When I see the size of all textures for new planes (F14, F18, ...) I wonder it this texture downsizing should not be a good way to get back some fps if done for all of them ! -
Thanks to @Sl1ck , who provided me the two joined tracks, I identified some new shaders that are saturating GPU. I included the fix in the d3dx.ini below, can some of you try it and report for any side effects ? To test, just replace the d3dx.ini in the game installation (where dcs.exe is) by the one joined here. I'll add the fix in the next mod release (I want to add also a control for NVG grain). d3dx.ini bombs.trk cannon.trk

Did you have a car ? If yes, just take a look on reflection on windshield. Are they on the glass ? No, they look behind it, with their depth beeing the distance from the windshield. On DCS, all reflections are like transparent stickers on the glass. That's really unrealistic, the brain part in charge of building the picture of the world can barelly accept it, it's almost shoking. The opposite of what VR should be : instead of creating immersion it destroy it. No reflection is far far better than reflection done in this way. But why am I arguing with you ? Due to what you wrote below, it's obvious that you know better than VR player what we should see, even if you never put your nose into a VR Helmet in DCS....

That's strange ! You should loose about 5 fps, depending of option triggered (and maybe the shadow size if flat shadow soften is setup) Did you do the troubleshooting guide ? Can you try to install the 3dmigoto mod on a clean DCS version and check which mod is breaking it, by installing them one by one ? 3dmigoto is stand alone, so you won't break it by installing other mods...

I did a check and can not reproduce, either with or without SIMPLEX shader mod... So can you ensure that you did uninstall totally the former version of the mod (especially shaderFixes directory and d3dx.ini). Sometimes tools like OvGMe may left some files if multiple installs are stacked. You are no more using other shader mod than SIMPLEX You are using the v13.1 version as it is, without mixing anything If you still have the problem, post a track and your graphics settings.

01/21/2022 version 13.1 for stable and OB 2.7.9.17830 available in first post. flat shadow soften performance improvement compatiblity only with SIMPLEX version of kegetys shader mod add of some shader for flat shadow removal option (thanks to Gryzor) small performance improvement I removed any other version support because I tested SIMPLEX... Why are other version of Kegetys mod no more supported ? They are not compatible with online server using Integrity Check They need long compilation time They will not provide much better fps They double my work There is nothing to setup : install SIMPLEX, install 3Dmigoto, it will work.

I confirm for simplex, that's too bad I didn't test it before...It give 95% of fps win you can have with Kegetys shadermod with the encrypted shaders of current DCS version, without any of the drawbacks of other version of the shadermod.... The next release of my mod will be compatible with it. -
Hello, As written in first post, global illumination is not supported for the whole mod. I'll have a look on water quality impact for flat shadow soften, Maybe different shaders are used regarding water quality, I already had the issue for other things... I fixed the issue of flat shadow soften, I did not noticed it in my testings... it should be fixed in next release. I did also some testing and will ensure compatibility of 3Dmigoto mod with simplex instead of Speed-Of-Heat version of shader mod because it provided the same fps win for less impact.

Just test the same mission with or wihtout the shader mod. I used Quick mission/ A10CII / takeoff (caucasus) in VR as a bench, because fps are low so it shown if the mod is worth. From my point of view, game should be tuned for lowest fps (of course without saturation linked to too many units). I used fraps, it work also in VR, and use 30s delay (as soon as OK button is pressed in game) to get min/med/max fps numbers. I did a full repair, get measurement, install the shader mod and did again the measurements.
