Leatherneck Q1 Development Update - Part I
flyingscotsman replied to Cobra847's topic in Heatblur Simulations
Just a big thank you to the dev team, with a carrier too, I'm very impressed. Just as well not too much detail below decks I always spent too much in the PX, LOL -
I agree with Slipp

Thank you Entropy SG Just a big thank you to ENTROPY SG for that LUA file. I tried all weekend to sort the file from the original site. Mine was a shambles of 'teaching text' about a mile long and no clear place 'at the end' to put the IP address and info Got your's down and there is was - as I had expected on the original - put my data in, BINGO it works THANK YOU

Some bad news, depending on which side you´re on..
flyingscotsman replied to Prowler111's topic in RAZBAM
It's a Harrier, it's a British design, The American's beefed it up, that's fair. Thanks for the Honesty, will be CCard ready when it comes out. We should knock out a GR3 just to show our American colleagues what a small cockpit is, missions will be short...like it's range Lol. Thanks for the head's up -
DCS NTTR 2.0 Missions
flyingscotsman replied to Justificus's topic in DCS: Nevada Test and Training Range
Just a big fat THANK YOU to all who have provided missions here, This looks like fun -
Man is this going to be an expensive year. But for me the Tucano is welcome, last tour was at RAF Linton On Ouse and they used to do engine runs not far from our house. Mrs had a migraine one time, and stomped down there to get them either find out what's wrong with it or turn the damn thing off, that cost me a few beers lol, they are noisy sods. When I was single at Brize the VC-10's could be howling for hours, music.

Wallet ready that looks really nice....now tell me they've been working on the cockpit
-
Low level I would expect buffeting, low level work is hard on the aircraft and the crews

noob education needed here... what can the SA-342M do?
flyingscotsman replied to hannibal's topic in SA-342M Gazelle
The RAF did an exercise in Wales some years back when the Tornado F3's were trying to down helicopters. I recall it was before we ended up in IFOR. Anyway the Helo guys could play at Hinds and they could claim a Jet if they had the jet in a sighting area for x number of seconds. The results were a wake up call for the fighters as they found it hard to find the helo's by which time the helo had stopped and was turning while hovering, no doubt with full sound effects in the helo cockpit, while the fighter roared by. Remember we had to identify each target to avoid Blue on Blue. An article did appear in on of the magazines about it. I understand the upshot was, If your sure it's an enemy, give it one go, if not successful, depart elsewhere and let someone else have a go at it. DO NOT go back to have another go. So now we have the Kamov, in the ravines and drainage ditches, much loved by Jag's and Bucc's, Could be fun. -

noob education needed here... what can the SA-342M do?
flyingscotsman replied to hannibal's topic in SA-342M Gazelle
The British army used gazelle's as anti tank helo's but I never saw one with the missiles attached. Theywere used in Northern Ireland and the Falklands to insert troops but mainly, from the little I saw, to be tactical taxi's for Senior Officers. Did an exercise in 78 where they inserted ground base FAC's and recovered them over in the Hereford area. It was great fun watching the FAC ply their trade bringing the fast jets onto targets. It was a transport mainly on that one, still a joy to be in -
That's great news on the Helo's, ok can wait for a Tornado, don't wait too long or your advisors will be using zimmer frames. Don't suppose the Aerospatiele would be Puma or Super Puma? A Dauphin? Or and Airbus tanker? But you said it would fit in with the helo's. Always was rubbish at riddles.....but like surprises lol

Leatherneck Simulations New Years Eve Update
flyingscotsman replied to Cobra847's topic in Heatblur Simulations
Thank you for the update, I suggest you don't have to work all the bugs off the F-14, The USN never fully sorted them out, just have a Form700 filled out and the pilot can sign them off pre-flight (The RAF still use the F700 which the polit signs out the aircraft, accepting, or not...generally the former. During a flying da if crews swopped over there could br update, as seen on knee pad notes and unofficially passed crew to crew, much to the annoyance of the ground techs) It should be snagged, but the crews just want to fly. -
Good post well put, I work with BIG company that has IT guys paid loads, some things work when they are produced, some just go wonky, there is no way to cover all variations of rigs, software, anti-virus etc, For these companies like Razbam and others who have a few guys, with day jobs. I take my hat off

Thanks for the Video, about the only way I'll see it working, not likely to be happening on a screen near me lol. Looking forward to this....are we breaking FAA regs by refuelling over a city?....not that we'll tell
-
Hi JOJO, Thank you for the pilot video, beautiful language, so expressive, but tell me how doe the back seat pilot communicate when the trainee cannot see his hands lol , Only joking but that video should be compulsory viewing merci Bien

I am going to struggle with the cockpit, but one fine looking plane, well worth it.
-
I'm a Brit who was not born metric, so I'm waiting for some one to notice the Gauges in KIlo's don't move as quickly as the ones in pounds, gee I'm gonna get my plane filled with KIlo's next time lol
-
All pilots have to speak English when flying, same with ATC, so we can cross borders seamlessly . Many years ago French ATC had a dispute of some sort and reverted to French only, sure cut down on the number of planes they bothered to speak to, but it caused 'concern' to the other 80% of planes in the air at the time, lol. Now the give lots of notice and just go on strike hoho.

Any model in particular you may be interested?
flyingscotsman replied to joanvalley's topic in RAZBAM
Can I ask if we can get the 2 seaters, F-18/harrier etc. Or will this fall foul of ED wanting everything working in the Nav's seat too? I just think the 2 Seaters look really awesome , F-18 Growler anyone? -
I may be alone with this, but would we be able to get the 2 seater versions? I understand ED want everything working - I get that, but I just like the look of most of the 2 sweaters, F-18, Harrier etc. I would have thought as an airframe, not too much of a stretch. Perhaps if we got the F-15E then we could have one of the guru,s sort navigator seats for the other ,Ex RAF we still call the back seat guy the Nav.

Had to reinstall 1.5 from a backup version , but yes it's all working, at last
