Exactly, do not buy !!
-
What does that mean ? I do not personally buy a module unless it has a AFM/PFM or a recognised EFM. That is why I am not interested in this module and to advertise for a programmer in the field does not instill confidence. It appears DCS is VERY demanding and only a handful of developers out there are up to scratch. Lets just say I now realise just what a pile of crap Microsoft FS really was when it came to their FM and same with P3D whatever. Personally if it doesn't come from Heatblur, Belsintek or ED, I won't buy anything period Mizzy

There isn't a thread for 'Graphic errors' or 'LOD errors' Threefold: Firstly there is a graphic 'tear' in the Su27 external cockpit when you use F2 and look at the cockpit at an angle roughly 270 degree ! It is hollow and shows the external environment. It's very small but annoying. Secondly, the fog is green and has no blend but I suspect this has been reported umpteen times. Also the aircraft external lights from a distance (nothing to do with the song) start to look like squares rather than round as the LOD is not right. Late press !! Also the Mig25 et.al. have poor LODs because all their detail just goes in an instant. You can't see their weapons or their stations at a low distance as they fly past. Not essential but hopefully w may have a proper Mig25 model and pay a little bit more tribute to the aircraft rather than it being a 'Billy no mates' afterthought. I would pay lots of money for a Mig 25 module !! just saying. Mizzy

I don't know the person 'Gos' only that he will be continually loved and his spirit will still guide ! All my love to his family x

Sorry Sir, didn't keep a track file. Going to try it in the NTTR map now :-) Mizzy

Correct, I don't fight or shoot weapons at other aircraft and never have. I use DCS for other reasons like flying around and using navigation in bad or clear weather. Also I populate the sky with aircraft flying neutral around the map. The trains are still buggered though so no train journey's just yet :-) Mizzy

No external fuel tanks on any of the aircraft. Unfortunately I did not keep the mission, it was just faffing about as I was bored this afternoon. I did try it again and the Su 24m was the fastest aircraft in the game as it flew supersonic all the way to Kutaisi at 845kts @15,000ft. All the other aircraft used up too much fuel and either dropped to between 350 to 450kts just short of Sochi. Something else of interest was if I swapped the aircraft from Russia to USA (the ones that could), they all returned to base when fuel was low for example the Mig21 !! If I chose the Mig21 for Russia, it completed the flight plan but throttled down when fuel was low just like the Su27 Mig31 etc. but flying for USA it returned to base ! So there must be different tactics in the AI programming for different Countries. Plus all the fighters for the USA have a top speed of 917kts in the mission I made !!!! Mizzy

I had a few hours to kill today (not combat cos I don't fight) and decided to do a test of which aircraft was the fastest. Well, the latter is in two parts and if you read on, you will understand why. The following is the test criteria: Missions settings same for all airfraft, just swapped them over. All clean load, full fuel etc Aircraft tested: Mig29s Su27 Su24M Viggen Mig21 F15c F14 Mig25 Mig31 Mission flight plan was from Krymsk to Kutaisi at 15,000. The results were top speeds as follows: Mig29 1022kts Su27 994 F15 917 Viggen 917 F14 917 Su24 845 Mig21 756 Mig31 748 Mig 25 740. Shortest range at top speed: Mig 29 Fastest sustained top speed: Su24 Aircraft that made it to destination: Su24 Su27 Mig29 Mig31 Mig25 RTB after bingo fuel: F15 F14 Mig21 Aircraft using alternate airfield: Viggen (Landed at Sochi) The most interesting winner was the Su24 which travelled to the destination sustaining supersonic (845kts) all the way to Kutuisi making it the winner by the shortest time to destination followed by the Su27. So the fastest aircraft overall was the Su24M with the Mig29 having the fastest top speed. Sorry to bore the ar*s off you. Have a nice day. Mizzy

So much has changed with DCS since BS but I suspect ED may give it an overhaul one day even though I also suspect it's sales are not great which means less priority. That's business folks. I am waiting for the Mig 29 to have PFM, that is what I am mostly waiting for. In short, we all want improvements ! Patience is a virtue until you become too old to wait :-) Mizzy

Read the system specifications, it clearly states a GTX970 or above needed for you graphics card. Mine is a 1070 and it's just managing. Mizzy

One of my favourite air frames, will it ever get a PFM ? Mizzy

Who on earth planned Duxford airshow and Scampton airshow to be held on the same weekend in July 2018 ? Surely TFC knew about when Scampton was scheduled for ?? Mizzy

Hi, Do you have any work that can point to 'proof of concept' ? It doesn't have to be this project but any of your previous work that shows it's DCS standard ? Mizzy -
I have purchased Flaming Cliffs 3 years ago and wondered is my purchase still valid for the new Su33 PFM and the new KUs model ? Is the Kus Model available with the new update ? and how do I know if I have the new update ? Thank you Mizzy

Get an MP3 to OGG converter ;-) Mizzy

It's simple and this guy along with Beastybaiter taught me very quickly. A bit useless for me since I don't fight but interesting as to how the systems work if you do !!

I have been playing ED games since the 1990s and seen a lot of changes with staff (programming etc) through the years. Their product for me was always way in advance of anything else out there at the time. Flanker 2 and it's massive upgrade to Flanker 2.5 was a great flight sim experience. Then came Lock On which I personally felt was a rushed out product with a bad publishing deal, I really thought it was the end of ED and the fighter Collection....but low and behold a message came that they were changing their direction and concentrating on high production values for commercial flight simulation with the release of Flaming Cliffs and the development of Black Shark and A10C...hence the birth of DCS. I remember I posted about having a spitfire modelled in Lock On only to be told it was only modern air combat .."phfffff" I said to myself, it was only a matter of time and I was right :-) big cheesy grin. I am going to make another prediction, I can see that there will be commercial aircraft developed in the future for us people who are not hell bent on blowing things up and shooting anything that moves, hence Digital combat and commercial simulator (DCCS). I support this simulator above any other even though in my old age it is increasingly becoming very challenging. One day I hope to see the F104, 105, F4 Phantom B,C,D (my favorite plane) but also the Tiger Moth.......one day. Lastly, I can't see anything wrong with FC3 type modules coming out depicting things like Vietnam and Korea battles for the average simmer, don't forget that market ED ....PLEASE. Thank you for nearly 20 years of flight simulation with ED and TFC. Mizzy

At the beginning of this year, it was mentioned that new effects would be added to DCS ! I am mainly talking about new clouds, rain effects, environmental etc. I am just enquiring as to the development of the said and if it's going to be part of DCS 2.5. On a different tangent, will DCS ever consider commercial aircraft for modules rather than all combat aircraft ? Afterall DCS could mean Digital Commercial Simulator......OR DCCS ;-) Mizzy

Anyone have a full change log of the new 1.5.5 ? Mizzy

I love the L39 and fly it most the time. It taught me navigation and all the NDB, flight paths, glide approach, RSBN etc etc. It was a bargain buying it, brilliant module. Mizzy

Brilliant and thank you and apache...means a lot to me when the community helps to this depth to help a fellow community member x Mizzy
