  1. Based on that, I'm betting on a missile mod (possibly something else could do it too I suppose) that doesn't have it's weight added correctly, or something similar.
  2. No idea, but I notice your total weight also says "-nan(ind)", weird.
  3. Inside of 20 miles, switch to PAL mode. ("Target Designate fwd/PAL" in the bindings).
  4. That would require ED to do it. Via livery, anyone can do it. If you want ED to handle it, no problem, but it'll be 2 weeks™.
  5. Thanks for the Instant Action Missions!
  6. Is this still happening? I had something similar happen today. I had dropped tanks after selecting the Paveways, and I had to reselect Paveways again after the tanks dropped, otherwise Jester wouldn't get it right.
  7. What is this "manual" thing you speak of? Is that French for something?
  8. do anything right now? No, there is not. Zero chance until there's some major changes, which I wouldn't hold our breath on happening any time soon.
  9. If you start with "Shell select" without tuning first, what happens? What happens if you just start with "approaching for refuel"?
  10. I wouldn't be opposed to it, but without feeling what it would add, it's hard to say if it would be an improvement or not. I get a lot of feedback from the F-14 as is, and I like that, so more is better?
  11. For about a year now. He's put in a lot of work, and made some reasonable guesses and done a lot of math, but that doesn't change the fact that he cannot see what the DCS code does to the missile after it's handed off from the LUA code.
  12. I can see how you could think that, but don't forget, you're the ones trying to come up with the answers, when you have no idea what numbers you're missing in the source code you do not have access to. You can make all the assumptions, guesses, and even calculations you want, but at the end of the day, without the chunk of code you don't have access to, you're just guessing, and that's just... well, let's just say, it's extremely unlikely to be useful at all, making this a pointless exercise in totality that continues to go round and round without end. Until someone has access to ALL the code, it's pointless, and you CANNOT get the technical answers you're looking for, so that claim just doesn't fly (much like the Phoenix, haha).
  13. Check Discord we very much know it's real, but I'm not going to get into it here for obvs reasons.
  14. -1000 I don't work for free, and neither should they.
  15. Ah, yes, ok, there are some circumstances where you can do something outside of it's design, or where you can force that situation I guess. And I can see ppl whining about that, but, ya, that's just dumb.
  16. I haven't seen that one, is that really something ppl claim? (and seriously, if it is, how ridiculous)
  17. What throttle are you using? I don't think that's normal.
  18. It's in both the instant action missions, as well as the Single Missions for the 14. I think the full name is "Watching the Devildog" or something similar. In the Persian Gulf I believe (I'm not there to check).
  19. That's what I've been doing but it pops up over and over, and then eventually, nothing else happens... I notice it says "object doesn't exist", I'm thinking there's a some trigger that isn't triggering, been up and down the valley, nothing happens, orbited for quite some time too.
  20. No mods, any idea why I'm getting this error as soon as I start to orbit the convoy? null
  21. For reference... all exterior lighting turned to max. nullnull
  22. If you're using VoiceAttack and VAICOM (and if you're flying the 14 solo, I *highly* recommend it, I resisted for about a yr, finally took the time to set it up, and it's fantastic, more immersive too, for sure), try "set TWS MAN" (sets TWS to manual), and then you can tell Jester to "Track Single Target [1-8]". That can also be done with the Jester wheel, but I no longer recall how exactly. Using the voice commands is faster, and obvs, less distracting than using the wheel. So, if you don't like the VoiceAttack idea, you at least know it's possible, time to dig out your F-14 manual.
  23. Not trying to be difficult here, but, doesn't the air get thicker the lower you get, ergo, more resistance for the missile? And if the atmosphere is giving enough friction at 230,000ft, wouldn't that mean there's even more resistance at 50,000ft? (and I guess that would mean the heat is less on reentry at that height because there's been enough braking by then that it simply isn't moving fast enough to generate that much heat anymore?) Also, re: Felix, wouldn't his relative lack of speed, and decreased drag coefficient (from being a much smaller object, travelling much slower), have a huge impact here too? His top speed was "only" 1.25 mach. From NASA, "Typical low earth orbit re-entry speeds are near 17,500 mph and the Mach number M is nearly twenty five"
  24. I would have assumed that too, if IronMike hadn't also posted it at the very beginning of this thread, but ok, thanks.
