If you look at the video I linked, only one of the two smokes, the other doesn't and they're flying formation. You have to pause it to see the tail numbers, and you have to understand how the tail numbering works. You also have to pay attention to when the video was recorded, not when it was posted to youtube. There's a video out there from 2011, posted in 2019, about the JF-17 in some demonstration, and it is smoky. There's another video, recorded in 2019, which was posted in 2020, and it shows the JF-17, and none of them are smoking, save one - 12-142. I believe they fixed the DEEC in 2012, but I'm guessing this 12-142 was probably one of the last ones built in 2012, and most likely used the DEEC from a stock of them that hadn't been updated. They fixed the issue in lets say early-mid 2012, and you can see in the 2019 video that the older (10-126) JF-17 apparently has an updated DEEC, most likely because they had to go back in and replace the radio to the block 2 standard, and they probably updated the DEEC (either by installing new software, or replacing it outright) at that time, because the jet was in for service anyway, so might as well do it all in one go. The 12-142 probably had the new radio, so they didn't bother updating the DEEC, unless they have to pull out the radio/seat they're going to leave it as is - it's a lower priority fix, a slightly smoky jet still shoots missiles.

the wings are not supposed to bend In JF-17. Real pilots were asked, and they said that you cannot visually notice any wing bending during maneuvers
-
Yes, the video you referenced was from 2011, and since then it looks like that issue has mostly been solved.
-
Did you ask the ground crew to remove the ladder? That's not in those tutorials.
-
do you have a video or track file?
-
I see this all the time, and have decided to ignore it, as it is rarely correct.
-
I believe that's how long it's going to take for you to arrive at your selected waypoint (currently 00 which is where you spawned in).
-
provide a track file and post a topic in the bugs forum.

oh, or you can turn off 'icing on the cake'

You're probably not suffocating, but freezing to death. Get the engine started first thing, and then turn on ECS and close the cockpit.

So the difference is the smoke seems to show on videos made in 2010 or 2011, but not seen at all (or slightly as speed changes) in later videos. I'm assuming that's when they updated their DEEC to reduce the smoke.

tail numbering: 10-### = 2010, 11-### = 2011, 12-### = 2012... with that in mind, and assuming we have at least a 2011, hell even a 2010, the tail smoking like that is incorrect. Sure, one of the aircraft has some tail smoke, that was a 12-142, and then only intermittently as it changes speed. The other didn't seem to have that problem. And on the ground, both the 12-142 and 10-126 didn't have any. Tail smoke was an early problem in FC-1 prototypes but it doesn't seem to be much of a problem like it is in DCS. Videos recorded from 2010-2011 seem to exhibit the tail smoke, however, more recent videos do not (also no block 2 smoke issues) which leads me to believe that they fixed this problem with the DEEC in 2012 as they were finishing up block 2 dev. If we are to have a block 1 upgraded with some block 2 stuff, you'd see the DEEC fixed to prevent the smoke issue, as you can see these are block 1 planes in this video, and they don't exhibit the issue. That would of course mean, less fuel wasted.

Su-30MKK Full fid or FC3 version?

It doesn't even have to be "fairly" modern, just full fidelity. -
Two funny start up items and a bad joke on take off
Napillo replied to DmitriKozlowsky's topic in Bugs and Problems
If you watch the FCS page as you take off you will see there is a dot that gets filled in as the 8 degrees assist kicks in. -
I don't know, if there was an official manual, I'd know what it's supposed to do...
-
as in the title - fly around where there is some ground radar, push 'GND' and nothing changes with the RWR. Ground radars still show.

if you want different betty, feel free to use the custom, there's even some on userfiles that simulate the betty of the usa aircraft... https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/filter/type-is-sound/localization-is-english/unit-is-jf-17/apply/

if you check that 15 degree angle, its less than 23.5 degrees, so that may be accurate, 45 is easy to measure, take a corner of a piece of paper, fold it in half, you got 45 degrees.
-
When you first activate the radar, it has some target that is just way out nowhere, you have to do 'unlock target' to get rid of it when you first turn on A/G radar.
-
its not picking up any IR missiles fired from the rear aspect, at all.
-
I believe if you hit the MRK button and change it from OFLY to DSG, and hit MRK again, you can save it to 41
-
I'll say also choose the right ammo type (it won't be detected, you have to do that) - the SAPHEI ammo flies faster, so the bullets would hit above the target if you have the wrong ammo type selected.
-
your aircraft can still see the object, sure, but look at it from the bomb's perspective, heck just get out a laser pointer and point it at something like a box on your floor, then go to the other side - you wont see the laser dot because you're on the other side of it. the bombs are optical guided, they need to see the laser, not you. try doing this at night with the tgp and nvg on see if that helps it make sense to you.

try leaving the elevation at zero, if you're offsetting the elevation, wouldn't that try to aim UP another 200ft instead of where it actually is? remember, the whole thing is an OFFSET not a marker - you're offsetting the elevation too. Just put in the differences in elevation, not the actual elevation, because this is an Offset Aiming Point, not a DST.

ahh, that makes sense, so i had to push the radar down to see the things in front of my SPI...
