Folks get their crotch straps in a twist for a first-gen HMCS on a Phantom, but if we're honest it won't do as much good as people think because you still have to swing that nose around to put the target in the missile flight envelope. The Soviet HMCS on a MiG-29 made such a big splash because it came with a missile that had more seeker FOV and the envelope to make actual use of it. The situational awareness is a whole other matter, I'm not flying F-teens without HMCS any-more because I like to know who's where. HOBS missile or not, the HMCS on a Jeff will be a huge improvement.

I had some success getting Iceman to fly in BVR until launch, not sure what more I can ask of him in the A-A dept. But concerning A-G I would very much like him to be able to fly straight and level where the TGP is pointing. I mean, if even I can do that he should have no problem, right? And guess what, that particular AI skill will come into even more demand when we get to WW2 level bombers with their bomb-sights.

I came, I saw... I came. 17, 23, now even 29 - rejoice my fellow Miggers! And all the warbirds! And the maps! I mean, what's more to wish for in the map department?! (Aside from Vietnam and the world map ofc, but that's a whole different effort.) And the logistics framework can only mean one thing to me - dynamic campaign! As if the 2.9 version number wasn't enough of an indication, we're about to see some exciting times, folks!

Speaking of F-4 - when Heatblur releases their Shrike version, will it come into conflict with the A-4 version? Maybe it would make sense to wait for that? Ditto the rest of the Phantom arsenal.

I think you're right, but it's still a massive load of Bullpup. There was a topic about the F-15E release having an impact on the F-4E sales, and me and other folks argued that the planes are too different for that to be the case. Well guess what, La-7 is even more different! The only argument to be made is that people might buy the F-4E first and La-7 a bit later, so I fail to see how releasing La-7 later will be any different from releasing them together from that standpoint.

Well, the graphics and sound developers won't have much left to do, probably some FM developers will be available as well. The avionics specialists I don't know about, depends on the feature list. And I do believe now they're in testing phase until the release, and all development work is currently on hold anyway so as not to introduce new bugs.

We have just about all the remotely relevant Soviet fighter jets up to 4th gen already in or on their way, and yes, they're all MiGs (Sukhoi was only making strike bombers back then). I guess we just have to sit and wait at this point. An F-111 would be very nice though. And hopefully the Su-24 comes along at some point, because in the A-G department it's as close to F-4 and F-111 as you can get.
