I'll concede on that, it doesn't seem to change it's thrust at all during that burn phase and it's used up very quickly. I don't think it's actually doing the appropriate thing though. And I don't believe we have INS enabled on the missile itself yet.
-
It's not using dual thrust - the missile will have an initial thrust and then on terminal phase it will also ignite the second motor, something that DCS apparently can't do.
-
Not quite - the SD-10 is a solid fuel dual thrust missile. The one in DCS is just a solid fuel missile, so it's missing the dual thrust, the main thing that China provides. It has the R-77 seeker head. The motor is dual thrust with different speeds for different parts of the flight profile. Yea, the CFD was done, but that is not the same missile as the SD-10. I'd love to be able to change the lua for it on local because they're really nerfing it with the single thrust.

also, with the SPJ, you can shrink the mar, so it makes more sense to go higher up, as you'll be able to out range them - they can attack you from farther away since you're up so high, but with the SPJ they won't be able to lock you until they burn through.

yea, and ED said they have a better AI FM in the works, but they're not going to simulate it to the same degree as a client controlled FM.

solved Switching to FLIR on WMD7 pod causes instant crash.
Napillo replied to DroptheHammer's topic in Bugs and Problems
it was a problem with a shader mod, just close -
not sure what that is, do you mean motion camouflage?

solved Switching to FLIR on WMD7 pod causes instant crash.
Napillo replied to DroptheHammer's topic in Bugs and Problems
I switched to IR using the 'instant action -> laser guided rockets' and there is no new FLIR textures. -
I think the issue here is that developers can't use their own flight profiles for their missiles, and instead have to use the ones provided by ED. The 802ak for example having to use the harpoon profile, or the SD-10 having to use the AIM-120 profile, when it might have a two stage rocket or other things, which the missiles were designed for, and thus getting decreased performance because of it.

So, this is based on an old soviet engine, yea there's been some modernization done such as the DEC - it's still not a full FADEC, but still, best they could do with that engine.

Landing gear damage is great, but now too fragile?
Napillo replied to DroptheHammer's topic in JF-17 Thunder
I've been flying this aircraft for over 600 hours at this point - recently, about half the time, the rear landing gear gets bent upon landing. It doesn't seem to matter how gently I land it, I pay attention to the sink rate, bracket, speed, aoa, and it still bends the gear about half the time. It's fine, I can go back to spectator and select the vehicle, but I've watched hammer stream, he lands it smoothly as butter. -
They're vastly different engines. The F-16 is getting another buff, so don't expect to keep up with the F-16 at all.
-
Doesn't seem to be the case. I turned that off and it still throttles down the engine.

There was a video presentation on the JF-17 that the designer of the aircraft had made, he mentions the EW suite is provided by some specific company, and when I looked up that company's EW suite, they mention the fact that there is a laser that can aim at the seeker head of the IR missile to decoy it.
-
they already have this for the HSD page - underline means your radar sees it, no underline means you see it. they could port that to the radar... Also, I was reading up on the SPJ - the specific one modeled has the feature that it automatically will IFF incoming radar contacts. idk how that would display on the rwr. and the tail should have an EW suite as well that can do some IR jamming, and will select the appropriate chaff or flare depending on the missile that is chasing you. and once I was able to lock onto a ground target with PL-5EII - not sure how to replicate it, but it did take out the target. I'm assuming it works the way the Aim-9R

[WIP] Plane won't power up and won't start up engine
Napillo replied to Aries101's topic in Bugs and Problems
happens randomly, it's fine - I'm sure some pilots deal with this issue sometimes. IRL they would just ask to connect ground power and its all good. -
The SD-10 is able to be launched on a Link-17 target IRL, idk why Deka won't allow it.

Where is the JF-17 official manual? I can only find a chuck's guide.
Napillo replied to Napillo's topic in JF-17 Thunder
The issue is that 'Chucks Guide' is not official, I have no reason to believe anything 'Chuck' says because he's not the authority on the DCS JF-17, Deka is. I'd love to have a complete guide, Chuck's isnt complete, though it is good. I paid good money to get the thing, and the lead guy at Deka said there'd be an official manual in interviews. I don't see why I can't expect to get it. -
You only need to set that if you don't want to get shot down by friendlies. Otherwise, it's ok to leave it off.

GBU bomb drop line/square/beep tone and chucks guide different
Napillo replied to Kitchen_Duty's topic in JF-17 Thunder
probably now compounded by the laser malfunctions in the last patch. -
So that's why I always have to hit 10 degrees pitch up and FCS always warns me when I take off...

[FIXED] Can not manually 'load' the aircraft anymore in the latest patch
Napillo replied to Napillo's topic in Fixed Bugs
that will definitely help me get in the air faster, thanks! -
try turning off the AAP for the WMD and see if that helps? I know its not a fix, but that might help them determine where the issue is.

A DCS Manual - official Deka manual for the JF-17 would be great. -
