I don't remember how it was in FC1, but with FC2 MiG-29 we must refrain from maintaining hard turns. Against planes best sustained turn capable it is better to had a good amount of energy in the merge, to get a shoot in one or two maneuvers and break away to give some distance, when we have yet some energy. Even the F-15 has a better sustained turn. Yo-yo's and turn to the center of the opponent turn are the keys to survive.

documentation about russian tactics, fac, in chechen war
104th_Cobra replied to Migow's topic in Military and Aviation
I had forgotten that I had already read some parts of the text about the Fulda Gap region. I was reading until page 11, when Balck and Von Mellethin demonstrated their arrogance. It's true that German commanders like Guderian and von Bock where highly ingenious and aggressive, but I think they were still in the prussian/teutonic over-confidence of the first Barbarossa engagements against weak equipments and immature Russian tactics, after Stalin's purges and failure of taking defensive measures when knowing about the plans for the ofensive. -

By the way, do you or anyone have read anything about the documents (presumably) released by the Polish government, about the Soviet doctrine in conducting a possible West European war? I never found anything. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/europe/poland/1504008/World-War-Three-seen-through-Soviet-eyes.html http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Seven_Days_to_the_River_Rhine -

OK :) I'm remembering of read that same idea of them, and about this text, from someone else, somewhere when I was searching for the Order of Battle in the eighties, on GDR and East Europe. -

Each commander can have a unique solution for a problem. But why do you say they can't be relied on? I didn't read the text exhaustively, yet. So I don't have an opinion. -

Of course, tactics are ever evolving. That docs are for the 80's childs like me. Cold War nostalgia and the omnipresent Fulda Gap scenario. upgrading a ~2 year old system
104th_Cobra replied to Username455's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Hello Username Look here: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?p=1314771#post1314771 Your 1600MHz RAM amount and frequency is good enough. Don't look back and buy a GTX 570. I'm not not sure wich brand, perhaps an ASUS or EVGA. I also have a 2008 P6T Deluxe and so far is easily overclocked. Until the end of the year I'll change the graphic card to an 570 or a 580, hoping that my rig will stand for more 1-2 years. Perhaps I'll go with the cheaper one because I'm planning to buy a flightstick and pedals and all together will be a significant amount :). -
Nobody in is mind, and that have for somehow experienced combat (or trained intensively for it, to the point of hate) likes War. Period. War is something that Humankind can be ashamed of. We all been here for the adrenalin of sheer combat and adventure... something that young ones pursuit for thousands of years. And for that is the importance of History, to remember ourselves our flaws. So, who wants to fly FSX? :D

sending targets from ka50 to a10?
104th_Cobra replied to dikkeduif's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
If wanting to use ABRIS coordinates in PVI-800, set the coordinate from DDº MM' SS'' to DDº MM,mm' (degrees minutes seconds to degrees decimal minutes). I'm not sure if A-10C CDU use decimal degrees but degrees decimal minutes (DDºMM,mm') will be by default. -

Inserting target coordinates on PVI-800 will use the same procedure to navigation waypoints. See this document for BS1: http://www.tactical-response.net/index.php?action=downloads;sa=view;down=3 (NavguideDCS.pdf) -

Probably, it will be more simple using Shkval and PVI-800 to designate target points and get their coordinates. I'm not going to test it right now but you can go read pages 11-5 / 11-6 (393-394) from Flight Manual. -

I just don't get it when seing people arguing about an upgrade for $19.99. If Eagle Dynamics sell 10.000 copies we are talking about $199900 liquid income. Presuming that a programmer will have an annual 700000 roubles sallary (+- $22800), that income will pay almost 9 programmers. In The DCS A-10C manual Credits page, I'm counting 28 programmers! DCS BS2 is a product and Eagle Dynamics is an enterprise that must have a cash flow. If not, it must close the doors!
