Deka has already stated that if they upgrade the "Block I" with a HMD they would add it, hence why I am asking. the WS-13E supposedly has 6% more thrust wet, 13% more thrust dry, a higher bypass ratio, and slightly lower TWR. I don't believe it would make it a different block, considering we have some weird hybrid of a Block I and Block II to begin with.

I can't get it to hit a nasam in passive or active either, so idk man, just leave them be i guess.
-
that's the one that has laser terminal guidance?
-
ah, you're right - I was thinking about GB-6-100/250, sorry!

So, from what I read, the 250/100 are not launchable, they just release the submunitions. So, you'd dispense the skeets directly from your plane, not that they'd be guided.

[FIXED] [OB 2.7.16.28157] SD-10 nozzle_exit_area value incorrect
Napillo replied to DSplayer's topic in Fixed Bugs
no, but I would hope they would simulate that on their development systems and code the missiles to behave similarly. -
[FIXED] [OB 2.7.16.28157] SD-10 nozzle_exit_area value incorrect

Well, as I said, it's not true rocket motor physics, just a rough approximation of it. I'd love to see them actually do the calculations. -
[FIXED] [OB 2.7.16.28157] SD-10 nozzle_exit_area value incorrect

Idk, you change the size of the exhaust, you invoke Saint Robert's Law. I believe the values were picked based on the flight characteristics desired, as the rocket motor modeling of DCS isn't quite great. ex: the explosive being given in units of weight of TNT equivalent, as explosive components in warheads differing in strength not proportional to weight. -

and if it is a mockup, the place where the rocket would go would obviously be filled in with something, thus inaccurate -
[FIXED] [OB 2.7.16.28157] SD-10 nozzle_exit_area value incorrect
Napillo replied to DSplayer's topic in Fixed Bugs
The diameter of the SD-10 is 20mm larger (about 10%), so it's area should be larger than the AIM-120. -

Tired of getting your F-14 shot down by SD-10? -
^ that radar systems course is good

oh yea I forgot, IRL you can lock up an aircraft before you even see it, but in game, you have to see it before you can lock it. It's dumb, but until ED fixes it, nothing we can do.

I'd personally try 1 bar rws medium, but try whatever you want.
-
if they're heading away from you, high profile is not what you want, you want medium. medium = slow rate of closure, high = high rate of closure. This is a slow rate of closure. You're going 279 kts at 36500 ft, they're about 10k ft below you at a range of around 30nm. That means your radar is looking down. That puts the enemy at about 4 degrees lookdown. Yea, you're not going to pick up the contact at a 4 degree lookdown in high profile. I can't see the sky from your screenshot, but judging from the light, it appears to be raining. Rain will decrease your range with the radar. Also, if you put it in tws auto and try to lock someone, it switches to tws hi, so you might as well put it in tws med and hope for the best. They're nearly notching you as well. You should go to radar school. https://www.ll.mit.edu/outreach/radar-introduction-radar-systems-online-course and the playlist...

Depends on what you're targeting - ground targets, it shows you the range the bullets could travel, something like 2nm or so, and if you're not within that range, it's going to be inaccurate. If you're over that range, it will still show you where you would hit if there were something 2nm away from you, which doesn't really help, but it's not like you could hit anything accurate at greater than 2nm anyway.

Yes, it tops off the oxygen and repacks your chute. It doesn't do anything else. Also, refuel and rearm does that too, so you shouldn't have to ever do it.

I've gone on 300nm round trip (150 each way) missions with two GB-6, a tpod, and 2xLD-10 (as well as the obligatory 2xPL-5EII) and it's not been a problem really, I flew around 28000ft and used autopilot, kept the RPMs around 90% or so, and stayed in the area for buddy lasing for a good 10 minutes before finally landing with about 1000lbs (liters?) of fuel left. If you watch your AOA and limit your afterburner use, you can be fuel efficient and still carry enough ordinance to make a difference, even for longer ranges. You normally don't need the drop tanks. For longer ranges, I might just use preplanned targets and take the center drop tank. For TOO targets, you can also use the hud targeting, and it's not as precise, but it sometimes is good enough. If you learn your aircraft, and fly it enough, you can work on becoming more fuel efficient. It's like a marathon at times, and sometimes it's like a 100m dash - learn to identify in which situations you are, and how your aircraft flies best, and you won't be so worried about it. If there's enemy fighters seen in the area, then yea, carry your SD-10s (you really only need two of them). If you have support, then don't bother, trust your teammates to handle it and tell yourself that your PL-5EII are going to save you (they probably wont but they might). If you're alone against enemy fighters, well then, grab just your two SD-10 (not four) and go take out some enemies, and come back to base and do it again as many times as it takes. The enemy fighters don't want to get into a fight with you because they don't know your strengths or weaknesses (they dont fight too many JF-17) so you can usually avoid a dogfight. If you do happen to get into a dogfight, then try to use your SD-10 if you have enough room to get it off the rails. Otherwise, just drop everything (panic button) and run away has been my strategy. The only thing that has consistently bothered to follow me is the M2000 - but I could usually fly very low and outrun them until they disengage and then quickly turn around and fire a PL-5EII their way.

[FIXED] CM-802 AKG losing signal in mid/end course
Napillo replied to felipexlr50's topic in Fixed Bugs
You have to be in the right parameters for the release - relatively level flight, specific speed and altitude ranges as well. -
the only time I ever had that PWR OFF text not display is if I didn't wait for them to say they're done arming.

What are good SD-10, and LD-10 launch parameters.
Napillo replied to Vashka's topic in JF-17 Thunder
on the stores page pretty low, maybe 10-5% - you have to choose your shots carefully, but if they're at 40k and you're at 30k, you can take that shot. The PL5 weigh less than the SD-10, but if you look at photos of JF-17s, you'll see they rarely if ever take the double rack SD-10. Their military probably says "if they come with 3 planes, we come with 6 planes" or something like that. Either way, try it out - you'll be a straight up killer in the sky. The double rack you're going to push people away by firing first and making them defensive, it's a different play style for sure, but if you want to mix it up, try single rack only. -

Yes, I saw that also, it did say 80 and not 40. However, I'm assuming Deka has some SME that says its closer to 40 than anything, because it's a lot worse than it ever was.
