  1. You're likely doing something wrong, as I never have that issue. Here's my startup procedure. 1. turn on all three switches for power 2. push 'combat' button 3. turn up brightness on hud and ufcp 4. ask ground crew to remove inlet cover 5. flip up fuel pump, engine, uncage throttle, turn on radio, turn on shars 6. ask ground crew to update INS (so I don't have to type in the lat long myself) 7. hold start to get the engine starting 8. wait for ground crew to say the ins update is done 9. flip INS to fast, type in the heading, flip it to nav 10. load weapons on the plane (not fuel) 11. close cockpit, flip on the ECS, lock cockpit 12. put in the DTC and load that 13. fuel up (if necessary) 14. setup DL and IFF 15. switch off brake and flip flaps down. 16. go, you're ready. or you know, like connect the oxygen lines to your suit and mask... I can usually get up in running in like a minute and a half, I think that's optimized, but if anyone has anything faster, lmk
  2. I guess [Reported] means it's an ED problem?
  3. I use terminal settings, mostly just the imp az to tell it what direction to hit from, good for getting engines of tanks, or avoiding mountains. I don't use the dive angle, because it never works.
  4. http://www.ausairpower.net/APA-PLA-GBU.html re: LS-6-50 / LS-6-100 -- Not official, but sources say they could be laser guided, though that is disputed, they all do seem to have some IR / programmed image seeking ability. Photos show they don't have the large wings of the 500, so laser guided or image homing seems like that's what they could be doing, since they would have to be released at closer range. I'm assuming the images would have to be programmed on the ground if there's no cable, of course, datalink is a possibility (if its designed as an equivalent to the GBU/39B it would have a two way datalink with terminal IIR seeker), as is pre-planned.
  5. sure did. If you drop bombs and they hit, it helps to turn off the laser by pushing the mfd button, so it can cool off quicker.
  6. I'm seeing these two messages a lot... 2022-05-31 01:01:16.236 ERROR SOUND: can't load wave: "speech\rus\common\atc\4\effects\aircrafts\cockpits\radioclickbefore.wav" 2022-05-31 01:01:16.238 ERROR SOUND: can't load wave: "speech\rus\common\atc\4\effects\aircrafts\cockpits\radioclickafter.wav" 2022-05-31 01:01:28.740 ERROR SOUND: can't load wave: "speech\eng\common\player\effects\aircrafts\cockpits\radioclickbefore.wav" 2022-05-31 01:01:28.767 ERROR SOUND: can't load wave: "speech\eng\common\player\effects\aircrafts\cockpits\radioclickafter.wav"
  7. What I read, they developed the HMD with the JF-17 as far back as the prototype stage, so at least one prototype had it. It's just sold separately, but as far as I can tell, there's no reason it couldn't be installed in a block 1 or block 2.

  9. that seems like a good thing, so the tpod should try to track to the last ground target... if it worked like that, but if that's the case then, if it loses it, and you fly over the spot, or you switch to a2a... the radar should lose the ground stab, and the tpod should be pointed generally in the direction it was, since there's no soi lock by radar or the tpod
  10. If you don't know the G's you pulled then you are over G'ing the part. Send a clip or track if you have an issue.
  11. F/A-18 gets sam ranges on the SA page - why don't we see sam ranges on the HSD? I looked, and there is a video out there, put out by PAF that shows Link-17 and it has circles on it showing sam ranges - but the aircraft doesn't show them? 2:54 (frame by frame to see) it has circles on the map. 2:57 as well. 10-117 has the HMD - you can see 5:15 in the video, the black thing near the left of the pilot's left shoulder is the sensor for the head tracking. Also 5:27. You can see the helmet has that characteristic brim of the display and the slanted glass. They also show 11-135 in the same shots, both of which are Block 1 aircraft. 5:36 a different helmet (not HMD) but has the head tracker piece affixed in the cockpit at the same place.
  12. On second thought, maybe it's correct, I remember there was a crash of a prototype plane, that sounds similar to what happens here. Are y'all looking at the right EM diagrams?
  13. idk, look it up. try chuck's guide. https://www.mudspike.com/chucks-guides-dcs-jf-17-thunder/
  14. It struggles to get above mach 1 low and when I do get close, the engine dies as soon as I pull any G's and it won't air restart. Is that part of the changes? It seems to handle a bit better, but can't get as fast.
  15. go to the hybrid navigation system (HNS) and enable that with INS+GPS. It also helps to get a full GC alignment. Sometimes the a2g radar will set a SPI all on its own, so the first thing you should do after going to ground mode is to use "unlock target" to clear that out. When you change waypoints with the tgp, you also want to toggle the snowplow mode. the tgp might be holding onto a target as well.
  16. does pushing L2 not work?
  17. You have to be in the air to uncage it, and until you uncage it, you won't have many options. The cage won't work because you're still on the ground, and the other buttons don't work because you are caged.
  18. There'd be no point (other than saving fuel or traveling larger distances) if you can't mount more than one - technically, if an LS-6-100 weighs 1/5 of the LS-6-500, we should be able to load four of them per pylon. Imagine being able to take out 20 separate targets on a single flight.
  19. Are you looking at their announcement of the LS-6-100? I imagine it can't be that difficult to do. I think the issue is that since ED is in charge of weapons and has them locked down, it's going to have to wait until ED approves, which, considering what's happening, may be a while.
  20. Load some PL-5EII and switch backup targeting to IR, it shows the circle for the missile seeker. Unlock the seeker, it starts shaking, as usual. However, when I change modes to NAV or INTC, the missile seeker is not locked, but it stops shaking, and the only way to get it to show correctly is by turning off the standby / backup targeting and turn it back on again. It's the little switch that has 'off', 'bomb', 'ir', and 'gun'.
  21. It happened twice today, once while I was in the air, once while I was on the ground - I was playing and there was another Jeff on the server. When someone (not a Jeff) requested a 'bogey dope' the audio plays "request bogey dope" and then the client crashes. It affected both of the Jeffs connected to the server.
  22. Now that looks just about right, though I would say there should be a bit of yellowing to the smoke.
  23. you can't manually LOAD your countermeasures though, those will stay at whatever they were before. You have to use the DTC for that.
  24. regarding the HMD, the HMD was developed in parallel with the JF-17, and it was tested on prototype 04, so it makes sense the hmd button would be there, and that it would have a HMD. Yes, the export ones don't include one by default, but is a separate buy from China - however, do you think that Pakistan didn't buy the upgrade for their own jets? of course they did.
