Just bought my Viggen today, so there are bugs, ....any idea what it would cost get get a flight in the real thing! I'm happy, just need a cockpit light switch, sure is dark in there but it looks great, a bit squirrely on on turns but that might be the FM with the Canards feel like it slides into to turns, my landings need some work. Question, second flight I chopped the throttle and turned into finals and there was a loud BANG, did I just surge the engine and have a failure? or could it have been a bird strike, I tried to make the runway but after a few more bangs things wound down and I ran out of time, height and speed before I got the seat out.....silly boy, but MAN did that get my attention! Brilliant THANKS GUYS

Just bought the Viggen today, stopped waiting for approval, lifespan now considerbly shorter. However glad to find this thread because it sure is dark in there, There is mention in the supplied handbook, that there is a light switch down near the parking brake, nr 41 on the panel number diagram....but only on the diagram, nothing in the cockpit. That also explains the REALLY dark cockpit on some UTUBE vid's when attacking in the dark, we need to be issued an torch in a bracket for pilot use

Nice one Ramsey  You'll make Roguetrooper very happy. Try that in the UK, you'll be very wet very quickly. Appreciate also that this is the nearest to a Loach that we have. So pass the toolkit, them doors can come off

Hi Ramsey, Nice one, that does it for me,, As I said inBritish weather your just going to get a long soaking. Appreciate too that this is the nearest thing to a Loach that we have. Pass me the toolkit, they're coming off:thumbup:

Don't recall that we ever flew them without the doors, certainly not in Uk, our weather precludes this. So unless you have pictures of them, in other climates, without doors, IMHO, not very likely. Ready to be corrected on this of course.

Very British of us Yes we're still a bit formal, I've just finished working with an American company and now with a very British institution....I'm struggling with the formality required lol. So did they hint how many recordings they have? Excellent work thank you:thumbup:

Hi Mustang, Not able to get any links working, could be I'm on the wrong side of the pond but, just get the 404 error's and the like, realise you may not be able to fix that, just a head's up TIA -
HI YOYO and 4H_Ccrashh, OK I finally managed it thanks, not the worlds prettiest take off, lots of PIO and using the short warthog stick, have made similar adjustments as 4H_CcrashH . Another discovery on this link is the 'cheat' 100% down to 0. Then I thought, what about the trouble I have with the 190, it's a take off disaster, must be on 0 cheating.....its on 100% LOL. So I'm really that rubbish. Now having done the Spit, I'm going to annoy the locals with lots of attempts to conquer those two death traps -Merry Christmas

Thank you for that, that was quick -
On that I have put the Engine RPM Analoge onto the left Throttle, have the right throttle as just that, but do not see a control for Boost. I have however got further down the runway, jabbing the brakes to keep in line, .....before I took the right wing off as usual. Going out now, will be back tomorrow for more concrete scraping... lol

Well, more metalwork on the scrap yard. I cheated and had a fly, IMHO the instant response from the pedals and stick were a bit unrealistic. So adjusted the stick in pitch and roll, by the same amounts 9, and the rudder by 10, Getting slightly further down the runway before the wing dips right and we go grasscutting. I've got the stick back and to the right to counter torque, but rudder does not feel effective, getting to 6-7 of boost before I bondu bash. Did manage to land 3 point from the short flight, and did groundloop, Finding it NOT automatic to press the paddle switch/brakes, but hitting the toe brakes. A bit more time next week, and comments appreciated

Thank you for these, gent's I never thought of this, been in gazelles inIrelanb, many years back now and it was a bit like that, The pilot made it look so EASY, Now I'd kill for a landing where it's just intact, y'all skilled IMHO. Must try this later, busy try to get the Spit into the air lol -
Will come back to trying to take off, in a couple of hours, it's a lazy Sunday, but did any one. Else find the tried to use the toe brakes, while rapidly clicking the mapped key, paddle switch in my case lol WAGS, yes VR may be much better, but I've not been a good boy, so Santa's not bringing that any time soon, in fact I'm lucky I'm not suffering from defence cuts this year.
