Still works for me, check your DCS log file for errors

I have been testing various new flight models and have now found out how to achieve stable flight to 78,000, I can get it to 80,000 but its just a bit on the edge at the moment in certain situations. Anyway 78 is good enough for me and as near to its known ceiling. I have also made changes to a number of other things that now make it possible to air start at any altitude and also runway start and climb to 78,000 without adding additional waypoints in the mission editor. In addition I have now tested against SAM sites and it will overfly all DSC SAM units, only S300-PMU2 and S300VM shot this thing down. I have not tried it against any Currenthill Mods. There is still more testing to do on this but someone else can have a go. As this is not my mod I will contact Hawkeye60 and see if he wants to include the updated lua in his Mod

Ok here it is, this lua file replaces the one in the mod pack and will get you to 70,000ft, have fun trying to get to a higher altitude.... dragon_lady.lua I have detailed a lot of information in the lua so have a look at what I changed, most is as per the original aircraft specs that are on line, and most changes relate to changing numbers to the correct unit of measurement that DCS requires. They all seem to work. For the Mission Editor it is really important to stick to the aircrafts rate of climb time limits when creating waypoints ie, 9000ft per minute as trying to get higher quicker increases instability. The attached Miz file shows you how to do this as an example. DCS AI has a couple of strange behaviours when it comes to altitude, waypoints and rates of climb, therefore there are 3 waypoints one at 33000, one at 65000 and the last at 70000, Stick to these as they are important altitudes for DCS AI as it has a severe nose up attitude for some reason just after these numbers. You will see this when you play the file. This is on the Persian Gulf Map by the way. PG U2 Altitude Test.miz Things I have not tested yet, 1. Getting above 70500ft, 2. Air Starts at any altitude (all my tests are take off and landing), 3. Reaction to missile radars or threats. and 4. Weather restrictions. Have Fun

I have now managed to get this stable at 70,000 at 99kts indicated airspeed, I will post the lua and a miz test file with some advice for the Mission Editor here for anyone to use or compare tomorrow once I have tidied a few things up. The challenge now is to get it to go higher.....74000 or maybe 80,000 This was a full flight that lasted 2 hours from take off to landing.

I managed to change a few parameters in the lua file and was able to climb to 70,000ft but it is flying on the edge and any sort of banking has the potential to make the flight unstable and depart into a stall all the way to the ground. More work needed on the lua so I will keep going but it will be difficult to get beyond 70,000. My best is 70,000 at 96kts indicated as in the picture. This was from take off on the Persian Gulf map with a nice flight over Iran until the AI banked, airspeed was lost below 90kts indicated and pitch and AOA increased to above 10% and then it was all over.

Why do I have four versions of Agile spear?
Scoop replied to Moxica's topic in DCS: A-10C Operation Agile Spear Campaign
A10C II Tank Killer is the latest version 11/07/24. I to have all the different versions listed as you. I think in the docs folder 2.5 is the latest version listed -
Go to the module manager, (the 9 little squares next to the setting wheel on the home screen), once there go to the installed tab, scroll down and enable the mod.

This mod is affected by the historical filter.

Can anyone tell me what these badges are on the 75th anniversary scheme are? This is the 2022 aircraft 80-241 and I can't find a reference to them anywhere as I don't know what I'm looking for. The middle two are the 74th and 75th badges I believe. Thanks in advance. Scoop

The free flight mission has two triggers actions enabled at the mission start for no apparent reason, or unless they are there for a later date....... i have removed them and resaved the mission until ED fixes it and attached it below. Put the miz file in DCS World main game folder under Mods, Aircraft, A10CII, Missions, Quick start. A-10C_AFG_AI_FF.miz

Keep this Campaign alive project
Scoop replied to connos's topic in A-10C Operation Piercing Fury Campaign
This is down to a Bug with the AI helicopters in DCS at the moment -
Is anyone else seeing a sound issue with the AI CH47D, no sounds in any missions and lots of sounder issues in the log files. i have tried a slow repair and updated DCS to latest MT. Also the aircraft will not take off after a landing using perform command in ME (just hovers 10 feet off the ground, additionally wingman in a flight of two lands in the opposite direction to the lead aircraft.

In model viewer, select tools then preferences, and you will see Application settings. Check 'use FPS limiter' and set it to 60 FPS

Hi @ivan-ivanov-1902, in my lua files I used the correct arguments from model viewer and its called Locator_Rotation, a dummy tracker was also used which is in the 9S32 track radar. The Locator rotation on the ERO model is limited to two directions (up and down, and arm rotation) but on the 9A82 Giant in real life the locator also rotates left and right as in the picture below. Shame we can't do this but there is no argument on the model for it. The 9A83 model is correct in its locator rotation arguments. You will also see in the files I have changed the vehicle to a tracked IFV for engine sounds, added the IR stuff for FLIR, also tidied up the missiles so they come out the middle of the tubes, changed to my own naming convention and added an encyclopedia animation so it looks right in the encyclopedia. I have added a complete liveries file to my S-300's, all from current pictures of the real thing, but am not ready to release them yet as there is still some work to do, but here are a couple of others I have done (Egypt) and (Northern Russian) which is great for the KOLA map

Hi @ivan-ivanov-1902 This is how i have made it work. S-300V_9A82_LN.lua S-300V_9A83_LN.lua Seems to work pretty well on both the ERO models

No you would have to redo it everytime, however I use mod manager to keep it from being replaced every update
