  1. Simply magnificent, don't have any other words! All I'm interested in now is "when????"
  2. I agree with you in general, but this is DCS, not DCR, i.e. "replicator" and definitely not a historical replicator indeed. Apart from the static configs everything else in DCS is allowed so it actually follows the 'simulation' aspect, meaning that if you could try an unconventional approach to see the results you can freely do so. So why not introduce more plasticity to otherwise rigid configuration regardless if it's historical/was real/or not? edit: on the other hand, if the cannons/guns are developed to be in a certain position/degrees in respect to the fuselage, and changing those angles require a re-development of the wings/nose to introduce the said plasticity, then the cost/benefit analysis may indicate that it's just not worth it...
  3. for ID'ing in VR it all comes down to the resolution. With Varjo Aero, dynamic foveated rendering, and 37/39ppd resolution in the sweet spot (central focus) the IDing is pretty easy, but it does need a 4090 and .. well, Aero headset.
  4. with human piloted planes this never happens, but with AI it happens to ANY plane, be it fighters or bombers. In a single player It is a downer for sure, especially during the campaigns. anyhow, we've gotten off topic. LA-7 is gonna be the bomb!
  5. you're being cheeky, you know AI doesn't play by the rules and has nothing to do with DM when the plane continues to fly on its own without a working motor..
  6. thank you for the troubleshooting/explanation, @Art-J, I definitely learned something new Just as a reference, this is where the MW50/Fuel selector is located: null
  7. Did you try destroying them with the 50 cals, were you able to ? there's something wonky going on with some static objects. In certain MP maps where there are static planes on the ground it takes 50+ cannon shots to destroy each, or something like that, same story if you drop a bomb next to one it still takes another 10-20 cannon rounds after that to kill them, I assume the ground guns follow suite. I.e. it's not an issue with the splash damage as it is with the hardness of the object itself.
  8. thank you for the link to the document, I'll need to translate to get a better understanding of the systems. So, would you know how we can use the Vz delay in DCS A8?
  9. yes, I understand the oV and mV function delays, those are clearly selectable in the cockpit using the bomb switch panel. But setting the Vz mode (i.e. Vz Mode Function Delay (Vz = retarded mode) = 8.5 sec) isn't anywhere to be found. I wonder if it were a mode that could only be set by the ground mechanics team.
  10. one thing I don't quite understand is the purpose of: Vz Mode Function Delay (Vz = retarded mode) - Where is this actually being used? - How does one select it when variable setting is used? Is this even simulated? null
  11. simply beautiful! Can't wait for the release!
  12. I'm re-reading your comments, guys, and I wonder if we are talking about the same thing here? In Chuck's guide it's called "Kühlerklappen" and per google translate it means "radiator flaps". That's the 'wheel' under the dashboard that I'm talking about.
  13. there's a turning wheel under the main dashboard, if you turn it left or right you can see the cowl flaps open or close, I guess it's a manual over-ride of the automation system. Turning the wheel definitely affects the temperature, which in my case went down to 100 and the cowl flaps where fully opened.
  14. thank you so much, you're the true MVP!
  15. I can only imagine and I'm thankful that your real-life input confirms its implementation in DCS, A true life-or-death simulation for sure!
  16. that's a really cool skin, @II.JG1_Vonrd! Shows the true nature of this bird! It would be awesome if you could share a link to the user file section when it gets approved (unless we can find it using your username there)..
  17. yup, I started playing some MP servers with WT enabled and boy it's pretty tough to knock out an enemy if I get too close too them. At first I thought there was something wrong with my controls then it dawned on me..
  18. this is some next level teasing
  19. was doing some tests with Dora yesterday, and with MW50 failure it doesn't look like it's temperature related, or at least what I've observed. I ran MW50 and was using the manual control to keep the cowling flaps fully open, which resulted in temperatures dead set on 100 degrees, no more/no less. And it still failed after 5 minutes of operation. I still use MW50 but now I limit it to ~1min of operation per instance.
  20. what are you rambling about? I'm not angry, I'm just pointing out the issues with FFB and you're getting all jumpy because you disagree. You can try a simple test with your MS device with P47: - enable FFB - on pitch axis add a curve of 40 - go for a flight and see if you can trim it out for a horizontal flight without touching the FFB stick On my Rihno the trim is max tail heavy and the AC is pitching down, all because the FFB center is now moved way too forward. The max curve on P47 pitch axis I can do is ~20, at which point it's still at max tail heavy however it can maintain a horizontal flight more or less.
  21. you can justify your nonsense as much as you'd like. For Rhino users FFB axis curves attribute to broken behavior in ALL modules.
  22. you disagree then tell me I need to set up a custom profile to sort of fix it. that aren't documented anywhere, nor tested on anything other than your FFB2 your settings/values don't work on my Rhino, it still tucks like crazy, it's a total mess. Curves on FFB axis are borked. End of story.
  23. some possibly relevant tidbit of information if you're thinking about getting the FFB for DCS: - do not put any curves on the FFB axis. Any curve moves the FFB center forward (larger the curve, larger the shift), and it no longer matches the control stick center.
  24. there's sort of a way around, it's not as precise but can zoom you a bit closer: - press F4, then rotate the camera and use slow zoom in/out, that way you can get pretty up close and personal with the rivets.
