  1. I hear my girlfriend say this in my head constantly. I thought that was a bug, too.:hmm:
  2. That female warthog driver is adorable.
  3. +1 That's why I like this forum, this sim and this team of testers--each and all. ...I feel dumb enough in the cockpit... I'm never reminded of it when I ask a question on this board. (...it's abidingly clear :) ) Cheers, Moosh
  4. Clicking on this thread, I feel strangely aroused...

  7. I was trying to understand some discussion on here last week between a Pilot (Paul?) and someone else...and he mentioned FOD in the cockpit. Wikipedia came up with this http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Friend_of_Dorothy :music_whistling:
  8. Copy that. That was my first response... SPI was about 25 miles... It was the closest of all of them to target, however. Warrior X Many thanks... Will get to this this evening. Cheers All for the help, Moosh
  9. First, apologies to have to revisit this. The vets here must have their patience tried by those of us who are high functioning--but have reading comprehension issues. ____ I'm off the coast of sochi-adler. I get a 9-line. With what I've learned from Effte, STP dragon, warrior X and Strongharm, I confidently :smartass: enter UTM, name the steerpoint, switch from flightpath to mission, etc... from Dragon: __________________ I have the default 37T grid. My question is regarding the zero(s) apparently omitted from the JTAC call in the sim. Having heard "EJ80153" I should enter__________ A) EJ80153 B) EJ080153 C) EJ0080153 D) EJ0800153 E) EJ8000153 Many thanks. Cheers, Moosh P.S. I've tried all and have produced SPIs wildly off target. FYI: I'm in Threshor's night FAC practice mission
  10. That would be great Bahger.
  11. Radio Nav stuff through a thick soup to recover would be really interesting. IFR (VOR?) seems an, as yet, unexploited bit of immersive awesomeness to this sim. Thanks Matt
  12. I think that guy fell asleep in the tower. --Too many nightshifts.
  13. IIRC in on the way to runway fix in ILS mode.... It occasionally happens on way to waypoint... Suddenly they both, in unison (i.e. 1 on top of 2) shift--as if suddenly tugged-- for a brief moment to something significant, then they shift back to their original direction. Is there a reason for this? In neither case am I in TACAN mode. would appreciate a heads-up. It would really help me to get to understand the HSI better. Thanks. Moosh
  14. YES~! This would be excellent!
  15. +1!! Thanks so much for this. I posted this elsewhere, but would you or some other kind soul consider doing a radio-nav mission? something through the fog, perhaps? or through a mountain pass? The nav part of this sim seems infinitely challenging and interesting for those of us who want to try our hand at the other, less violent part of this sim. Thanks again for this. Cheers, Moosh
  16. http://www.demovfw.com/Fafa/Fafa/DOC/Cartes/chart_tutorial.pdf This has been a great help in my Falcon life...or it once was. DCS A10c Nav instruments--being more precise than Falcon--seem to be an untapped source of challenge in the sim. I was thinking something along the lines of something foggy and dangerous where terrain and pilot error would be a more serious threat than what one normally faces in the ED world. I don't think I quite have my brain around the Nav system, egi, or use of TACAN --though it's extremely gratifying trying to get the hang of it. I wonder if anyone has considered/would consider making a mission for the sake of those of us would like to get the instruments down cold before taking on SAM sites. Anyway... --I know consideration of this would be greatly appreciated by more than a few. Many thanks, Moosh
  17. Useful Thread This, as a nugget, really interests me. HOTAS, generally, is not my friend. --I own a Logitech 3D pro... I find I have more trouble with throttle than with anything else. StrongHarm, would you kindly recommend a setting for the throttle so that there is more give in the mid-range of the throttle slider? Would very much appreciate it. I saw somewhere in the Options/Keys a settings for "throttle step" ...I'll have to check it again, but perhaps therein lies a solution. ...Will have to revisit this when I get home. Cheers, Moosh
  18. I missed this... LOL~!
  19. Thanks!...I actually misspoke before... I meant "one end" rather than "one side" of the landing strip. --and English, is my first language... EDIT I see my Q. has been answered. Very interesting. --THANKS and welcome to the forums
  20. copy that, thanks NDP! As I whine about minutiae at my keyboard, some one in Moscow is hard at work coding through the wee hours of the morning...
  21. Interesting thread QFE calls giving barometric pressure (adjusted to airfield elevation) are also provided...although, I read somewhere that they are not quite accurate. I have no idea whether they are to be paid attention to or ignored. --But the science is interesting nonetheless. --What I can't get my head around is the following. One takes off into the wind. I get that--as per Bernoulli. 1.But, do planes land with the wind at their back? (?) I don't understand the science behind this--or whether if it, indeed, is accurate. --I trust ED's expertise over my stab-in-the-dark layman's guesstimate... but... something doesn't seem right about that.. Also... 2.Why are PAPI's at only one side of, say, Batumi airstrip and not the other? I think these will be used for the LSO when they implement the next fixed-wing aircraft. :smilewink:
  22. From one old guy to another, Well Done, Sir! Now, the residents of Kobuleti would appreciate if you'd kindly take your PGMs and get lost--so they can get some rest :furious::furious:. Cheers, Moosh P.S. "Age is but a number...":smilewink:
  23. Leafer, My Islander friend... I concur... It's a damn good stick fer the price.--remember, Shea, to give it a healthy deadzone on all axes. (axiseses?) Leafer, God knows if they sell these things where you are. I picture you sitting in the sand, staring at a volleyball. :megalol: _________ When, in fact, you're probably living the life of luxury--having much more fun and debauchery than I could ever dream. ~Moosh :)
  24. I think this is it. (posting for others who might be looking) http://www.demovfw.com/Fafa/Fafa/DOC/Cartes/chart_tutorial.pdf It was made with/for some old video game I've never heard of, but might be useful in this sim. :) Cheers, Moosh
