I sympathise with the OP, but in the absence of dedicated servers with proper scripting and auto admin abilities its better to password. If you want to fly with randoms then you can always host your own server and keep it unpassworded. I think then you'll come to realise how annoying it is when then airfield is unusable because of so many crashed aircraft or when you get shot down randomly to the text of 'LOL' in the chat system. Perhaps one day we'll get a dedicated server where we can script it to filter out these idiots.

Are there any retailers that offer a digital download version of LOMAC for a reasonable price? I have lost my original Lock On CD. :(

A great mod would be some kind of script that cross references your pilot name with registered users on the community forum database OR teamspeak. If they are not registered they cannot spawn at a ramp start slot, instead spawning somewhere out of the way already in flight. This would stop people moving around the airfield being unaccountable. Also, a trigger zone around the airfield with a radius of 5 miles could detect the height and proximity of the pilot, checks to see if they are a regular registered flier on the forum database or currently on teamspeak, if they are allow them to land. If not, remove them from the airspace.

I'm confused. It's quite clearly an almost like for like copy of the Raptor from an external point of view. I think we all know that the Raptor's external appearance is a direct result of it's required capability. It's shaped like it is for a low radar cross-section and aerodynamics etc. So, the Chinese build an aircraft that looks almost exactly like it. What does this mean? Does this mean the design of the Raptor is so good that it would be pointless to design something to compete against it? Or have the Chinese worked out the the inner workings of the Raptor? Well, if we are going on what we all know, that Chinese 'copies' are always inferior to their original counterparts (theres no point arguing that they aren't) we can probably assume that this aircraft is inferior in all respects. If we take that stance then surely the Chinese government can see that it is tactically dangerous to produce copies of tools that help defend their country. The reason being that everyone can see that it can't possibly be as good or as capable as the F22, so what defense is it? It's either that, or they have designed an aircraft that IS superior and it's all just a ruse because of our pre-conceptions about chinese production. But I don't think so.

The X45 used a 15 pin D-Sub. These connectors are a step backwards. Really annoying. I'm not sure I can fix it as it seem the socket is slightly bent inwards so the cable doesn't make a snug fit.

Ok found out that it does. No deal.

My current X52 (non-pro) has a problem. The sockets that you plug the interconnecting cable to link the throttle with the stick are no longer holding the cable. Whoever thought that a 5pin friction mounted DIN cable would suffice to link the two sections together requires taking out of the office at dawn and shot. Ever since I got the stick the slack connection between the two parts has always threatened to come loose or get damaged/bent. Now it has. The stick no can keep a reliable connection to the throttle and occasionally spikes throwing out garbage information to the PC. So I'm going to buy a new stick, I like the X52 Pro. Can anyone confirm the method by which the two components are linked together, if its another 5 pin DIN connector then forget it. Thanks.

I suspect that pilot was toast way before it even hit the ground. RIP pilot. Anyway, I suspect the Allah Akbar chants are more to do with passive cultural conditioning rather than indoctrination, or perhaps a bit of both. Out of everyone who is fighting there, there will be those who aren't really religious zealots who say these things out of habit. Depends on the country and the faction I guess. If the rebels are fighting for a free Syria, the I suspect most of them are moderate as Syria has been quite westernised in some respects. I say 'Oh my god' 'for gods sake' and 'thank god' even though I am probably the most non-religious type youd could meet. It's just a conditioning of how I have been brought up and what I pick up from the people around me.

I wouldnt mind so much if FC3 was priced more reasonably. $29.99 would be fairer. I had Lock On but I can't find the CD anywhere. I think it would of been better if ED ditched the Lock Series all together and developed a new IP. Thats not taking away the coolness of this annoucement, I want to play, I just feel that I can't justify it right now.

Right, having to buy Lock On at a premium price and then FC3 at a premium price. Sorry, but NO! $39.99 is a taking the mick somewhat.

@OP If you're looking for a an easier way to slew onto multiple targets then you're best of using Path Hold mode in autopilot. This keeps the aircraft stable. Also, set the SLEW to 1 or 2 on the maverick so that it only moves small increments. With path hold and a small slew you can easily lock onto other targets. I made this tutorial which shows the use of path hold to aquire multiple targets...
