SD102 have been reduced on its perfomance/tracking
Napillo replied to Tinchus2009's topic in JF-17 Thunder
so hopefully when this is fixed, sd-10 can launch on link-17 targets? -
I think it'll make it less competitive in the short term, but absolutely the right thing to do. I'd say update the asset pack too, specifically sams, the 'radar horizon' is a real thing, which doesn't seem to be modeled in dcs.
-
its modeled based on one of the profiles provided by ED. As far as I know, the tracking should be correct, but the flight envelope, thrust etc all have to be done by ED, and they provide a few variations, but none which use the thrusters as the SD-10 would use them, so they have to do the best with what they can.

[FIXED] plane flyable in mission editor although not owned
Napillo replied to bephanten's topic in Fixed Bugs
this is why we can't have nice things -
I will say the knob at the top right for on/off looks more rounded in the photo, and the bottom middle button of the MFDs kinda have a reddish glow to them.
-
I believe the flight computer does that so the missile smoke won't be ingested while in afterburner, I don't think it's because actual smoke goes in.

[FIXED] LD10 power and launch issue after reloading
Napillo replied to RealDCSpilot's topic in Fixed Bugs
When this happens again, push the A/S1 button, does it say UNK UNK UNK and then has the arms listed? -
[FIXED] LD10 power and launch issue after reloading
Napillo replied to RealDCSpilot's topic in Fixed Bugs
I have experienced this myself. I can't reliably replicate it. -
[FIXED] Can not manually 'load' the aircraft anymore in the latest patch
Napillo replied to Napillo's topic in Fixed Bugs
no, after. As you can see, I flew up, fired weapons, requested rearm, and it completed, then I hit the 'load' button - SD10 were correctly showing quantity 0 (zero). I changed quantity to 1, it went red. I changed it to LD-10, it disappeared, changed it back to SD-10 and set quantity, and it went green. It's all in the track file. -
I'm pretty sure that's not fuel flow, as it doesn't appear the engine is even on, and he's got spped break out, and he's pulled the emergency brake.
-
You have to switch targets manually, it doesn't do that automatically anymore since two versions ago.
-
That's not the same model that's in the game (more buttons so its Block 2 or 3) and that's a photo from the pilot's lap, not from his head.
-
I reloaded after a mission, manually used the 'load' (even with the bugs with that) and I was able to get it to work, but I refilled chaff and flares as well, and the numbers didn't update, there doesn't seem to be a way to change the number loaded unless you ask the ground crew to update the DTC. Also, just taking out and re-inserting DTC doesn't work, It should work, as the data in the DTC wouldn't be cleared when loaded would it? idk if this is a bug or not, but is there really no way to set the chaff/flares numbers manually? also it appears to load from the DTC 'EWS' section, not 'SRS'.
-
how to get the log and/or track instructions here would definitely help with that issue.

[FIXED] Can not manually 'load' the aircraft anymore in the latest patch
Napillo replied to Napillo's topic in Fixed Bugs
uploaded track file weapons manual loading issue.trk also this is with the patch released today -
nice! Always wondered why that displayed all weird.

so it works, but you have to switch modes a few times, or you can STT from TWS, but from RWS, no.
-
TPOD head moving to the opposite side of the target.
Napillo replied to NaCH's topic in Bugs and Problems
yep, affects exterior view only. -
You'd use RWS if there's more than 10 things to track in front of you (say 5 friendlies and 5 enemies). It should display up to 40 things, but as others have pointed out, it doesn't do tracking. So you have a dot, but you won't know which direction they're headed, you just have altitude. The good thing is, you can know which way they're pointed with the Link-17. So, if the awacs can see them you can see that on your SA page. You can get more range from RWS than other modes, but that's about it. The radar itself should be able to calculate RCS (its listed as a feature of the radar itself) so you could theoretically identify which airplanes you're seeing, but they didn't put it in the game. Also RWS is supposed dto go into STT once you lock a target, but that doesn't seem to work well currently. STT is better for keeping a lock on a wildly maneuvering aircraft, its unbreakable. TWS is supposed to be easier to break (ex: if the plane goes into a steep dive or does a quick turn) but it's overperforming right now.

[FIXED] Can not manually 'load' the aircraft anymore in the latest patch
Napillo replied to Napillo's topic in Fixed Bugs
I found a workaround for this, you have to manually load, select the appropriate missile and quantity, it turns red, then select the wrong missile and quantity, it goes blank, then you select the appropriate missile and quantity and it's good. -
[CHK] Radar SAM mode not activating from RWS
Napillo replied to Napillo's topic in Bugs and Problems
I have been messing with RWS more in the latest patch, and you can't lock something up in RWS, it switches to TWS, and you have to switch again to RWS, then lock them again, then you press the second button on the top to access other radar sub modes, but those don't seem to change anything, and I still don't see SAM mode.- 1 reply

that happens to me on the Marianas map if I don't start the engine within the first 5 minutes. If I can get it started and get the cooler on, I bring it up around 20,000 ft and put 'ram air' and then switch back to normal, that seems to cool off the electronics enough that the warnings go away. Then all you have to do is press the FCS reset button.
