Oh man I wish. Can't imagine a much better day than a couple beers and some networked DCS. EDIT: Sorry I'm in Las Vegas =\

Thank you both for your answers.. I thought it world work like that unless I forced it otherwise in the ME. He must have reset his settings. Also, he bought the P-51 because he likes WWII stuff. I told him it was one of the more realistic modules, but he's not into much else. I'm surprised he bought it at all tbh. It was quite fun though watching him try to fly the mustang in sim mode with a keyboard.:megalol:

Hey everyone, My older brother just purchased P-51D, he has zero experience with flight sims and doesn't even have a joystick (yet.) I created a little test mission, with some P-51D client spots, and a few planes for myself, my question is; Can I have it set up so the P-51 is in game mode for him, but sim for me? Or are those settings just on his side? (under options/gameplay) I've created a mission with game mode enabled in MY options, and he was able to fly, but when I changed my settings back to sim, it changed his to sim as well ( I think unless he just happened to revert his settings by accident). I also have the checkbox "Use these options for all missions" checked. Not sure if that has anything to do with it. Any advice :helpsmilie: would be appreciated, thanks!

Fry's is back ordered, says it might ship in over a month. Everywhere I've looked had them out of stock, even Walmart, which usually carried them. But, it was free shipping and handling too, price was $417. PS: I'm not letting her go anywhere ;) :D

Hello, Well for some reason, my girlfriend was feeling very generous and ordered the Warthog HOTAS I've been drooling over for quite some time. :joystick: Anyway, she sent me a link of where she ordered it, and it was through a company in Germany, who's shipping it here to Las Vegas. It says it will arrive between June 16th and July 16. Has anyone else ordered internationally? And is that time frame accurate for delivery? Thanks! Can'ttttt waaaiiitttt.

Looks great already. These cockpits are right on par with the kind of work ED has been putting out! Belsimtek, you guys/gals are really setting the bar high for the rest of the 3rd party devs! Keep it up.

I would love a stand alone Su-25A or Su-25T stand alone product with 6 DOF + AFM. I have a blast with the Su-25T as is, so with the 3D pit it would be even better. I mean, they can already release the Su-25A as is right now. I would buy it. EDIT: I mean the Su-25A stand alone obviously, without the need for LockOn or whatever pre-req you need for FC3.

Like some others suggested, I'd love to see the entire globe.. Any unfinished areas could just display a generic texture, but would allow 3rd parties to eventually "stitch" together different theaters. Although, I would be curious from any programmers, (cptSmiley maybe?) If ED creates a circular globe for the scenery, would that change the AFM characteristics considering "down" would be just one point in the center of the globe, where as now "down" is a pretty broad space since it's flat.

Whatif it was DCS World ?....
KaspeR32 replied to Anatoli-Kagari9's topic in DCS World 1.x (read only)
I can see those being issues as well. I probably spend about 50% of my time in FSX, and 50% in DCS. If DCS had a globe, or at least more theaters to fly in and a decent ATC, I would be 100% DCS no doubt. A lot of people I hear arguing against DCS usually mention the one, small theater we're currently confined to. Overall though, DCS has been the greatest thing I've ever discovered on a PC to date. :pilotfly: -
I like this guy, he knows his stuff. Please get a team together and make us a 3rd party hi-fi fast mover?

Exactly! haha And GGTharos, I do understand all the points you made. And I even agree with them. I guess I just hoped ED would be that niche company that still made High-Fidelity sims, over all other things. And to be honest, I think ED could make their money with hi-fi stuff only, but they choose not to charge for it. It's like all things of quality. There are $15,000 Televisions; you don't see Samsung making 60" 3D 240Hz TVs for less than $600 do you? So now ED, since they aren't making what they could for the Hi-Fi sims, are allocating their limited resources elsewhere, and unfortunately for us, we can't go to another company to get "an expensive TV." We just have to wait. ED could have charged $79.99 for the A-10C, I would have paid. As I'm sure a lot of the other hi-fi fans would have. Anyway, just my two cents. Like some other people stated earlier, I don't have to buy the low-fi stuff, so it really is no loss for me. And since us, high-fidelity fans, are so few, it shouldn't hurt ED too much.

This is sad news indeed. First the P-51D is rushed out without finished engine modeling, and now our "DCS: Fighters" aren't DCS quality. I guess all these other side projects really did effect everything else. Hey well at least we have DCS: A-10C and the Shark.. Looks like they'll have to last us a few more years after all. Maybe ED will start making a console fighter game next, since console sales seem to be where it's at these days.

Quick question: Is the initial start up sound a recording or is it just the modified jet idle sound played at a different frequency or.. pitch?, or whatever that's called. Just curious thanks!

Put together a quick Taxi, Take Off and Landing tutorial
KaspeR32 replied to Psyrixx's topic in DCS: P-51D Mustang
The explanation of how to taxi was also very helpful. To pull the stick back before you straighten the plane out was huge for me. I didn't think it would lock that way. Good stuff. -

Awesome tutorial. -
I noticed the same thing just tonight actually.

please allow to install BS2 upgrade without installing BS1

A lot of people have been wanting the same thing. =\ -
I wonder if they'll add a little machine gun vibration for the final release. It feels like the side gunner is shooting pellets.

In the coming weeks I will also have information and images that I can share regarding the status of the Nevada map, discuss more about EDGE features, and fill you in on other future maps that are already in work or planned. Thanks, Matt ______ I wonder if the new engine will make the earth round instead of Flat. That would be great for longer missions, higher altitudes right?

There is a sale on DCS: P-51 right now. If you get that with another game, it ends up being quite cheap. http://www.getloadedgo.com/

I would love for better smoke/dust/explosions. I really liked the explosion they added a few patches ago, with the debris flying up, but even that I would love for the smoke/dust to linger a bit. As for the engine, I'm thinking that's definitely something that's holding the particle effects back a little. There are so much other things being calculated, a whole extensive particle system would really test our CPU limits. I have to say though, that some of the things currently in the game, (like the bullet shells from guns being calculated?!) are a huge waste of resources, and I'd much rather see better smoke/explosions/tracers than that behind the scene stuff. Keep up the good work though!

What happened to IRIS simulations? Sorry if this has been discussed already but, when did ED remove IRIS from the 3rd party forums? Does that mean no more F-15E from them?

A-10C Mini Campaign: Operation Save Badger (SP & MP)
KaspeR32 replied to Quirkitized's topic in User Created Missions General
Quick question, does your aircraft start in ramp position or on the runway? -
You happened to be thinking the EXACT same thing as myself. Very well put. And thank you Yo-Yo for the response as well. I do wish they had the time to model the cold starts more, since that has always been something I really enjoy about sims. I like the challenge of starting up the planes, otherwise I'd just start them all on the runway.
