  1. This is why you should let hard core players test DCS-level modules and not casual HAWX players..
  2. A general purpose bomb is supposed to hurdle huge chunks of its casing at the enemy. That's what kills people and damage equipment.
  3. Total standby is 40 minutes IIRC. 15-20 minutes with the radar ON will empty your alcohol. So 8 minutes STANDBY and 10 minutes ON and a few more minutes STANDBY is definitely gonna deplete every drop of vodka. You don't SEARCH with the radar, you fly with the radar OFF until FENCE IN. And fly with STANDBY until AWACS/GCI tell you that your target is within 30 km. only then you switch the radar ON and engage!

  5. I want simplified steering as an option. I can live with the current implementation for a while, it's not urgent.
  6. You only focus the radar on that particular spot. If you aim exactly on a tank from 2.5 km you are in fact aiming behind it, and your missile will go above it. That's why you should aim 1/2 pipper below or "on the ground". Takes a few practice shots, but very funny. I love the Kh-66.

  8. I'm quite confident Stablize mode is mixed up with attitude hold. Because right now stabilize is awesome for holding descent/ascent :) Don't know if devs can confirm.

    Trim question

    Russian doctrine is to launch/drop everything you got and head home to get some more stuff to drop/shoot. This isn't a plink aircraft like the A-10C. Regarding takeoff: The manual state 4/5 of the travel to pull back when rotating. I pull it all the way back at 230 km/h and keep it there until the nose is lifted, then I gradually release back pressure until I've picked up enough speed and the aircraft leave the runway. After I retract gear and flaps I only have to do tiny trim adjustments. But I go full AB (often with second reheat if draggy/heavy) until I reach 650 IAS.
  10. Nice! But does this info apply to the Bis? We need input from LN. Their coder is an actual pilot, so I'd take his word. And btw, you can map the brake to an axis. :)
  11. No need for DLZ when IR mode. Tone and later green light will indicate that launch parameters are met. Only use the radar in IR mode to range the target. But if it's another player he will go defensive as soon as you lock him up.

    Kh-66 Bug?

    The Kh-66 is my favourite weapon, and i've fired lots of them, they work like a charm. I'd say it's 95% double binding issue. Triple check that no other device is mapped to weapon release.
  14. I hope LN push the model (aka fps killer) update asap. It doesn't need to be perfect now, even if the optimisation is 50% from target it is still worth to push it out. We can't use this module on our squad nights because some users experience 10 fps when you spawn 6+ aircrafts. And we would like to spawn 20+.. :)
  15. @Tango No, you are the one mixing things up and assume stuff. There is no active nose wheel steering. The nose wheel is pivoting freely. @Everyone that care If you MUST apply brakes in order to turn, then the model is wrong in the current state. But IF a movement of the rudder actuate the brakes (both), and venting the opposite cylinder. The current implementation is correct, and explain why the aircraft behave like it does.
  16. There's only one logical explanation. A pnuematic valve is linked to the rudder and applying the brake as you move the rudder. The maximum force that you can apply with rudder alone is limited, that's why you need to apply brake in order to turn tight.

  19. I have a few questions about the ASP settings for different tasks. 1. Is gyro activated when you move the switch from CC down to the Russian text? 2. Another use for that setting besides gun attacks on low manoeuvring targets? 3. Can the pipper be slaved with the radar in any mode? Eg. in order to spot a locked target visually? More questions to come soon :)
  20. The shock absorbers are too stiff, they must be softened, and travel increased a tiny bit. Right now the rebound effect is way to strong, that's why you roll on takeoff.
  21. I can't get attitude hold to work. Tried both keyboard and HOTAS assignment. I don't even hear a click, but then again, I have no clue where the switch is located :) I have my doubts about Auto Land too, but I don't have info regarding the exact function, so I can't say if it's broken or I'm activating it at the wrong time.
  22. Recovery always work for me, i use it all the time. but i can't get attitude hold to work.
  23. I'm quite disappointed with the afterburner sound. IRL it sounds like the world is ripping apart when a fighter go full AB on takeoff, in DCS it's like "meh, nice AB visuals... ... "
  24. I don't use TARGET. And tbh. I don't know anyone using that piece of crap software. Map directly in DCS, and backup your input folder :) Just do it!
  25. No, I'd like more in-depth information. But I rather have the current manual then to have the Mi-8 manual... ;) IIRC current manual is WIP and I'm sure we will see more info added and corrected.
