On rotorheads when the FARPs have no fuel supply it will let you spawn but you won't be able to drain any fuel before leaving. In that situation you can drain fuel at a logistics site or at another FARP that has fuel present.

Agreed. We're enthusiasts discussing virtual munitions in an ever expanding simulator. Wholly unproductive and plain unnecessary to be mean and ugly towards one another.

Volk is a treasure, can't say I would enjoy DCS half as much without his work especially as someone who only uses helicopters. -

I gotta heavily agree with FalcoGer, while rockets aren't 'useless' perse, in DCS with the mission archetype that dominates multiplayer (tanks,ifvs,apcs,sams) rockets are dead weight. Now if there was a warthunder-esque damage model OR a tree damage model so tactical deforestation was a possibility well that would change the dynamic completely.

Engaging targets in trees can be a exercise in supreme frustration. I find usually if you approach at a few different angles the missile will eventually hit.

fixed internally Select ACQ TADS to operate? Help!

I'm hoping that how it will be implemented in the future would be something like being able to select a target point as ACQ source and when directing George to slave it would make him look where the target point is. So when George is able to store target points himself I can scout an area then cycle through stored targets in succession. In it's current implementation I'm using waypoints for essentially all ground reference information which is cumbersome. -
Maybe just maybe the SA8 operators will be having lunch or something and won't punish my ill thought out suicidal attack run this time

Given the acknowledged issues with the work in progress flight model you're being reductive. -
They tightened the collective SCAS with the latest patch and as a result the saturation tone does not go off near as much but now ALT hold doesn't work properly. Attitude hold has similar issues where it will progressively decelerate or accelerate to the saturation point making it only useful at a hover.

Is this the YAW Issue are you talking about OP? Apparently seems to be when wind hits the aircraft in a certain direction. -
Hey guys, since the latest patch didn't solve my issue I took a short couple of clips showing the discrepancy between single player and multiplayer when George is using the gun. Are you guys experiencing the same issue as I am?

Ok the latest patch has not fixed the problem for me so I made a little video show casing what I'm running into. Are you guys experiencing the same thing as me in the video? Gun seems to work fine in singleplayer as the TADS range isn't instantly defaulting to 9999 like it does in multiplayer. I do start to come out of constraints on that second clip because I'm overflying the target lol.

RTE on bottom > DIR on left > Click on waypoint you want next. This will direct you to the next waypoint or you can delete the waypoint from the route (this doesn't delete the waypoint). You can also rearrange and move waypoints around to whatever order you wish. Play with it a bit, it's intuitive once you mess around with it for a while. Don't sleep on using the cursor also it can be a lot quicker than messing around with the keyboard unit.

After flying the huey I thought the Apache would be a dream, haha. What I found worked best for me was to set some fairly aggressive curves on all axis including rudder and setting a Y saturation value of 85 for pitch and roll and a deadzone of 3. After a while with some practice I raised the Y sats upto 90 and reduced the curves a little. When taking off I found the most important thing is to slowly increase the power and anticipate left pedal and with very gentle cyclic inputs slowly bring her off the ground into your 5 ft hover. -

Has anyone else found the attitude hold mode now doing the same since the latest patch? It seems to want to either accelerate or decelerate over a short period of time to the limits of constraints of the SAS box shown in the controls indicator. It's gotten me killed a couple of times while starring at the F10 map -
Is the range on the TADS 9999? I found in single player if you tell George to target something he will range it and then the range will update as you get closer and then when he fires he lases to get it accurate on target. In multiplayer this ranging doesn't seem to happen and will just display 9999 but if you set him to engage at will he will start haphazardly engaging in a weird truncated way firing off a maybe 1/2 a burst as he actively lases then stopping when not lasing. It's weird and I hope they fix it soon. Ideally George should get a laser range when the target is selected and it should give an updating estimate as you close in and then when you tell him to engage he should squirt the laser and do the full selected burst so long as he is in constraints.

It's very similar to the oscillations the huey gets when starting the engines to idle. -
Is anyone else finding the attitude hold mode now very unreliable? It seems to either accel or decel the aircraft and can be clearly seen with the green cross deviating greatly from the red X trimmed position. I found the attitude hold mode worked great before the patch I guess we'll see how things go next update.

It's much worse since the update. The attitude hold mode also seems to bugged now as well.

I believe the kneeboard has some information and key presses needed for setting up the flares how you like.
