  1. Interesting material. Would need to make sure it's the high-density variant of foam board though.
  2. Never heard of PVC sheet being used. Did you mean MDF sheet?
  3. Do all the Saitek pedals have the same base and the pedals are the only design difference?
  4. Your website link is dead. Not pay the domain renewal?
  5. I think he means a Russian dozen, which is actually 6? Must be an imperial-metric conversion issue.
  6. I'm still a bit backlogged on my to-do lists. I'll probably start picking Flim's brain come this weekend though to start assembling my kit. At the moment I'm still trying to dig myself out of exiting to-do's. It'll be good to finally have a seat dedicated to flight simming. That's been the largest impediment to seat-time for me in sims. Rudder pedals and sticks scooting around randomly on a regular desk gives me nerd rage. About time I addressed that with a kit like this. :)
  7. All that sandbox development for a single player experience. I'd like to interact in that universe with others. Sort of kills it for me but I'll buy it anyways.
  8. Technically speaking you have to learn to crawl before you walk. It's a learning curve that I'd rather happen now than later. As such -- I don't see it as premature at all. Given the premise, it would never be the right time for many users. Adapt and improve.
  9. This is only a half-truth. HDMI 1.4a is horrid for 4k UHD computing. It caps at 30hz for 3840x2160. Donno about you but I refuse to game at anything less than 60hz and would prefer 144hz (but know that's not gonna happen on 4k UHD bandwidth). DisplayPort 1.2 is currently the only deployed port spec that is viable for 60hz 4k UHD resolution. Linking to a marketing page isn't the best way to prove a point. What they didn't tell you in that link is more telling than what they did tell you.
  10. Logistics is critical in a theater. Cargo transport of materials has a lot of crossover with civil aircraft. Not much a a stretch to do a FedEx 727 vs a USAF KC-135.
  11. Here are some quick pics of the kit.
  12. Because people have selfish expectations when it comes to personal preference. Since they don't want it they want to make sure no one else has the option either. I say more add-on the merrier. :music_whistling:
  13. The box arrived without issue. Flim also promptly sent me the assembly instruction PDFs via email. Looks like I'm all set once I have some free time to assemble things. Everything looks in good order. Thanks, -Brad
  14. There are a lot of Chiefs in companies. Best to not mix then up hehe.
  15. It's been out for delivery since 6:45 this morning. Talk about fast shipping. Flim only dropped it off last last night for shipping.
  16. With how tablets and smartphones are raising panel pixel density every revision I have high hopes a decent panel will come out in the next year for 6-7" 2560x1600 or 2560x1440.
  17. Yep, the resolution on the dev kit rift makes it really problematic to read stuff in A-10C. I have high hopes the 1080p consumer version fixes some of that. With head tracking still not really in for Nthusim HMD might use OpenTrack or FaceTrackNoIR.
  18. Quake and Doom 3d engines and all the games that used them...
  19. I'll have mine either today or tomorrow.
  20. Where does one see those numbers? I don't know you well enough to take it a face value. :smilewink:
  21. http://www.brightsideofnews.com/news/2013/8/7/amd-to-launch-gpu-codenamed-hawaii-in-hawaii-sept-25.aspx
  22. 7990 or 690? Neither right now, wait till the new AMD option is out in September and how that effects both manufacturer's prices.
  23. Should be all set. There is an early access FAQ in the Nthusim forums along with the download link. It's still in early access development build. It has the same core engine as the projector utilities though. :) In other Oculus news, John Carmack just joined up with them as CTO. http://www.oculusvr.com/blog/john-carmack-joins-oculus-as-cto/
  24. I'll pick one up next month probably. My beer money for the month is shot on a VRpit seat :)
