  1. Looking good. Anything special I need to do to accommodate my Cougar MFDs? Will it have an alternate nested file for those?
  2. Depends on what you want to do. There are closed loop liquid cooling kits that are affordable or you can go with high performance air cooling. My personal preference is the Prolimatech Megahalems which is pretty much the defacto standard for air cooling for enthusiasts for a few years now. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835242008
  3. In a few months I plan on starting to interface my F-84F fuselage gauges. I might want to pick your brain for information soon.
  4. Looking good :)
  5. AMD is that slow lately with driver refreshes that they want a jump on it. LOL
  6. That's why they should fly a B-52. :smilewink:
  7. They need to work on their textures then ;)
  8. Trying to understand the context of that photo. The left is EDGE and the right is their old game engine?
  9. For ease of application I might just use matte gray spray on mine. Used the same thing on the F-84F cockpit I did for the Kansas Aviation Museum and it's held up well on a real cockpit. Think it'll do just as good on a kit. Recently did a staircase for my house, so I have a manual router table. I'll probably knock down the sharp edges on the CNC cuts with that to prep it before sanding and paint.
  10. IMHO, the market has capacity for 4:3, 5:4, 16:9, 16:10 and 21:9 sales. Ignoring your provocation as random internet noise.
  11. Waiting for Steam to hurry up and catch up with ED patcher.
  12. [facepalm] Just because one person thinks 16:10 is the only answer doesn't mean it is. Awhile back 5:4 ruled the world. The guy quoting has a knuckledragger mentality. There should be any number of aspect ratios out on the market. 4:3, 5:4, 16:10, 16:9, 21:9, etc...
  13. For videos I'd suggest using YouTube and just embed that.

    The Cube

Your projector location would most likely need to be on the floor right at the edge of the simpit for the left-front-right-back projectors. As a simpit is longer than it is wide you're going to have to account for that in projector location and dialing it in. Personally, I wouldn't mind having 5 of those projector personally to experiment with. 0.32:1 ultra short throws are only useful for flat screen surfaces. The distortion would be too great on a circular screen like mine. 0.32:1 is really short throw.
  15. Cool, looking forward to it. :) You mentioned F-16 plans too? Are those something you're still selling?
  16. Hrrrm, another hardware goodie to buy in the next few months.
  17. Looks good. I'll probably buy this next as a cnc kit. I'm still working on my seat kit. I'm taking my time on it as I'm not that proficient with woodworking as I am on metal. :)
  18. To fix some misconceptions in the thread... The emerging 4k standard is UHD. It is 3840x2160. UHD is a standard 16:9 aspect ratio just like 1280x720, 1920x1080, 2560x1440. There is no difference in FOV of content presented in UHD vs 1080p. Only difference is pixel density. You don't want the Seiki tv for computing. UHD capped at 30hz via HDMI 1.4a. You need a DP 1.2 port enabled UHD panel for 60hz 3840x2160 computing. UHD is a 2x2 grid of 1080p, so it's 4 times the resolution in your current HDTV. AMD Radeon cards have been able to push this resolution through a single port @ 60hz since the 6000-series implemented DP 1.2 in 2010. Nvidia Geforce cards have been able to push this resolution through a single port @ 60hz since the 600-series implemented DP 1.2 in 2012. tl;dr: Wait for a cost effective South Korea/China DP 1.2 UHD panel.
  19. With the 4670K and 4770K out now I'll probably pick up a Z77 and 3770K combo used. I'm currently X58 and 930. I'm not seeing enough difference in the 4770K to justify buying new. I still want to upgrade a bit though. :)
  20. In a few years ED will incorporate crap music into A-10A? :music_whistling:
  21. I'd buy it just to have another theater to fly in. Never mind the WWII aspect of it.
  22. I saw that some manufacturer was showing off a 5.5" 2560x1440 panel the other day. That's the kind of stuff we need to see more of so Oculus has panel options. :)
  23. DCS World is an important community to Nthusim. I personally make sure it works with both the projection and HMD utilities. It'll become even more important in the future as DirectX 11 and 64-bit builds of games are used. Right now I don't know of any other Rift utility that can do both 64-bit and DirectX 11 pipeline at the same time. I'm sure the others will catch up on pipelines just as I'm sure we'll catch up on S3D mode. Personally I find the render pipeline compatibility to be the most important aspect for Rift right now. S3D is useless without all the possible variations of the render pipelines (both 32 and 64 bit) covered for use. :)
  24. I also suggest going into the tv menu and turning off any video processing options. They will induce latency.
  25. S3D is not in Milestone build 1 yet. It'll be most likely in around Milestone 4. We're prioritizing making sure all the render pipeline variations work. Next is user interface, then head tracking. S3D will be fourth in priority for major feature implementation and refinement.
