  1. Cold engine / Low RPM modeling. (stalling, sputtering) Smoke when starting the engine. Wind on ground from propeller. (dust like from helicopters)
  2. Hello, I was curious whether or not ED will be releasing all it's future products on STEAM. I know they can't speak for VEAO and other 3rd parties, but since DCS: WWII is now being taken up by ED, I wonder if it will definitely be released on STEAM. For example, upcoming Fw-190 Dora.
  3. I wouldn't even mind a simple "toggle" option for the button configurations. Just like we can go into AXIS and mess with the curves, all buttons should have an option to make them a switch or not.
  4. I personally don't use the TARGET software for my warthog. I like being able to set my keys in game. I just have to deal with "toggle" switches manually (editing LUA files) unfortunately. Basically what cichlidfan said.
  5. I've been dealing with this situation myself today. I ended up downloading someone's "mod" for the P-51D that gave you "alternate" button configs that acted like toggle switches instead of just standard pressed buttons. This is basically the difference between a stock "Toggle Switch" and a "Button." Oil Dilute {down = device_commands.Button_7, up = device_commands.Button_7, cockpit_device_id = devices.ENGINE_CONTROL_PANEL, value_down = 1.0, value_up = 0.0, name = 'Oil Dilute', category = 'Engine Control Panel'}, Fuel Booster {down = device_commands.Button_6, cockpit_device_id = devices.ENGINE_CONTROL_PANEL, value_down = 1.0, name = 'Fuel Booster', category = 'Engine Control Panel'}, As you can see, the difference between these two configs is that the Oil Dilute has a built in "up" state, which for joysticks like the Warthog HOTAS, works as a switch perfectly when you assign it. The Fuel Booster acts as a button though, so you have to switch it up twice for it to go on and off by default. You may be able to edit the default keyboard LUA directly to change this, or just use something like this: http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=2102387&postcount=3 Either way, hopefully you understand a bit more about why it's doing that.
  6. Did the configuration files change at some point for the P-51D? I was trying to set up a switch as described in the first post, but when I open the Throttle - HOTAS Warthog lua it doesn't have anything with this format: {down = 3002, cockpit_device_id = 100, value_down = 1, name = "Kneeboard Previous Page", category = "Kneeboard"} Now, it only has this: ["d3011pnilunilcd5vd0vpnilvunil"] = { ["added"] = { [1] = { ["key"] = "JOY_BTN23", }, }, ["name"] = "Mixture IDLE CUT OFF", }, Does anyone know how I can get switches that I can toggle ON/OFF with this format? Is the [1] the "down" state of the button?
  7. Seems we have THE expert here. It's funny to me that Oculus has people like John Carmack working on solutions for VR immersion, but you all of the sudden know more than him. If you used DK1 for any amount of time, then tried the DK2, you would know low persistence actually matters. Maybe the experience isn't quite meeting your expectations, that's fine. But I've used both, and it blew my expectations out of the water. I think DCS will be a completely immersive experience when the CV1 hardware is used, and sitting here bashing Oculus for their "old" stereoscopic technique is just pointless.
  8. So is there a Wednesday update?
  9. Thanks for testing that out. I have a hard time starting this helicopter at night because with battery power alone, you can't turn on the red text lights before the engines are started. Hopefully it's something they remember to finish/fix before release.
  10. Hi Skull, In the current version of DCS: World, are the cockpit dome lights working for you?
  11. +1. As for not calling it a bug now, I find that odd. There is a switch, that switch can be clicked, yet it does not function properly ( or at all, in this case.) It is a bug, and BETA is the time to fix the bug before release. A simple "REPORTED" would put this to rest and it need not be further discussed. Until then, I'll bump it because bugs like this have gotten through the Hueys BETA without ever being addressed.
  12. I was just curious if anyone else noticed the behavior with any rotation knobs. Normally I would click and drag a rotation knob (cockpit lighting in the A-10C for example) and it would smoothly go from off to 100% bright. Now though, when I click and drag, it skips to 100% first. Then I can smoothly drag it back and forth. I was just curious if anyone else was experiencing this.
  13. Just wanted to bump this thread. The other lighting knobs still do nothing. Only one controls all the lights.
  14. If you redeemed it with older purchases, but didn't spend it before a certain date, you lost it all.
  15. If wags new PC on his sig has anything to say about it, we might need a slight upgrade.
  16. Wait.. what just happened I blacked out..
  17. I'd love for EDGE to be able to use/read topographic data like Outerra uses. Oh you want to fly over this area? Let me get the latest data available for the terrain. Some vector data for roads, and you got yourself a halfway decent map. I'm also still really curious about the "globe" thing. The way DCS renders water now would mean it's very difficult to have the current map put onto a round surface. But even for Navada, is the water no longer a single flat plane under everything? I'm soooo curiousssssss.
  18. That has to BE a module first, fyi.
  19. You'd be surprised how stubborn I can be. .. I think I get it from my dad..
  20. It's slightly different with ED. We know what kind of products ED puts out. We know the bar set by ED and Belsimtek. I will by hyped, regardless of what I do or do not hear, about a new ED module coming out. With a new, 3rd party company though, we don't know their commitment. And if I, as a costumer, feel they can't even commit with proper PR, what makes me think their product will be any better? I think a good example of great PR would be VEAO. Ells has set a great example of what proper communication can do for a 3rd party company. And even though I'm not a huge fan of the trainer aircraft they've built, I will be getting it. I will support a company that commits just a little bit to keeping their costumers informed.
  21. It's actually simple. Companies that don't want to deal with PR, won't have any hype built around their products, and therefore will probably not sell the amount of products they would really like to sell. I say, let the companies that have poor PR fail. Let the ones that keep us hyped and/or updated succeed. Capitalism at it's best.
  22. Thank you Flagrum ;) Now I wonder if/when I'll get the Fw-190 since it's one of the planes I picked. Or if it's only the Fw-190 that comes with DCS: WWII.
  23. I remember choosing the WWII planes I wanted for backing the DCS: WWII project, and I thought I was able to see my choices from the Personal section of ED's website. I can't seem to find this information anymore. Also, my account now has a balance of $0.00 from $23.00 or so. Does this money expire if not used within a certain amount of time? Thanks
  24. I posted here a while ago about my AMD card not working with the rift. I've decided to stop playing DCS until EDGE (and hopefully full rift support.) See you guys in 2 years. ;)
