NO auto-lase, NO LATCH) might work best for you. Also, I didn't realize I can start lasing from only 8 seconds till impact. I usually start at 15, even on a stationary target. Good to know :)

ED has some of the most talented 3D/Texture artists I've ever seen. The new pits are un-believably beautiful.

Not sure how this makes sense. I'm pretty sure he meant "trading in" his two keys (BS1 + BS2 Upgrade) for a full BS2 key. :thumbup: ED handles things very oddly I will say that. Look at A2A's recent release of Accu-feel v2.0. If you had purchased Accu-feel v1.0, you get v2.0 for $5. Thing is, you still get v2.0 full so to speak and not an "upgraded v1.0." If EDs database worked correctly they could easily just give us BS2 full knowing we've purchased BS1. Funny so many people try to defend this awkward way of handling upgrades, when so many other companies handle it without a hassle or a "dance."

Just pushed me a little more in the direction of purchasing FC3. I'm not quite there yet, but getting close. ;) Also, I doubt this news is from Jan, 4th, 2012. EDIT: Thanks for fixing the date =P

Much better! I think the single card is the way to go as well, and with the 4GB, you'll definitely be able to run multiple monitors if you so choose! Enjoy it =P

I would guess that you're moving your head to the point that the sensor can no longer see all 3 reflectors or dots (if you have the pro-clip) - Or very little of them. It either becomes really unstable or it completely loses track. I have this problem too, and the only way I can figure out how to get around it is make the curves on my TrackIR a little more aggressive or sensitive. So the camera in game moves further with less head movement. The downside to this though (at least with TrackIR 4) is it becomes a lot less smooth, the more sensitive you make the curves. With continued tweaking I've found a pretty good middle ground, so I'm able to look almost 180 degrees right and left, with out it being too sensitive to "shake" the camera in game.

Amazing.

So I ended up getting the game, installing all 17 GB of it, and trying it out. My first impression after starting the game up was that it looked really good, graphically. It is a good looking game, and I was excited to have a detailed world to fly helicopters around in. So I set up my controls, and started the campaign. This is where things started to go downhill. From the first moment I saw how the helicopter was handling with the AI flying, I was disappointed. It was jerky, and the helicopter felt like it had no weight. I tried to ignore this and tell myself, "Well, I'm sure it's just because the AI is controlling it, it'll feel/look normal when I take the controls." Sure enough, a minute into that first mission, I took control of the aircraft. UGH! It felt the same, Super sensitive, jerky, weightless. After flying straight for a short amount of time the AI took control again, then asked me to turn towards the bay. I went left instead of right and failed that part of the mission. After the mission was over, I went back into options and made sure the difficulty was set to advanced, to make sure I was getting RotorLib 4.0 in all it's glory. So I started another mission, this time with a light chopper. Started it up, and proceeded to take off. UGH again. I flew around for about 3 minutes, landed, shut the game down, and uninstalled it. All 17 gigs worth. So once again, I've tried something else but the quality of DCS has spoiled me so much, that I couldn't even enjoy it. I might have liked the missions, and the scenery/graphics, but I cannot look past the flight model, I just cant. I was able to fly Dodosim's 206 a lot longer, and I actually enjoyed that a bit more, I just wish there was a campaign for that. :cry: Anyway, I just thought I'd share my experience for others that were thinking about trying it, but really, really love BlackShark/A-10C/Su-25T fidelity. Don't.

Hey guys and gals, There is a deal on http://getloadedgo.com/ for some sims. Not only BS2 and A-10 (which I have) but CoD, Wings of Prey, and Take On Helicopters. I was wondering, I love flying the Blackshark, and helicopters in general, so I've been really curious about ToH, is it worth getting ToH + ToH:Hinds for $25 or is it just going to piss me off because of the lacking Flight model. I only ask now because I know they've been updating it often with patches. Is it getting comparable to Black Shark? And I don't mean as easy to fly as the shark, I mean as authentic. Thanks!

Devrim, I just want to say thank you again. This really is great work and you're REALLY responsive with everyone about fixing the minor bugs people are getting. I hope all 3rd party Devs have this kind of communication with their fans! Rep inbound! EDIT: Will the mirror fix work for the other HD pits also? ;)

I haven't had to add any friendly units manually. Usually when I select "Friendly" for that particular airbase, it adds some units automatically. (I think)

I had this same problem when I powered down. I'm not sure if I waited for my APU to spool up all the way, so that could be it. Also, to check this, could you just try turning off the main generators before shutting down engines? 1) taxi to park 2) Turn APU on 3) wait for it to spool up then turn on APU Gen 4) Turn off Left and right eng Gen 5) Shut down engines

This is a silly suggestion but it's happened to me =\ Make sure you didn't Alt-Tab by accident. I have two monitors, so if I click outside the window of DCS, my buttons no longer work in the sim until I click back inside the window.

I live here now. It'd be really interesting to fly my favorite sim over recognizable terrain! I for one can't wait till this comes out, not just because of that though, I think this sim's terrain engine is in need of a face lift ;)

Just used PAC tonight in 1.2.1 latest build. Seems to work fine. Remember not to have your air breaks on. PAC doesn't work with them engaged.

All I did was install DCS:World 1.2.1 --> Install Blackshark 1 and tried to run it once to activate it using your Blackshark 1 key ---> Once activated, download the Blackshark 2 UPGRADE version 1.2.1 and install that. Then Launch DCS: World and try flying a mission with the shark, use your BS2 UPGRADE key at that point.
