Fox-2's not giving LA or tone unless in longitude scan.
okopanja replied to EasternEagle's topic in MiG-29 for DCS World
This is correct conclusion, but again not sure if it is a fog thing. I was able to activate the condition by trying to connect to contention which was 100% occupied, I did not even get to the lobby of the server. Just plain rejected connect attempt was enough to trigger the condition and only on this server! Maybe there are others as well, since this may very much have to do with their settings on server or with the mission file itself (I am not sure if attempt to connect results in immediate miz file download, or only after the server accepts it). Whatever the root cause is, it is safe to state that FC3 avionics of flanker/fulcrum get screwed up permanently. At all this time e.g. FIO mode works just fine, you get the tone. Missiles also track the target. I did make a full repair(slow) + cleanup including disabling any of the mods, and it still behaved the same. -

Its ok, btw meanwhike I did cleanup and repair, including disabling any of the mods. Still the same, will do full repair and try again. -

@Ironhand Steps to reproduce: Make sure DCS is not running Start DCS In multiplayer, connect to Contention server (syria 80s) On start screen click disconnect (you may even spawn, just connect and immediate disconnect is enough) Play trk (or open it as a mission), the PR will not appear anymore. One remark: I tried multiple servers on Caucasus and Syria, only on Contention this happened. I took a look at their miz, file all the things that occur there are invoked from lua files loaded on their server. So likely something they do there affects the clients afterwards. -

Preliminary result: you have to connect to Contention server first. Afterwards my mission does not show PR anymore... @sleestakONE BIG APOLOGY FROM ME TO YOU! -

Let me reply trk myself (maybe in reply I do get PR). During flying I had not LA/PR at any time both on Caucasus and Syria... -

NO LA_PR_Caucasus.trk Same here. Disabling FOG has no effect. -

Here is the TRK file which reproduces the problem (Syria map!) @sleestakwhile we wait for the beta testers, please try this out and tell us does it work for you now. NO LA_PR.trk -

Still ok you can tell us with which weather profile/settings it works and on which map. I hope others will check the rest. -

Contention server is the best palce to try. And it is not a fog issue, it happens even at high altitudes with cold AB targets. @sleestakwe understood that works for you, good for you! Now please remain quiet and let multiple people having the same issue talk. -
It can not do all of this things at the same time with no performance degradation.
-
I share your confidence, especially since the locations of all objects are well known inside the game engine.

Probably this needs report on HB, btw in the past (not sure if true still) Jester from F-14 was seeing through cockpit and calling on ET launches from below.

Yes, I am not surprised since I carefully tracked interviews of ED employees over the years, in particular sales director. The ditching of the arcade version of DCS I correctly understood as bringing DCS more to that mainstream market. My concern here is that the market for the arcade level of simulation is already saturated. Companies courting that kind of the audience are already established and quiet frankly they execute way better than ED. They also do not have the complexities of 3rd party integration and corresponding frictions on technical and business level. Even if they use the sub-contractors they do control that very strictly so the end effect always is toward their advantage. I am pretty sure I am not the only person stating the obvious.

With all due respect this sounded as a funny way to respond to constructive remark from loyal customer. Can you please elaborate how the multiplayer with modern sets would work? Whom will you motivate the fly on opposite side?

Luminosity(as e.g. a glint of Sun reflection as I posted earlier) can play a great difference when it comes to the ranges at which you can spot the thing. This can be best seen in morning or eveming if airplane is positioned so it reflects light toward observer. There is no way you can miss this, looks like a very bright star in sky.

Is this one from the original 181xx series?
-
Depends on the airplane and their avionics upgrade. E.g. in Mig-29 we have in DCS this is pre-programmed on ground. Cockpit should have a keypad for entry of navpoint coordinates. There are various coordinate formats each with different precision.

Mission editor scripting can do this, but it will not work in multiplayer.
-
Yes, but they fought with that livery on, so actually more relevant.
