  1. Thanks for the input Shepski. One question though: Considering that the 25T has an aft CofG and is light on the nose, howcome the nose is reluctant to lift until it seems (to me) to suddenly let go at rotation speed? I would have thought that with those characteristics the pilot would be more likely to have to fight to keep the nose wheel on the ground during acceleration to takeoff speed. Or is it just that I've been out of school for so long now that I've got my physics all wrong (And I have to admit that this would be a major possibility!) Thanks for the tip on trim for take off. I'll give that a shot ASAP. I have to say though that the 25T certainly has the most "real" feeling of any flight sim aircraft I've come across. It certainly is a challenge to master (and I think I've a fair way to go yet before I could claim to have done that). It's fast becoming my favorite plane in LOMAC without a doubt....And I used to hate ground-pounding!
  2. Well as far as the tyres go, I can't agree with you. I've burst them quite a few times on landing but can put it down to mistakes on my part 100% of the time (rough touch-down or holding the wheel brakes on too long at too high a speed etc). I've never blown a tyre taxiing. Not trying to be funny here..but what speed are you trying to taxi at? IIRC in the readme (or manual..can't remember) it says you should remain below 20km/h when taxiing...otherwise I can fully understand how the tyres would blow...especially cornering a fully loaded Frog. No pitch or roll on the runway: You might have something here. It does seem to "unstick" pretty drastically after take-off speed is reached rather than gradually as speed increases. Heavy controls: Not really. Have a look in the mission editor at the weight that thing is lifting when fully loaded. Combined with the extra fuel and avionics systems it carries (compared to the Su-25) really it's underpowered, so I would think that heaviness in the controls is to be somewhat expected. The difference is performance between a fully loaded 25T and an unarmed one is fairly dramatic, so IMHO I think this one might be down to the payload weight etc. However I'm at the same level of real life experience as yourself, so this is purely a subjective opinion. It would be great to see some figures on this as you suggest, but how accurate are the available figures going to be for a military aircraft currently in service? Excellent discussion topic BTW, Cobra.
  3. Go through the tutorials m8. Beliveve me, with the weapons systems on the SU-25T they're important.....And the answer to your question is in there!!
  4. I really like Weta's idea about the loadouts. It would open up quite a few mission building possibilites as well.
  5. That's a huge pity. But considering the ammount of work involved it's understandable.
  6. What about the advanced flight model? Any plans to implement it on any of the other flyable aircraft?
  7. I would have liked a copy of FC on disc, but I can't justify spending that ammount again for what would be little more than an extra copy of something I already have. Especially when I've just spent £100 on an X-52 (...which arrived today...faulty!!)
  8. Yeah, I went and read those 10 pages after you mentioned it in another thread. Multiple posts from quite a few of the poster, replies from UbiRazz, and a few posts from guys that haven't even bought the game. Take the mulitple posts out and you're left with approximately 72 active participants in that thread (Including Starforce, UbiRazz, Stornin and at least two three guys that just went in there to say they'd decided not to buy and it looks like a coulpe of guys who entered their CD key incorrectly and caused problems for themselves). No-one is disputing that Starforce can and does cause some people problems. But the fact is that the number of people effected is far lower than you're making it out to be. I have to agree with you though, that it would be good to see the number of people being frustrated by CP issues equalling zero. I just hope that those people who are effected by Starforce get their problems addressed.
  9. According to the info on the site the CD version still uses Starforce Bflagg, just a different version (I assume it's that same as SH3 has but don't know for sure).
  10. So now if you are having non of the problems the anti-starforce lobby are wailing about and say so publically you're a "fanboi?" I think a reality check is in order. Sorry, but if all that's been posted about Starforce was true this forum, the LOMAC forum over on Ubi's site and the SH3 forums would be full to bursting with complaints about copy protection problems. The fact is that non of them are. Most posts relate to either gameplay or game related bugs. The noticable thing is that, on the whole, any Starforce related threads are being kept alive by a small minority that were extremely vocal about the Starforce issue before release. And, no offence Fisherman, but knowing what forums are like I can be very cynical at times, a first time poster ranting about old topics that have either been resolved or proved to be much smaller problems than first feared smacks of someone opening a new account for the purposes of trolling the forums. Fisherman: If this is not the case you have my apologies.
  11. I'm still at the stage of being blown away with the advanced physics model of the SU-25T. Getting a landing slightly wrong and blowing a single tyre, followed by a skid that feels more realistic than anything I've experienced in a flight sim before....That type of thing is something I've never seen in any other flight sim. I would love to see this model applied to the other aircraft (if not in future add ons perhaps in a sequel?)
  12. .....Tune in next week for another exciting episode.... ...This time the repeated dull thump of head hitting wall....... (Couldn't resist. Hope you mmanage to sort out whatever the problems are!)
  13. It's not a bug. BGP's right. There is an aircraft in front of the the player using ECM measures. Not sure if it's in the manual but it's definately explained in the relevent tutorial for the Su-27
  14. Thanks Ruggbutt. Had to ask cos to be quite honest I've never used it. So I just wondered why it was so popular.
  15. Just out of interest what's the advantage of software like Nero over the built in CD burning utility that Windows XP has? First thing I did after downloading the three FC packages and installing them was burn them on CD. No problems at all with the built in Win XP utility at all.
  16. It's the weekend. Chances are that ED's staff aren't at work. Calm down and wait to see if something comes out next week.
  17. As I posted over on the Ubi forums: I've got the DVD version of SHIII and downloaded FC. Both with Starforce copy protection. Both installed flawlessly and run perfectly.
  18. Does LoMan 2.1 work with FC (Especially with regard to tweaking the graphics setings)? I thought I'd seen a post some time ago about anew version of LoMan being released, but I can't find it now.
  19. Might be an idea if one of the moderators put this type of info together in a sticky thread. I'm sure that questions about MP problems are going to come up frequently. Be good if there was a central point where fixes could be put so everyone knows where to look.
  20. If you're not using a credit card for payment then there's a delay while the money is transfered from your bank to theirs. And three days isn't too bad. Inter-bank transfers can take up to five working days ( so you'd wait seven in that case if you had a weekend in the middle). That's the way banks work. Don't see why you're trying to blame ED or anyone else for this.
  21. Issued by Snake Oil.CA. Not exactly a name that inspires confidence is it??
  22. Yeah, WTF is that? Never seen anything like that before.
  23. Re: 1.1 Copy Protection Update Do we know what ED's intention is here? Is it actually to make us pay if we exceed the three config changes as part of their revenue stream, or do we expect that they will waive this and reset the counter unless they think someone is taking the piss? Bear in mind that while three new computers last a long time, if you are fiddling around to optimise a new system you can make three major changes in as many hours! Mike Nobody from ED has EVER said we would have to pay again after three re-registers. AFAIK that was just some paranoid delusion that was picked up and spread amidst the mass hysteria. From my understanding the hardware check is purely to prevent piracy. So I would assume that if the registering software thinks something funny is going on PROOF of purchase may be needed before a new registration key is supplied (after the initial three registrations....But this would need to be confirmed by ED. I am guessing here). I must admit though, if ED would actually state clearly how the Starforce protection will work from a consumer's point of view, it could put a lot of minds at rest.
  24. I notice he also fired a fuel tank at you!! They'll put a rocket motor in anything nowadays!!
  25. You too huh? Maybe we should start a support group...Husband's Anonymous or something!!
