Are there plans to implement environmental effects such as icing or conopy fogging? This would give the Air Conditioning Control Panel a practical function. If it does not come for the F14, I would like it to be considered for the upcoming modules like the F4 or EF.
-
In my opinion, it is well worth the effort. Icing is an important factor in aviation and I think it is important that it is also taken into account in DCS.
-
After the awsome announcement of the F4 there is only one thing to say... we need a suitable Vietnam map. So ED or 3rd party developers, I hope you see it the same way

Future of DCS complex modules, thoughts and opinions
Germane replied to Devil 505's topic in DCS Core Wish List
Yes I know but its like headbreaker said in the SC thread: Yes you said many times that you are working on it buuut thats it. Sometimes is "we are working on it" not enough. The key is communication. The people would be much more relaxed if they were more involved. Look at the feedback of the Apache delay. It was very positively received. No one has complained about it. Why? Because you explained it exactly. This kind of communication is unfortunately often missing and that is what upsets people. Not any delays! We have much more understanding for this than you think, if you explain it. We love you and DCS but please talk more to us. But yes, thats a little bit ot. Sorry for that. -
Future of DCS complex modules, thoughts and opinions

Well, I think the reason is that EDs interest is always changing to their new projects. Look at the supercarrier. I would say the carrier is not so unpopular but totaly forgotten by ED. Sadly... -

Well, the reason for that is not that no one is intersted on the F5 or F-86 but they are old and forgotten modules by ED. -
F14-A/B improvement of the taxi behavior ?
Germane replied to Eagleflieger's topic in Bugs and Problems
Yeah thats true. The F14 is not the only plane with this behavior but I dont understand why the planes are permanently drifting to one side. For me it feels very strange -
F14-A/B improvement of the taxi behavior ?
Germane replied to Eagleflieger's topic in Bugs and Problems
Hey IronMike, the Tomcat is also permanently drifting to one side while taxiing/takeoff. Is that also somthing that will be worked on or regards the groundmodell overhaul only the inertia? -
Well, there are already some indications. I think its most likely that the F4 will come from HB but of course, we dont know it so far.
-
Apart from which variant we will get, I wonder when there will finally be an official announcement...
-
I have also no problems in VR. Rather it is too bright for me
-
Hey HB, it has already been said that the head position is lower than in IR. Would it be possible to have a setting for VR users with the correct default head position? I assume the HUD would have to be adjusted accordingly.
-
Sounds great! I saw the MIG 29 has something similar for its HUD. In any case it is a cool feature!
-
That sounds great! If the switches are not always in the same position, it finally makes sense to go through the switches before the cold start. This is a great addition and brings some immersion. Now the question of questions: When will you start to dive in at this feature? Q2/3/4?
-
Hey guys, what exactly is meant by FORGE: Dynamic Cockpit on the roadmap? Does this mean that for the cold start, some switches are set in a random order or change only some optical elements every spawn? I can not quite figure out from the description
-
Well, i would say the possibility to read the instruments and find the horizon is already much better
-
I'm not very happy with it. The roadmap was the only really detailed development report on what the current state of each featueres is. Beyond that, it really showed the vision of where DCS is going. The weekly newsletters do not do it justice

Flying against the sun can be very blinding so that you can no longer see the hud, runway etc. It would be good if you could use the tinted helmet visor or sunglasses. At the touch of a button you could drive it up and down. In my opinion this would be a useful feature.
-
Well, there are some indications that a full fidelity Mig 29 is in developement. The twin fates of DCS Ka-50 Blackshark 3 and MiG-29 – Stormbirds

With VR optimization I dont mean performance optimization. I mean the optimization of the VR "experience". Things like the correct positon of the head and and a good graphical representation in vr. The planes in dcs look very different in vr. Some look very good and others much less so. Some effects / textures simply look different in 2D than in VR. The Tomcat, for example, is beyond reproach in 2D. in Vr, however, a few things stand out negatively.

is this too good to be true?
Germane replied to Tom Kazansky's topic in Weather System Bugs & Problems
That sounds good! -
Yes it is a combat SIMULATOR. Thats the reason why such small details are important
