Errr... I'm sorry but: No, that's incorrect. About canopy/engine start: sound is nice indeed. I spoke about procedures from the real aircraft (I like trying to "do it well").

@ Robin_Hood, unless I'm mistaken, A/G designate and Magic slave use one (same) button only. OTOH, there is a Magic unlock button that is very interesting.
-
Actually, setting it On is part of the "before take off" C/L. Not of the start-up one. ;)

Hi, I didn't read the whole thread, maybe this has already been reported (sorry if it's the case). In mission #1, one of the allied flight has no pylons (but does have missiles). No problem for the CFT, though. I guess the bug comes from using "old" missiles as payload, and a simple update of the payload for this flight will do the trick.

Hi Baltic_Dragon, I'm trying mission 1. Easy peasy. When coming back to land, the IP instructs me to switch to Chan 1. As per briefing, TWR should be Chan 2 and GND be Chan 1. (it works with F10 & Chan 1, it's just not logical vs briefing)

The auto-start is WIP. ;) It hasn't been changed since early version, and updating it is on the todo list of the dev :) [edit] oh, BTW, your demonstration of manual procedure is quite off-the-book too: - you don't use GPU - you don't align INS - you start the engine with an open canopy, and without having set the parking brake - you don't set the back-up ADI Try following the training mission #1; it's almost complete (except for the last point above) :)

BTW the guy who made the video inputs the IFF code at the wrong place. He should input it on the IFF (in front of the stick, on the pedestal), not on the IFF interrogator (on the right console).

Hello :) You can't do that on the real aircraft... and you can't do that simply in DCS. I mapped the two release buttons (program and "panic") and I select which program I need with the mouse (selector). "Panic" is there if I'm surprised by an un-anticipated attack. I mapped to be as close to RL as possible. 1/ Using the boat switch of my Warthog for the 3-position selector: AA Guns/Neutral (PCA)/Magic 2/ When in Neutral (PCA), using my mouse to click on PCA buttons for other weapons or options. On a more global note: Why not trying to use the aircraft as it was meant to be? It's not a FC3 module. ;) ++ Az'

It's about a year to solid news on the projects. Not a year to release. I'm happy too about this, just let's not misinterpret things and be disappointed later on ;)

Get better soon! :)

Hi Well, as you don't tell us what you're doing, it's a bit hard to answer you... A track or more explanation would be welcome. Regards

Best guess: it was never deemed necessary to qualify this payload. After all, using the fuselage points you'll get 4 bombs and no just 2.

Training Mission 10 (INS Offset bombing) cannot update INS
Azrayen replied to Home Fries's topic in Training Missions
"PI" mode is supposed to trigger a temporary position update: - trigger PI - make an update (oblique method via TAS radar = using AG Designate/INS Position Update control) => this update is stored as temporary and will be used for your bombing run - make you bombing run, release weapon, egress... - then you have to choose if you want to save the update as definitive (VAL) or cancel it (REC) through the PCN. I've read (haven't tested myself recently) that there may be some bugs remaining in this feature in DCS. I'm not sure the "temporary" update is supposed to change the cross position or not. ++ Az' -
You're flipping the wrong switch. Razbam still needs to fix it fully. It's understandable to move the wrong one due to how they're presently mis-labelled (cockpit tips = error). The switch you need to move is on the left vertical "wall" of the cockpit, above the throttle. It currently has only 2 positions. And that's the one that should have 3 (off/day/night) when all will be fixed.
-
Why not :) But whatever you choose, it's already known & I guess it will be fixed in a future update :)

Err... Sorry no. No caging on the "main ADI" it doesn't have its own gyros but relies on the INS. The N/P lever is Normal / Pole (as in south pole). The P position is only used in case of device failure, so that an "all black" indicator is shown = it does not lead to pilot interpretation error. IIRC 1.5.5 u1 is correct about that. First 1.5.5 (or 2.0.4) perhaps wasn't. = = = = = = OTOH, the back-up ADI (which is an independent device, with its own gyros) needs to be: - engergized (CMGS switch on the right console => middle position) - uncaged (knob => click) ++ Az'

Training Missions bug tracker / improvements
Azrayen replied to baltic_dragon's topic in Training Missions
Theta = θ = always an angle (here, the bearing one) Rho = ρ = always a distance. This is useful to learn as it is used in various place on the aircraft (e.g. for setting up a BAD too...) -
@metzger, BAD is shown by the large needle. The thin needle only ever shows the VOR/ILS. As far as I remember the manual was OK with that (am at work, can't check). You don't press VAL immediately because when using IP mode your position update is a temporary one. If, after the bombing run, you want to turn this temporary update to a definitive one, then click VAL. If not, then click REC. You're not really supposed to make more than one bombing run with this (once you've bombed once, the ennemy will be in full alert=too risky). Plus there is a DCS bug ATM that only allows one position update per waypoint.

With a Warthog (and using a Target profile), no need for editing the lua. Simply use the 3 already available controls on the boat switch, it's perfect!)
-
CW / CCW is kinda standart with lots of modules. This would be perfect IMO: Decoy program knob - up (CW) Decoy program knob - down (CCW) And if other imputs are made to get to a specific position (e.g. useful for cockpit builders) then they should be: Decoy program knob - A Decoy program knob - 1 Decoy program knob - 2 ... Decoy program knob - 9 (or 10, can't remember the highest number just now)

The FM has been modified. Now we can test it (performance wise). The AP needs to have its "laws" adjusted. This is a time-consuming process. Better to do it only after previous step is validated ;)

Agreed with Bacab. Don't hope/hold your breath, so you won't be disappointed/suffocate.
