Good afternoon! Just did the first lesson, thanks for this incredible aircraft. I was wondering if I missed something, but I didn't get any image on my external MFDs. Most modules just "get them" based on the DCS configuration I have. But some, like the F-14 need some extra work. Could you please point me in the right direction? Thanks, best regards, Rafa.

Clarification on future of WW2 Asset Pack
RafaPolit replied to DD_Fenrir's topic in DCS: WWII Assets Pack
This is, for me, one of the biggest downsides of "module purchasing" model. If it were subscription model, they are "obligated" to produce regular updates, fix bugs, etc. With the module purchasing model, it's more lucrative to simply focus on new things and capture the money of those that haven't yet spend theirs on the products. Therefore, you can end up with Warbirds that have bugs going back YEARS, that no one addresses, because: hey, they already bought the module. They can use it, or park it in the hangar, we already got paid for that module, moving on. Obviously, with smaller teams and roadmaps, they have to prioritize something and focus on something, they cannot work and fix everything. But the level of neglect on the WWII area is really, in my opinion, beyond acceptable ranges. -
Military Assets for DCS by Currenthill
RafaPolit replied to currenthill's topic in Static/AI Mods for DCS World
There was an offer a while back to configure a remote repo with all the assets. That would be the "best of both worlds" as OVGME could detect new versions of packages and download them, instead of us having to do this manually. I think it's something I would prefer over the current delivery method. -

You don't need it, but it's integration to the remote repository is much simpler than configuring one yourself and remember to pull the changes into the local files. So having a remote repo that auto-updates upon clicking a button would be ideal. -
Thanks for this. I'll look into it. This was, literally, one month after starting DCS, I was not even subscribed to the topic. Thanks for the PM. Since @cfrag's post made sense: if there is not enough "sea" to sink the ship, it should stay on top of the water. Still, some visuals as to it being "destroyed" would be nice, I have begun placing smoke markers on top of them so as to signal that they are, at least, already damaged. I remember this working on single player missions, but MP missions appear not to have it, but I would have to recheck that. Destroying the ship on a single hit is probably not what I'm after, as I believe there is a nice amount of "hit points" ships have and you have to hit them "correctly" in order to destroy them. So a single hit on a non-critical area I wouldn't want it to destroy the ship. Still, I'll look into it. Thanks.

reported Gunner Issues - Accuracy and engagement problems
RafaPolit replied to RafaPolit's topic in Bugs and Problems
In theory that is what the level of expertise is there for, right? A "newbie" or "trained" pilot should hit some and miss some, and an "ace" or "veteran" should be able to have a higher success rate a longer distances. The fact that this amounts not nothing is also a concern, but the mechanics are there for that. In this case, they are not engaging AT ALL! -
What are you talking about? Which systems are "barely functional"? Have you seen the videos? I think it's almost done.

F-15EX Mod
RafaPolit replied to VR Flight Guy in PJ Pants's topic in Flyable/Drivable Mods for DCS World
Thanks for this mod! It really looks interesting. I was wondering: as long as this uses the F-15C Cockpit, can the clickable FC-3 mod be used / altered to work with the F-15EX? I didn't out of the box, maybe I missed something obvious. Thanks for any insight! Rafa. -
reported Gunner Issues - Accuracy and engagement problems

I flew in formation with three A-20s for minutes and didn’t get shot once. If tracers are not showing, they have poorer aim than I do. -
I agree, but there is one further consideration: if the assets pack is not bundled with the Normandy map, and not included in any warbird purchase, the fact that you cannot fly ONE single instant action mission on ANY warbird on the Normandy map without purchasing the Assets pack is not really the right choice. Campaigns are a different thing. Here, there could be a couple of quick access mission and then most under the “requires assets pack” division (like the Hornet and Supercarrier) in order to lure you into buying them, sure! But not allowing you to fly a single mission in Normandy without the pack is simply wrong, in my opinion.

I believe planes can pass through those trees as well. I was following a P-51 and he just drove through the trees unharmed.
-
All the Quick Missions (Instant Actions) for the Warbirds (at least the P-51, Spitfire, FW-109A, FW-109D and Bf-109) make use of the WWII assets pack. This renders them useless for anyone that only owns the Map and the Planes. I believe that these should be: - Correctly marked in the Mission selector as requiring an extra package - There should DEFINETELY be a version that doesn't require the assets pack if the pack is not included with the map, nor required for any of the above modules Furthermore, there are some assets that are free from the assets pack and included with everyone's DCS copy, so those should be used whenever possible. All in all, I think it's not acceptable that EVERY SINGLE INSTANT ACTION for the Warbirds requires you to buy another product.
-
Well, checking the Bf-109 Quick Start missions, the Normandy ones all require the WWII Assets Pack. That is kind of limiting that the Normandy 2.0 scenarios REQUIRE the WWII Assets pack which is a different product. I believe these should be like the F/A-18 that you have some that take advantage of the Super Carrier, but having ALL the missions require an additional product is a bit too much, in my opinion. All the warbirds suffer from the same problem. I'll create a separate bug report.
-
Just to clarify: these are the Bg-109 instant actions for the Normandy scenario. I also own the assets so I cannot confirm from my side, unfortunately. I'll try to check the TF-51. We did a quick repair, maybe we need a deep repair. Thanks for the answer, I'll keep on investigating. If someone else has any ideas on what to check, I'd appreciate it.

I gifted Normandy 2.0 to my nephew, but he doesn't have the WWII Assets Pack. When he tries to load the Bf-109 instant actions, he gets a message that he needs the module Armour and Techniques. Not sure if this results from the fact it was a gift and I DO own the module, if there was something wrong with his configuration or if the instant actions are really wrongly created and they need assets that are not necessarily owned by the user. I'd appreciate some pointers. Thanks. Edit: Perhaps this is a Bf-109 issue and not Normandy? But he doesn't have any other module to try.

It’s amazing how fast you deliver updates and new products. May I request that, for those of us just getting familiar with your mods, and since you have grouped them by country on your website, that you include a [China] or similar to the name of the unit (and perhaps even to the PDF charts) so we know where to find them? Also to this release notes. Seeing ZTQ-15LT 1.0.0 [China] Released!!! would be great. Obviously as one gets more familiar with them this is not needed, but when you are new it can make a lot of difference. thanks again! Rafa. -
reported Gunner Issues - Accuracy and engagement problems
RafaPolit posted a topic in Bugs and Problems
Good afternoon friends. I'm trying to figure if this is a bug or a problem with my mission. I'm trying to configure a group of A-20G bombers. They move onto target and drop the weapons perfectly. The ROE and Reaction to threat, on the other hand, has no change whatsoever. No matter what I set them to, they won't attack the enemy fighters intercepting them. And no matter what I set them to, they don't react to me shooting them, they keep on going straight into their target. I have set the role as "Ground attack" and I am changing / setting the ROE and Reaction to threat on the WP0 configuration. Thanks for any insight. Rafa. -
Usually there's a month between the beta introduction of a feature and it's inclusion into the stable version. That said, I see really no point in playing the stable version as of the current state of the game, but since you said not to, I'm not going to ask.

With the amount of hype with the new Normandy 2.0 and most of the warbirds with a 50% discount to boost the WWII theater, it seems almost like an oversight that the WWII Assets Pack has not been discounted. Maybe it was a mistake? Hence I'm writing in case this was meant to be discounted. Thanks, Rafa.

Same experience for me.

Is the sun location / time correct in Normandy 2.0? I find it hard to believe this is 4:35AM (6th of June 1944)
-
I purchased first, then downloaded, the minute I jumped into the map I was on 2.0 with high res maps. This is in standalone version.

Question @Reflected: does this update already have your updated campaigns? Thanks!
