  1. I've searched around... There used to be a .pdf around explaining HSI and IFR nav and I can't seem to find it now. It got erased before installing a card that could handle this sim... Patch crashes me on impact of just about every weapon :( so...I thought I might match my wits to something else. A link or two would be a big help. Thanks in advance. ~Moosh {edit} http://www.navfltsm.addr.com/ndb-nav-adf-1.htm {second edit} --this also might be useful-- http://www.ch2a.ca/nav/ This might be of use to someone else as well.
  2. YES! --a streamlined system of automatic error reporting. ED, where have you been all my life? :)
  3. Renee Magritte would be proud Submunitions a la Magritte
  4. very generous offer. Thanks.+1 ...now if I can only figure out MSN. :)
  5. I think my brain just exploded...
  6. I lack the grey cells to be succinct, but I can imagine there must be an alternative to going either extreme (to left or right) which seems to be limited. That is, to simulate the pilot leaning over the panel and then looking straight down...seems not to work. Perhaps the "pilot" would get a better vantage point by leaning just slightly in the direction or even in the opposite direction(!) and then zooming into the panel to fill the whole view with just instruments-rather than the seat. Pilot prepares for ILS approach. Leans left, as if to fart, and glances right at an angle and zooms his eyeballs filling the screen with light switches to hit as well as ILS freq adjustments to make.
  7. wow... JUST the man I wanted to speak to. Is there a way to shift the view any further from center to fill the view with instruments alone--rather than with the edge of the seat? :wallbash: z trans line seems to be limited. :(
  8. I spent some hours trying to get the hang of the .lua files in the view folder with the helpful guidance of BoredTechie & BiPod I thought I'd post some pics and references so that others might not have to reinvent the wheel. ...Hope they're helpful to somebody. Cheers, Moosh P.S. Still a WIP...will update after I get some sleep.
  9. at the risk of hijacking the thread (with my apologies). Is attention to be paid to Q Calls in this release? --Should I make the adjustments accordingly (calibrate your altimeter to display the correct value for the current atmospheric pressure) or can I just relax and hope the suspension holds ;) Thanks Here's a pre-release thread FYI http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=65422
  10. I'm still waiting for my Mig Alley, DI's Superhornet and Falcon 4.0 to get patched. --Now THAT's old school. :D j/k... Cheers, Moosh I really enjoyed Operation Talisker --Thx
  11. IMO... a really articulate, gentlemanly post. Thanks Zomba
  12. --God, that guy is quick on the draw...! LMAO
  13. I feel your pain dude... I get it on IP lots. It's a consistent crash... Try to replicate it and hope it's in the log the next time. I think this may be a step toward a solution for us. http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=59946 [Posting it here for others who may come across this thread.] I have faith that no one is going to leave us in the lurch on ED's end. In the meantime, I'm planning on refueling and refueling and refueling a lot. I'm sure you would agree, the Quality Control gents are nothing if not attentive. Cheers, Moosh

  15. I'm not sure, but I think DU and its decay products are both alpha and beta emitters. Anyway, I can't vouch for veracity or fallacy. I’m not a scientist. From what I’ve read, DU or (or Uranium 238--what is left over from the fissionable element Uranium 235) offers a kind of a triple threat to living things--chemical toxicity, radiological toxicity and particle toxicity. Aerosolized sub-particles, soluble upon ingestion, are highly mobile and can enter into the nuclei of cells of any organism freely. It probably don't taste very good either.:( I hope you are right & I certainly hope it isn't harmful. I would like to believe it isn’t harmful. I sincerely would. Marion Fulk, a former nuke physical chemist at the Manhattan Project and the National Lab in Bethesda doesn’t seem to. She had a good deal to say on the topic of internalized DU particles affecting human DNA and RNA because of both its chemical and radiological properties. Alexandra C. Miller, a Doc @ the Armed Forces Radio-biology Research Institute goes on quite a bit about DU's chemical instability causing a million times more genetic damage than what would one would expect from simple radiation. (2001) --This is all just part of the fun. This DU has a half-life of 4.5 billion years--give or take. However, I didn’t do the study...I’m not a toxopathologist...I can’t know for certain who is right. All I know is, I’d take bananas over Depleted Uranium any day. …And I'll stay up-wind of the target… just to be on the safe side. What is undeniable is that the Gau sounds damned good, and that makes me happy. With respect to you Gents, Moosh
  16. At the risk of getting off topic... God, that place is full of temptations... It's evil it's so good. Ahem... Dude... I'd take you up on that in a heartbeat. --The accommodations, that is... :)
  17. DU is pretty grim all around...for the whole family and kids too...and the neighborhood. --Anybody with lungs, really, or any DNA they want to pass on... That's one paper I don't ever want to write again.:( Do Google image search if you want to feel really depressed for a few days. On the other hand... --I don't think Afgani women are big on biodermal biopalm biological faceoil either. No QVC in the Korengal valley.
  18. Chalk that delay up to Koh Samui Server(s?)... No slower and more unstable network exists on the planet than Koh Samui. Life itself down there seems to go by at 56kbits/s. Still... one of the best places on the planet to visit... Cheers, Leafer. Hope it gets to ya. Moosh, Seoul
  19. First of all, +1 for the ballsy metaphor. Second, my Dad would would be making a pass at her before he finished his first scotch. Third, Ed may be naughty, but she's going to college to become a paralegal...(she just does this to pay for school).:music_whistling: (Not sure if this is the reason for the difficulties people are having, but...) As to the substance of the thread, without getting into specifics, the probs I've had vanished once dropping the $ for a decent card. Save up your pennies if you can... ...Every stripper has a strange mole somewhere...or an ugly tramp stamp the size of a satellite dish...or say... a tooth missing:(...or wears perfume that smells like car air freshener... However, she's bound to have lots to offer. This one's smokin' hot from where I sit.:)
  20. switch dialog also seems intriguing but not in the manual...so I'm left to wonder.
  21. Neither of these is a way--in flight--to control volume of sim itself...I suppose (?) ~Just another on my list of noobminutia [This is coming from someone who thought you were supposed to let out a flare at the end of the runway just before landing...did this for a year in F4, literally...couldn't figure out why, though...] Of Course, there's also... Land GEAR vs. Gear up/down (I'm lost on that one.) Months ago, I got confused by "take off trim" assuming the former was a verb not a substantive adjective (which ought to be one compound word--no?) Then there's HUD color --which I assume is the intensity (brightness) of color as in the switch located on UFC? --haven't really gotten that one to function. --Night/Day seems to offer the only other color option for me. I'm left to guess that the termCommunication menu has nothing to do with communicating with what is accessible via mic switches ...I've assigned a key, but it's significance remains a mystery... can't find it in the manual :book: Anyway... Help, as always, would be greatly appreciated. ~Moosh
  22. Good point... Glad to know your safe.:)
  23. I hear you on this topic... But I put this in the category of establishing and maintaining good habits and, I suppose, respecting this as a study sim... Immersion baby... Hope things are stable where you are in NZ... I guess if gravity is "God's G"...then earthquakes are "God's force-feedback":(... stay safe. ~Moosh
  24. LMFAO! I got back with my ex-girlfriend. Now, I'm lucky if my opinions count at all.
