  1. Thank you! to both of you & good luck with the debugging .
  2. IronMikes's bug explanation is not effecting my tests AFAIK. My tests are done in air-start behind the carrier, or launching from it, bellow max trap-weight.
  3. 40°C is normal in summertime in PG region. Today's Dubai Int. METAR: OMDB 151200Z 29011KT 200V330 CAVOK 38/24 Q0995 NOSIG. Your pic shows the power very near MIL, there's very little leverage room. If you're to low after 90, what happens then? You'll be most likely in MIL. I would think the F-14 has enough power even at your extreme density-alt. condition. EDIT/ Just tested your scenarios & I was in MIL allot. It wasn't much different from 20C/STD. The F-14 feels under-powered in land.config. IMO. It's not only me, look at the thread. All guys in my squad have the same opinion, some even call it a sinking brick now. :music_whistling:. I wouldn't go so far, but it's definitely not at all pleasant to fly around the boat now.
  4. It works for me as before. Just tested, with & without stores, AP ENG-On, in straight & level. AP has no problem holding 20deg pitch up or down in 60 deg bank. Even ALT-On works very well. Do you have the same problem with other modules?
  5. I've seen the water artifacts, with NVG on, in other modules for quite some time now. It brakes the immersion when flying at night. Is ED doing anything about this?
  6. RL yes. But this is DCS & you never know what buggs out next?: https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=122387 so you see wind/no wind has been bugged before & it screwed up the FM's for +7 months. Do the test & you'll see a difference (wind 0kt, Carrier-25kt, & H-wind 15kt, Carrier-10kt.). Also If you fly the same CASE I mission, with same winds, time after time, chances are you'll never notice this, but if you change winds you'll see.
  7. Have you tried CASE I, with 0 wind & boat doing 25-30kt? The "sinking" is very noticeable in this condition. I tested & I see no difference in different curves. IMHO it's about the FM's, lift, drag & power-response in land-config. /Thank you. Agreed. There is a 4kt increase to AoA speed with DLC active. Why the excessive AoA changes? And that the DLC disconnects all the time due to need of afterburner use doesn't make it easier.
  8. Latest OB. Standard CASE I, during abeam turn & in the groove (trap config. DLC in/out. speed-brk out, <54k ibs, 30° bank. On AoA). F-14 looses a lot of lift. Since 2 updates I/we noticed a high sink rate during the abeam turn & when in the groove. Forcing to use excessive afterburner use, resulting in very unstable approaches & wave-off's. Most noticeable during: ISA +5, wind 0kt, Carrier-speed 25kt. Less, but still noticeable during: ISA +5, H-wind 15kt, Carrier-speed 10kt. Seems like turning abeam into a x-wind & then a head-wind "helps" with the lift, which shouldn't be a factor, if at the same IAS/AoA. I think HB should check what's going on with the "lift-FM" in land.config when there is & isn't wind involved.
  9. Or you're over G:ing it. If you'll go above 6.5 G anytime during your flight the bomb-aim will be damaged & as a result "point wrong".
  10. That might be Okie on the Aircrew Interview Q&A dunno if that's in this video coz he's done several Q&A. I recall him saying the RIO did 90% of all comms & when he transitioned to the F-18 the biggest difference was to manege all the radio-calls & radar "stuff" himself, since he was used to having a RIO doing that for him. So my impression is the RIO did all the ATC & the Pilot did WVR, formation, tactics changes/acknowledgments. If you're the "lead" Pilot of course you gonna talk more to your wingman, otherwise it's basically acknowledgments with your callsign as a Pilot wingman. Also generally that's how we do it in my squad.
  11. No, it's modes, as in SP/MP mode (I didn't even notice HB's misspelling). You can run your MP server how you want, but why do you care how I will run mine ie. allowing this mod??? Do I care if someone uses easy-comms, lables, padlock, unlimited fuel/weapons, full F10 map etc. in MP?....No, I don't give a dime. Do I want those options to vanish? No I don't, coz I know some people benefit from them & they're selectable options in MP server! But no, you want to force everyone to play MP in your way only, like a dictator, it's very egocentric! Options is a good thing it keeps DCS diverse! I also bet that this mod will be copied & implemented in one way or another by HB. I don't see HB being able to do anything dramatically different then this mod....if they want a fully functioning Jester LANTIRN that is ;).
  12. 1. Yeah...so? This is DCS & HB promised this : "JESTER" AI: A new, lifelike AI that fills the role of RIO when flying in single-player or multiplayer mods without a human RIO." go & read the sales page! 2. Sure it's best to have a human RIO. But in my squad there's 4 Pilots for 1 RIO. And just because we like human RIO's doesn't mean everybody else like them. Besides see point 1. 3. And if you don't want one? The good ones are in the closed squads. There will always be a shortage of them. 4.This thread is about LANTIRN. Exactly, very well said . QuiGon you talk allot about how "cheating" this mod is & you don't want it in MP. But you seem not have any problems flying together with unrealistic, FC3 aircrafts, judging from your banner..... All we are asking for is that this mod will be an Option in MP. If you don't like it don't use it ;).
  13. We already know this mod will break when Jester will have LANTIRN control. We want to prevent it, as we think this mod is realistic & make it allowed in MP as an server option! So why do you care & why should you tell us how to run ours MP servers?
  14. Think of this mod as you're telling Jester what to do with the pod & were to point it with your joy-buttons....but without using Jester menu & voice. HT should really consider to make a good use of this mod. It's not that unrealistic at all. You're not using any superpowers cheat or equipment that ain't in the F-14.
  15. Yes, this mod is wonderful & very easy to use from the Pilots seat, works in MP too. Maybe HT can make it an option for us that like this mod & it could be turned on/off for MP? I also don't see a fully functioning Jester solution for LANTIRN.
  16. Yes, I heard him do it on CASE I before, but it was far from often.
  17. Latest OB. MP. CASE I/lll. Did lots of traps in MP (CASE I/lll), not once did Jester use Landing callouts? Sometimes he used Traffic callouts. Haven't tested shore landings. Suggestion For Carrier Ops: If hook/gear/flaps-down, bellow 1500', skip Traffic callouts & let Landing callouts take nr:1 priority .
  18. Latest OB. Hotstart, Instant Action, PG BVR, mission. Pilot seat. Jester doesn't hold TWS when I tell him to change distance from 100 to 50nm. I have to select back TWS in Jester menu.
  19. My logbooks work for F-14 & F-18 (minus the MP time). Petty no MP time is shown!
  20. I'm using the "Pilot can control Lantirn mod" . 1. Yes WP's -/+, see whole video. 2. Area & Point works flawlessly for me. 3.
  21. My 2c on AAR. When I had my x52pro I could never AAR. Tried all crazy kind of curves, but it was impossible. So I know the frustration.:music_whistling: Then I got the x56 & the 1:st try I could AAR....so yeah for me it was hardware related. Then I got TMWH & it's gimbal feels the same as x56. The T.16000M has the same gimbal as TMWH. So with those 3 joysticks of which 2 are reasonably priced you should be able to AAR. I use app. 15 curves (pitch/roll) F18/14, M2K, Su-33, A10C, so experiment with curves to the point where you can do very precise movements. You already have that option "unlimited fuel" & "unlimited ammo" & even "time accelerate" (in SP) if you want to save extra time & don't want to "fly all the way back to a base or carrier just to get fuel". Now there's an obvious reason no big MP server's are using those futures. But you could always start your own & see how that goes ;). I & many others use a different technique. 1. Always look at the basket, back & forth between basket & probe, stabilize closure rate & drive it in. The way I see it. It's almost like parking a car in a small space, you look close in at the corners & obstacles. 2. Fly formation with the refueling-pod, put it on the upper center of the Hud. I remember one RL fighter-pilot who said that there are as many techniques for AAR as there are pilots, everybody does it a little bit differently :smilewink:.
  22. Yes, you can land it manually or in ACL (Auto-land) mode. You use the TACAN on HSD for orientation (top-down view), works like a VOR. Set your FB (final-bearing, or Rwy-heading) & you'll get the bearing, course divination & distance to the Carrier. You don't have a modern Navigation Display like on the Hornet. It's old-school analog instrument scan on the Tomcat.
  23. In A2G mode, should the Hud Radio Altimeter work or not? Currently it's not working.
  24. Any news on this? sight gets tilted after "active pause", it's still happening.
