Announcement - new A-10C DLC training campaign
flyingscotsman replied to baltic_dragon's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
This sounds great, just need that push to get this 'joined up' I've faffed with the A10 for years, eventually goy Mavericks workin, LGB's not so well, probably because unlike a real pilot I have lots of other planes, games. So to do this justice I need to go back over the manual,, practice my start up sequence, get to cockpit in my head and be at home, not a visitor, searching for switches, LEARN the UFC etc so when a target is ahead I don't have to make three passes to get on target...There said it lol -
Wow those Austrians can drive, getting onto the trolley in one go, with a tractor...I'm impressed. Personally I'd like to see a two seater, but not to bothered about the back seat being fully equipped, but I understand that's DCS policy, all or nothing. They just look so good. IMHO

Och canny resist a bargain, and save a wee bit too. Joking aside it has many permutations, Aggressor skins and Vietnam too. Only seen at airshows in the UK, Yes an expensive month, might have to explain that later to the boss, eek!
-
Paid for mine, don't mind a discount, ' Och it's nice tae hae sale even! May even mention it to my wife....later. LOL Looking forward to it, agree it's turning into an expensive year, but this sim is worth supporting so I'm in for the long haul Keep up the good work

Chapeau Chuck, (hat's off) Your guides are amazing. Very concise and I will be try the hover test, If I'd known what the pilot was going through when we did all that...I'd have preferred to watch from the apron! They make it look so easy

Yup sure is a challenge, have warthog and Crosswinds pedals, must, have crashed about twenty times, went back to the UH-1 just for a break - that now feels a doddle, so can back to the Gazelle and managed 2 landings, So settings have not been altered, it's just patience
-
I struggle with that set up, I find it slow to lift off, but once off, it picks up speed very rapidly, my flight is a bit like 'Woodstock' the cartoon bird. Landings are 1 in 10, but determined to keep trying if that's what they use. A pilot said you only need a light touch, not so easy with the Warthog, IMHO. I don't have a stick extension
-
+1 that's a nice skin
-
So, is it possible to do a stable pick-up into hover?
flyingscotsman replied to Bearfoot's topic in SA-342M Gazelle
Nice to see it's not just me that is hitting the tail rotor. I have warthog/crosswind, and if anything harder to take off, Generally the heloS do a hover taxi out to the runway, and shortly after t/o a short handling check, rock nose up down, slide tail left right, no restriction's your good to go. But I think we need a tad too much collective before it lifts and so it tends to leap into the air and set off a series if PIO pilot induced oscillations that don't look very professional .....but it is fun -
Can we have a clean windows, I flew in the British Army Gazelle,(I was RAF) and the groundcrews spent a LOT of time making the screens spotless. We -The RAF, may slag off Teeny weeny airways, but they were VERY professional, and the brit craft are highly polished in that department, Thank you...I just spent 10 mins trying to follow a faint trail in the desert...to find its a stain on the screeen lol

Flamin_squirrel I'm so Impressed with that Sphinx, Also SO jealous, well done....take me about a year lol

Cold start training mission question
flyingscotsman replied to Capn kamikaze's topic in SA-342M Gazelle
Regarding the Attitude indicator I held the button as asked one part moved/worked but the artificial horizen never moved, ended up flying with it tilted and unresponsive, probably error on my part will try again probably tomorrow, trying the tutorial before I go to work, really gentle inputs but I got it off the ground and very close to the ground on landing.....before I screwed up and bent it. LOVELY sim Thanks -
Thank you John, just got the Gazelle installed, will be back tomorrow for instruction, sadly working all weekend, Bought this beautiful helo and no time to learn, lol, Thank you though for the instruction

DCS SA-342M Gazelle - Any PRE-ORDER INFO?
flyingscotsman replied to hannibal's topic in SA-342M Gazelle
I agree with Dogbite, these guys are not Microsoft or Apple, so we need to be patient and help, they give us a discount, or freebie, seems fair trade to me
