Thanks. More to come soon! -
https://www.nationalmuseum.af.mil/Visit/Museum-Exhibits/Fact-Sheets/Display/Article/1519680/target-berlin/ Formations were swamped by escorts. you usually had zig zaging mustangs flights at three different heights above the bombers.

12. / JG.54 Interesting fact about this JG is, that 12. Staffel bore light blue waistbands according to newly surfaced pictures. Several of the other JG´s didn´t so one good reason to include this. -
Not even that. It just says normandy. and its also the same old normany map.

Geschwader Stab of JG.2 Leading edges of wings polished with simoniz wax for those extra 5 kph of speed. Geschwaderstab Markings are a tad fictional, since i cant find any others, apart from very specific roles. -
Well the dora is a different beast. The anton was more or less outclassed by the end of the war. Anyway, youd fly differently in an anton than compared to a dora. The anton is defo a teamplane and "attack from height advantage only" plane. Many people try to press it into tight dog fights which is your death sentence. But against a mustang its a tight fit one can manage to handle. Alone against a spit... tough.

Can't find or connect to friends server
Doughguy replied to kaffehtrinkhen's topic in New User Briefing Room
i had a similar problem with my connection the tpic is in german but google translate might help. i couldnt set up a server, as my provider did not establish the needed full fledged IPv4, but a DSLite-tunnel version. My mates provider did the opposite and it worked all good. -

Those new .50cal rounds have some stopping power now! -
Theres tons of possibilities to implement fatigue. The thing is if people are willing to A) program it and B) people on the receiving end will accept it. Any simple code can check if simple +/-y/x/z axis movements are input in rapid sucession and output some sort of "countermeasure" but it wouls need to be precisely determined when this happens. If you have a short stick with short throw your movements will be jerkier anyway. If you enter a pio, movements will be jerkier etc etc.
-
Yeah i figure its pulling to hard. If you follow flight procedures it will t/o in said fashion. However often simply our digital inputs are the culprit. Short throw leads to biiiig inputs lead to a buckin dora. Its a bit of muscle memory to remember the right spot where she lifts off smoothly.
-
Do you start with wind? If you look at my post above thered only few things you need to keep track of. Rudder to the right and stick back and right. I sometimes even apply mw50 if pressed. No problems. The key is to not overdo the inputs. The required inputs come in a sequence. Ruder takes effect first. Apply full rudder until you notice you start drifting right. Then release bit pressure until you are straight. Technically it would be the same as with the mustang w/o trim. Then when approaching 150 kmh gently center the stick but keep slightly right. Once the dora gets airborn which happens quickly she can flip over abruptly if you have stick full back. So a bit too much stick right will hurt less than stick full back. Power isnt really the problem. Shes a bit of a dive for the start. You have to guide her. Then she'll purr *lawnmowersounds*

There you go Edited the first post so its permanent. https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3330251/ Ill try that one tomorrow to have another off-site download link. Default files are usually de-shtonkified but full-shtonks included. Feedback highly welcome. Thanks to everyone involvled! Espescially DB605 and Magic Zach! Now, how do we proceed. I´ll take a small break from this and allow some room for feedback to trickle in. There´s still some JG.´s left to be done. Once i finished my little project, i´ll clean up the template and provide it for you guys to make your own liveries. But for now i have a beer and- 229 replies

Fixed, Polished, Cursed, Wrapped. Just need to find a way to upload this as ED has the 300mb restriction per upload.. -
Since i own both 190s and the Mustang, i say the Mustang. Its easy to t/o and land and flies rather smootly w/o much quirks compared to other planes. 190s are diffuclt to t/o, land and groundhandling. spit and 109´s even more and the 47s need much engine care afaik. But if you can handle t/os and landings in the 190´s you gonna be all good with them. There´s plenty advice for both birds on here. But to break it down: Dicta Boelcke is a good start. Fight on your (planes) terms! Always! If you´re in a bad pos, disengange or creep away. Do not get target fixation. It´s a death sentence, especially in the Anton. Picking your prey from a good position is essential, instead of hot-headedly diving into a fight. It´ll simply get you killed. Flying the 190s you kinda get used to flying very disciplined and observant. Both planes are very good divers and climbers and can withstand quite some tight turns and high speeds. So ideally, you want to observe, where your target is and where its going, to judge a good angle of attack, without much deflection. Then latch onto it, pull up and extend. Most of the allied planes will not be able to catch you, if you stick tightly to b&z tactics. If something gets off, abort, climb, and reasses the situation. Fly safe first. Agression comes with experience, as you learn your planes capabilities. Both, Dora and Anton cant really turn well compared to the allied planes, especially with the spit. So generally dont, you´ll just stall and flip to the other side, which the 190´s like to do. Against the Mustang, the Dora can hold its own quite well, as performance-differences are marginal. If going low and slow, add start or even landing flaps during turns. Helps a lot to stay stable as the 190´s seem to depart flight easily especially if you pull to hard and also you can turn tighters. Just dont deploy flaps during highspeed turns out of dives. Guns can jam. Ideally you want to retain a fighting speed of about 400 - 500 upto 4000 meters. The Mustang will have the edge above 6000 meters as it simply was designed as a high alt escort fighter and has better wings compared to the dora and anton. Do not try to outdive the mustang, its faster in the dive and has better speed retention. Climb alot! Tight rather steep chandelles with mw50 engaged will give you the edge over mustang and spit. once you have like min 500m height seperation and the bandist is on your front quarters drop on it. Try to extend from bad situations instead of maneuvering wildly. The term Cadilac is quite accurate. Dora and Anton retain speed badly. Especially the Dora is quite a monster. Engage mw50 and do a shallow climb. Often AI disenganges after a minute, if not, start chandelles, climb, swoop, rinse and repeat. The 190´s are team planes, especially the Anton. Also try to get accustomed to the Doras gyro sight. Its arkward and more diffcult to handle compared to the mustangs, but if set right just damn deadly. The static sight is all about experience really. Short burts will light up the allied planes quite fast, especially from closer ranges and from slight angles. ideally from below. a broken radiator will usually force the mustang to disengange, factually making it a kill. The Thunderbolts take more punch, but well placed shots do magic. I16s are nimble little suckers, that can dish out and take alot of punch! And compared to the dora/anton, rather very slow! So dont underestimate these when they lure you into a dogfight, they can fly like a kite at these speeds, while you struggle to stay airborne.

Gruppenstab of JG51 Noticed some major bug in the diffuse and roughmat on the wings for previous textures and had to fix that. It´ll take some time now to resave all the previous textures... Also some stenciling on the diffse got pushed around once ive inspected the other textures..... oh well.. Anyway. I´ll rest with making more versions and JG´s for now, finish the fixing and make sure, that JG301, 3, and 51 will be nice and wrapped up for an initial release, before i do more versions. -

Not much happening.Just fixing bugs i keep discovering. Other things i kinda fight touching cause they´re a pita to fix... pattern and seams dont go well together.. *sigh* Meanwhile, some pics of the finished 13./JG.51 pattern. Not sure on the disruptive pattern on the main wings. JaPo/ Crandall are contradictive in that matter. Colors in general rather speculative... but the 301s were painted with brown all over so this makes a nice change.. Gonna do the Stabsversion of this JG soon. -

Stab of JG.3 Markings are a bit fictional, based off of Oskar Romm´s << Markings making him Gruppenkommandeur (if im not mistaken). Not much sense at that point to create one offs. The camo patterns for << and for its sister marked < were quite alike. Wings were re-used from one of the JG.301 planes to save diskspace.
